1998 toyota camry flashing air bag light w/new seat belt?
I just put a new seat belt in a 1998 toyota camry – belt cam from a 2001 camry but was identical part number.
Now air bag light flashes. I already tried disconnecting battery.
Thanks

Flashing means open short in system. Did you connect the wires to the status switch? I also find it hard to believe that a 98 and a 2001 will be the same part number. 2001 has GEN 2 srs system,
If you left the key on while disconnecting any wires then that is what caused the code. You have to have it erased with a scanner. If it doesn’t erase you still have a problem and you SRS system is deactivated.
It has been 10yrs you just have to take it in to Toyota and they will reset the computer. Its a safety thing all cars with air bags have them nothing to worry about.
