I was driving(carA) on a two lane road in a passing lane going uphill at 40mph when a car(carB) from the truck lane fish-tailed and hit my car, which in turn sent me into oncoming traffic. I then got into a head on collision with another car(carC) which was going 60mph downhill in the opposite lane. I had a seat belt on but I was sitting close enough to the steering wheel that my face slammed off of it. I did not apply breaks when I was hit by carB because the roads were snowy. So my seat belt did not fully restrain me as it would have if I used the breaks. The result was 3 teeth being knocked out and part of my jaw was broken. I was also severely bruised on the left side of my collar bone and my left knee was bruised. An ambulance was called. I was brought to the hospital where my vitals were checked and an xray of my knee was performed. Besides my teeth I was "OK" so I was released within the hour to see an orthodontic surgeon, the hospital didn’t have one, who put my teeth back in and stitched through my gums to hold my jaw bone in place. I was prescribed vicadin and an antibiotic. The three teeth were on the bottom, the two in the front middle and the next one left. I cannot bite for the next 4 weeks, everything is chopped up Chiclet size. The first two weeks it was too painful to chew because my front teeth would touch, limiting my diet to applesauce and diced fruit. I lost almost ten pounds because of this. My car is totalled, it was a 94 jeep cherokee with kbb value of ,000(even with all the miles =D). I can no longer drive to work, obviously, and so I no longer have a job because of this accident. The passengers of the car that I had a head on collision with agree it was the fault of carB, they witnessed carB check my car into their lane. The guy had an audi with airbags and whatnot, no injuries. I was the only person injured. What sort of settlement can I expect from the insurance of carB? Also, should I hire a lawyer?
