My toddler thinks it’s funny to grab the sides of her chest buckle and push it down to the hip buckle, which leaves a LOT of room from her shoulder to her hip buckles. S

She is able to free her arms out of the arm straps which is not safe. She chooses to do this during drive time when we are on the road/freeway and it is scary and frustrating.

Does anyone have any type of material or accessory that you can put on the shoulder strap that can prevent the child from pushing her chest harness down and freeing her arms?

And yes, the harness is tight like it should be. If you buckle your child in their 5 point harness, tighten it, then push the chest buckle down, you will see what I mean as far as if they know how to, they can then free their arms.

Help!

Are they supposed to put the seat belt on you when they put you in the back of the car?
Is it against the law if they don’t?

My son is almost 3.5 years and weighs just over 18 kilos. We have a Safe n Sound Maxi Rider AHR booster seat and he is currently in the 5 point harness, He still has heaps of room in the seat and harness but I know that once they are 18 kilos, you are supposed to have them with just the adult seat belt through the booster seat and stop using the harness.

I know that harnesses are tested to 22 kilos so would it be okay to leave him in the 5 point harness for another couple of kilos? I don’t think it is safe to stop using the harness.

Why on earth doesn’t Australia have car seats where you can use a 5 point harness over 18 kilos? It is completely unsafe.

I’ve heard that if you’re walking past a porch in a neighborhood of New Orleans in the evening it’s polite to greet someone sitting there, even if they’re a stranger. Is this true, and would you say ‘Good evening’ or ‘Good night’?

I am doing research for class and would like to know what your opinion is about 5-point harness carseat use for older children. Children who are over 40lbs, under 4ft 9in and who are under the age of 9. Please give personal examples, any feedback ( except people who are rude and off topic) will be helpful. Thank you!
I have visited the YouTube for Kyle Miller as well as Belle’s Gift. These are tragic stories, but I am very proud of the families who shared their stories. I am a mother of a 4 month old and we will be purchasing the Britax Marathon. I Plan to keep him rear facing as long as possible as well.
I do not agree about not being able to find a seat that will be big enough. The Britax Regent is a roomy seat and will harness up to 80lbs.

Accident was on the highway. About 70mph’s and ran into the back of a 18 wheeler truck trailer. Front seat passenger who was NOT wearing a seat belt. He is a 17 year old male, about 6’2 and 140pounds.

Most common possible injuries to him?
Okay well besides death.

I have my daughter who turns 3 today in a Britax Boulevard, I absolutely love this seat but in all honesty we paid almost 0 with shipping and we are traveling internationally and I won’t let airport staff beat it up like they do our luggage so we want to purchase a convertible booster to travel with. Our daughter turns 3 today is very big for her age ( weighs 38 pounds and is 40 inches tall) but I will NOT put her in a booster (besides they are not FAA approved), I want a 5 point harness like I have in my current seat.

So I need recommendations for a front facing seat that has a 5 point harness with a high weight/height limit using the harness. Must be FAA approved (airplane approved). Must have LATCH and teether. Must have some cushion since we will be using it in our rental car for long car rides. Not extremely heavy. 0 MAX since it is just to travel. Suggestions?

I looked into the Nautilus and was really impressed when I saw it in person but it was a bit on the heavy side..other ideas?

Thanks.

I have a coupe (car) and need a sturdy ubrella stoller with a 5-point harness, or a 3-point w/a tray. I have been researching and reading reviews like mad, trying to find a great stroller. Most that I have found, only support upto 35 lbs. I would like to find one that holds upto 50 lbs. Another problem my husband and I are having…is that I’m 5’2" and my husband is 6’2"…we need to find a stoller that has either adjustable handles, or taller ones so he won’t have to hunch.

I know I must be asking a lot for a stroller LOL, but I don’t want to waste money on one I dislike.

1. Sit infront of the tv with him on your lap until he falls asleep.
2. a ride in the car.
3. Put him in his stroller and walk around the neighborhood.

I ask this because today my mother in law asked me if my daughter (she’s 16 months old) was gonna take a nap and I said I was either gonna take her for a ride in the car or a stroll around the neighborhood to get her to take her nap.
My MIL said I was "spoiling her"…
She’d much rather sit infront of the tv with the baby on her lap until she falls asleep…
I don’t get it…

Which is best?

((Note: my baby will go to sleep by herself at night, but for some reason whe won’t take her nap unless I use one of take her for a walk, a ride in the car or if my MIL puts her on her lap and watch tv))
I’d appreciate it if ONLY PEOPLE WITH KIDS would answer…. thanks very much…
She DOES NOT CRY…
I will NOT LET MY BABY "CRY IT OUT"

I cant get a car (no money) and my bike is making me so sore i can hardly pick my daughter up. I was looking into buying an electric scooter and was then wondering how am i going to transport her in it.
I need something motorized that does not need a license, and runs on the sidewalk.

Should I help this stray/feral cat?

I was taking a walk today when I saw a tiny black kitten laying down in the shade near a few benches. The poor thing was VERY skinny and seemed a bit thirsty, to be honest. However, his/her coat was reasonably clean. I didn’t have any water or food with me at the time… besides, I know that some stray/feral cats can be dangerous. The cat I saw didn’t seem too mean. I can recognize some cat body language and it looked calm to me- no flat ears, bushy tail or anything. It was just curled up with the typical friendly tail flicking and sleepy, half-closed eyes.

I made eye contact with it and it just laid there, staring at me. Later, I saw it strolling around the benches and sitting down again. I’m only 14 so I asked my mom if I could do anything. She said to leave it alone. Besides, today is a Sunday so all the vets are closed. Do you think there is anything I can do at the moment? Or would it be able to take care of itself? Any precautions I should take?

Thanks! Have a great day :)
Oh, and does anyone know if this cat is stray, feral, or lost? In my neighborhood there are practically no outdoors cats (everyone has dogs or indoor cats).
I would also like to add that I was about 2.5 meters away from the cat… so I couldn’t have a good look at its coat. It might have just seemed clean because it was one color.

I am preparing for a class presentation on Child Safety, with an emphasis on not talking to strangers. I wanted to know if there was a place I can get a free video to show to the children? I just need it to be 10-15 minutes long.

I have looked on every search engine and haven’t found anything. one of the bars on my daughter’s dora toddler bed broke, and i wanted to know if there was a place i can order parts from?

I’m having a debate with someone about the need for an SUV or minivan if I have more than 2 children, but I’ve seen that there may be a few models of sedans that fit 3 child safety seats in the back. Do you know of any and how are their safety ratings?
