Does anyone know of a lightweight umbrella-type stroller where the baby faces the parent? My daughter’s too big for her infant seat in the travel system stroller, but I still want to be able to face her and talk to her while pushing her around.

I want one that is at a reasonable price, of course. Nothing in the hundreds unless its on a sale or clearance, but still in the two digits. Also, I would like it to be comfortable and easy to use since I’ll be traveling often. I’ll be using it for my newborn.

I have a 1999 VW Jetta and am looking for a convertible car seat that will fit even with the front seats back far enough to accomodate drivers with long legs. So far it appears that the best fit will be the Britax Roundabout, but I also wanted check with you mommies and daddies on here. I went to carseatdata.org and the Britax roundabout seemed to be the only one that would work, but I would like personal experience as well as I don’t know the positions of the front seats when they check those. I know I can go to Babies R’us and try the seats in my car, but I won’t be able to do that for a few days. Does anybody have any suggestions?

It is 1987, and you decided to walk around in the park, just for a stroll. And all of a sudden you see Michael, sitting there on the grass, looking around the park, watching other kids playing, enjoying the wonderful sunny day. Noone notices that it’s Michael, except only you. What would you do?

I would walk up to him and say hello and ask if I can sit with him. If he says yes, then I would talk to him, chat about life, his life especially, and other stuff. Then after that we can play alittle tag or something lol. Then after all is done i’d ask probably ask for a hug. =D Darn, if I only knew that he was going to be at the park, I would have brought my super soakers. xD

Oh, and just to make sure this doesn’t get deleted AGAIN, what do you think was Michael favorite brand of gum??

We’re really looking for a cool/cute car seat replacement. We’re not interested in Winnie the Pooh or such, more like Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Sonic, Yoshi…. you get the idea.

I agree that children under the age of 12 should be required to be belted in. I am an adult. If I don’t want to wear a seat belt, why should I have to?

Im in search of a toddler seat and want a good one but can not afford much. Does anyone have any suggestions besides ebay or yahoo shopping?

I am on somewhat of a budget (i.e. – NOT in the market for a BOB or otherwise outrageously expensive jogger) and am looking for a reliable, durable jogging stroller. Weight isn’t a huge issue as it will probably only rarely see the trunk of a car and I will use it mostly for sidewalk walking (I already own an umbrella stroller and an Evenflo Aura stroller) and some trail walking/jogging. My son is a very healthy 35 pounds at 10 months and has only recently started to slow down so I also need something with a higher weight limit. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

A.N This is the prologue and the beginning of chapter one of my new story "Trapped In Your Mind". It is about a small country, where when you get to 16 your memories are wiped. This is to hide something that is happening in the country (revealed later). You can choose one word to hang on to, most people choose their name – but some choose something else. This is the story of a boy – and the word that is all he can recall when he awakes in a cell. "Freedom".

PROLOGUE
The frigid night air made Jessica shiver as she stepped back from the window, staring straight up at the boy in front of her.
“Who are you?” she asked him, confused. A dark mask covered his face, and the fact that she couldn’t see who he was seemed to make his presence even more frightening.
He said nothing, and did not move even an centimetre in response.
She looked up at him, and with a feeling of dread, realised that he must be dangerous – otherwise how would he have got into the house? Maybe he had broken in and downstairs her parents were lying – no. She couldn’t think that.

"Who are you?" she repeated, trying not to panic. Her parents must have let him into the house, right. Listening, she could hear no sounds coming from downstairs, nor had she heard the door open. Panicking, she began to cry; somehow knowing that something dreadful was about to occur. The boy stepped back as if startled, as she began to sob. Slowly he lifted his mask,his hazel eyes fixed on her.

"Don’t be scared," he said in a gravelly voice.
"Don’t be scared?" She raised an eyebrow – of course she was scared!
"I don’t want to hurt you, you know. I have a job to do. An… arrangement with the leaders of our good city." He laughed joylessly, then continued.
"You see, there is something that happens to every child of Fila when they turn sixteen. I can only tell you this because I am sure that by tomorrow you will no longer remember what I am telling you. And you should know, I don’t usually let people know what will happen." He frowned and looked away.

"What will happen?" she asked softly, as if now resigned to what may happen.
"Every memory you have will be wiped from your mind. You will know all the skills you possess, to read or write – but you won’t know how you learned, or who taught you. You won’t remember your friends or your family. I don’t know why this happens."
Jessica leaned back against the wall. "No. You can’t be serious. Why would they do that?"
The boy looked at her with what could have been interpreted as sympathy. "Perhaps they want utter control, or there is something going on around here. Does it matter?"
Her expression changed to one of grim determination. "I don’t believe you, you’re lying. You have to be!"
"Have you ever heard your parents talk about their childhood? Your teachers, do they ever mention their days as a student?"

The boy did not give her a chance to respond, but instead glanced at his watch.
"Right, it’s time to go." From his pocket, he took a pair of handcuffs, and attached them to her wrists deftly. Jessica, usually a kind,gentle girl began to swear as she struggled to escape. He pushed her out of the room and down the stairs.
"I suppose you have your memories- must be why you help them, right?" she hissed.

"Yes actually, it is." His iron grip softened, as he led her out of the house and pushed her into the back of a black van. He climbed into the front seat, pulling his mask back down as he did so and then the car drove away, not to return.

CHAPTER ONE (PARTIAL)

They told me to write this, to make sure that I would remember how to. The thing is, I can’t say anything about me or who I am. Perhaps that’s just as well.

Maybe you’ll invent some story to explain your life before, where you were ordinary – or even better; some hero saving lives. You’ll never have to see the truth. That perhaps this place isn’t just somewhere you are trapped; but the place that reveals who you really are. And I am a monster, for what I did. I could have stopped it all, but I didn’t try hard enough.

As a comfort, in the cells, we whisper that it was all their fault – but I alone know the reality. Sure Fela may not be the best places in the world, but it has taught me something which I hope you can cling to. Something that will remain after my memories are wiped. Always watch your back; you never know who will betray you. For me, it was the person I trusted the most…

I am pregnant, looking for a stroller. I only had a ‘regular’ one w/ my son and have never used a jogging stroller.

My question is, if I get a jogging stroller, should I still get a ‘regular’ stroller? Can the jogging stroller be used as the every day stroller?

I am hesitent to get both because I cannot say 100% I will use the jogging stroller.

Any advice is helpful.
I had really great ‘all-terrain’ stroller w/ my son, but I nearly killed him trying to use it as a jogging stroller…I will never try that again.

Well i was scrolling through the menu of my TV trying to get closed captioning on when i accidentally turned on the child safety lock. I then couldn’t do a damn thing. Then (being stupid) i turned off the TV now i cant turn the damn thing on!

My twin boys are about 20 lbs and I need to buy front facing car seat for them . I am confused which one to buy. At present they are in infant car seat. I want to buy a car seat which is front facing and then can be converted into booster car seat.

I’m going to be a new mommy in March. My hubby and I are trying to finish up our registry, but can’t seem to decide on a few last items. Any recent mommies out there have some recommendations on these items: baby slings (comfortable, easy to use preferably), a stroller that also has the baby carrier and car seat holder, and the easiest to use baby bath tub/shower center?

I just got a ticket for suspended license, no seat belt , and child restraint. Can I get my license reinstated still?
They where suspended for an old traffic ticket that I just paid in March. I got the ticket 2 days ago.
