90% of car seats are improperly installed. The professionals doing physical inspections require both the instruction manual from the car seat and the vehicle’s owner’s manual. That being said, do you really want to trust random people on the Internet with information on your child’s safety?
its a carrier with a handle? you want a base with that.
I have an evenflo carseat and the base is not essential. We took our off and just securely put the baby in the car like you would with any other carseat.
As long as it has the belt positioner slots (near the top on each side, looks like slots) it can be used. Remember to use a seat belt lock that comes with the seat .
I would suggest that you always use a base if you are talking about an infant carrier seat. It is much safer and not worth taking a risk in case of accident.Sometimes people give you seats and it is dangerous because you dont have the whole thing or the directions to it. Maybe you can go on line and find the model you have and get more info.
you can buy a base for it look at babies r us for them you can use it without but why chance it
true I got one. You need the base bummer I know.
Yes you need a Base for the car seat. Recently they tested the evenflo discovery car seat in a child safety test and it did not do so hot. At 36 mph the whole seat flipped out of the base and rolled three times. So if you can try and go for another car seat. The Graco Snugride was one of the higher scoring seats within a reasonable price range.
You can use it without the base. Take it to your police station and a certified safety seat instructor will show you how.
