Baby slings or baby carriers and recommendations please?
How many of you use a baby sling or baby carrier and can you use these from birth. I am looking to buy and wondering if anyone can recommend any particular brand or style.
Thanks

I would suggest a Moby wrap for a newborn, and an Ergo for an older baby.
If you can only buy one, get the Ergo. They’re expensive but they hold their resale value very well.

My daughter is 13 months and I still use my Ergo daily.
Don’t get a Bjorn type carrier, they hold baby by the crotch and it’s terrible for their spine as well as your’s.
I have both sling and carrier. I found my daughter liked the sling the first 3 months and hated the carriers. Now she’s nearly 5 months, she likes the carrier and hates the sling. I recommend the baby bjorn carrier.
I bought a baby sling because I thought I’d need it and use it all the time, I never took it out of the box.
dont use slings – it swallows the baby and they break – look at how many Are being recalled. I use a baby carrier by baby bjorn it works great!
A sling isn’t a good idea until they can sit up and you just rest their rump in the sling on the side of your body. As a newborn, it’s better to get a carrier designed for a newborn, like the Ergo, which is expensive but has so many different ways you can use and wear it that I just think it’s worth it. It can go front carrier, side carrier, or back carrier. So to me it’s the best all around. Plus it has an insert for newborns and is designed not to hold the baby by the crotch but to have them sit on their rump, better for them.
Slings where you lay the baby inside of them have been recognized as dangerous for years. It’s only recently that they were able to prove the danger and have them recalled, but the studies were out there long before this recall. So a sling of that sort is simply not safe. If it’s a sling where their rump rests in it and they sit in it with their torso out, those are still safe, but again you really can’t use them until they’re starting to sit up and can support their head.
