There are a lot of things you can easily pick out by looking online. However, some things just need a first hand look. I think baby equipment is one of those things. It's helpful to see things in person before deciding on things like strollers, car seats, cribs, and travel systems. I suggest you go to several stores such as Babies R Us, Toys R Us, Target, Walmart, Sears, JC Penney, or any other local stores that carry baby items. Take some time to push the strollers and practice folding them. See first hand how heavy they are and how much room they take up when folded. Feel the fabric on car seats and check out how the latching system works. Sometimes looks alone just can't give you a good idea as to what you are going to get. After you find the items you like best than you can do some research to find the best web site to get the best price deal on exactly what you want. Personally, I don't think there is a best or really good travel system only because each one has their own set of pros and cons depending on what your wants and needs are. All are going to meet minimum safety standards, so it will take some investigation to find the one that suits you best.

We purchased the Peg Perego 30/30 and really like it, the carseat has SIP technology. IT's pricey, but worth it.

Congratulations!

First of all, you are wise to keep it neutral, many parents make that mistake! The best advice I can give you is to take a trip to Babies r us, wal mart, burlington's baby depot.......baby depot has the strollers on the floor, which I like, because you can push it around and pick it up and really get to see how it works, how hard it is to open, etc. I did all that with my son 10 years ago, and it worked out well. I had an evenflo travel system with him. We of course sold all my son's stuff, and now, ten years later decided we wanted another one, and I assumed since I liked the Evenflo system then, I'd like it just the same now, and focused more on the patterns and colors, since I knew this was the last one. Well, that didn't work so well! Now I have this stroller that is ENORMOUS, doesn't even fit properly in my trunk, I have to turn it on it's side, even the wheels on the thing are huge! The carrier has this stupid sun shade that falls down under the carrier and gets stuck when I snap it into the base in the car. It's terrible and was a huge mistake. So honestly, go and push the strollers around, fold them up, open them up and then make your final choice, don't be stupid like me!

I have a Bertini travel system that has the same weight restrictions as yours. It is basically an Eddie Bauer but has a different name. It's also gender neutral for the same reason as yours. I love the fact that the car seat can accommodate bigger babies due to the fact that I plan to keep my daughter in hers as long as possible. Most car seats only accommodate up to 22lbs and that is not a lot. The 35lb limit is what sold me on this particular one. I've known so many parents who have had to buy another car seat to get their child through to the one year mark when they were able to turn them. A friend of mine's daughter only weighs 18lbs and has already outgrown hers because she is tall. Her head touchs the sun shade and her feet hang off the end. She's only 8 months old.

I don't find mine heavy at all. I wouldn't trade my travel system for anything in the world. Love it!
