Has anyone else had/have this infant travel system?
I recently bought a 2007 Safety 1st Eurostar Travel System off of Craigslist for . I looked on the website for recalls prior and any faults on Safety 1st’s behalf and found none. The model number is 22 325 CRB. I Just want to know what anyone else’s experience with this travel system was because on http://nhtsa.gov website – the Safety 1st car seats were rated the lowest stars. I originally wanted the Chicco Key Fit 30 travel system because it is one of the safest travel systems out there, but don’t want to spend 0 at Babies R’ Us. Some input on my new "Travel system" would be great. Thanks

That website rates the parents ease of use. It’s an opinion of using the seat, not the safety factor.
You need to be look at this site. Safety first passes crash test: http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/babies-kids/baby-toddler/car-seats/infant-car-seat-ratings/ratings-overview.htm
Safety 1st is safe, as most of these systems, it’s just hard to handle, hook to your seat, and are very bulky. But you should get the hang of it in no time. My friend has the pink one and there are no issues. There are NO recalls on it, so it’s fine as long as it wasn’t abused by previous owners. http://www.safety1st.com/product/detail.asp?ID=2816&model=6497
More money doesn’t mean safer.
This has a formula for best car seat fit for your car:

If it is rated the lowest, there is probably a reason.
I don’t see anything wrong with Graco travel systems. Our car seat was comfortable and safe, and the stroller continues to suit our needs as our baby grows.
One plus about Graco is the ease of use.
Good luck, and if it were my newborn…anything with any kind of recall on it wouldn’t come near my child.
personally, if i felt the chicco was safer, i would shell out the money, bc i wouldn’t be able to live with myself if something horrible happened and i had guilt thinking it might have been prevented if i had bought the chicco; same reason i shelled out over 300 for the britax i bought my dd….
All car seats by law have to meet certain standards. Those stars are only there as guidelines on ease of use, ese of instructions and so on. When getting a car seat try it out. Look at it in the stores, push it around and so on. Try buckling and unbuckling the seats and try to find if it is easy for you to use. What is easy for one person might be difficult for another.
Are All Seats Safe?
"All car seats rated by NHTSA meet Federal Safety Standards & strict crash performance standards. While all rated seats are safe, they do differ in their ease of use in four basic catagories"
I personally wouldn’t buy a car seat from someone I don’t know since I don’t know the history behind the car seat. You don’t know if the seat has been in an accident or anything. I really liked my Graco travel system.
you really shouldnt buy a car seat from someone you dont know because you dont know if that car seat has been in a car wreck. after being in a car wreck the baby seat is supposed to be thrown away. so for your babys safty i would just go buy one from the store. i had a graco one for my son and i loved it it worked great the only thing i didnt like about it was that the handle was zigg zagged instead of the ones that just "bent over the seat" (sorry couldnt think of a better word at the time lol) but anyways it was zigg zagged so putting the little hanging toys on it made them hang right up in his face so if your thinking about putting toys on the handle make sure its not one of those
