Hi does really matter of what type of stereo audio cable or brand?

Hi I went to Radioshack today to buy a stereo audio cable for my (X Rocker Gaming chair) & it only cost me .96. Is a 6ft stereo audio cable that has silver plugs & is from Radioshack brand. I did see a other stereo audio cable from different brand that cost ,it had gold plugs & it might give better sound? Sound I keep my current cables or should I trade for the stereo audio cable gold plugs? Thank you.
Sorry I mean RCA cable. The cable that has white & red plugs.

Well…………that’s a little extreme.
The smaller diameter the cable, the more resistance it has to the current that passes over it. So you could get cable so fine that it would actually limit the signal traveling to your speakers. The odds you would actually find such a cable is remote; especially for something as low quality as a rocker gaming chair. It really depends on what equipment you’re driving and what you’re driving it with.
But for your gaming chair, the cheapest cable will work as well as the most expensive. And most of that high-priced gold-plated stuff is a rip off anyhow.
No. a cable is a cable. It either works or it doesn’t. There is no such thing as a cable that works "better". Anyone who tries to tell you otherwise is either trying to waste your money or has been taken in themselves.
All this "advanced shielding" and gold-plating is just hype.
Addendum: One exception to this is optical wiring, which is extremely sensitive to kinks and bends. Getting a higher quality optical cable is probably a good idea, as those will generally last longer, and be better protected from being squished and bent.
For your RCA analogue cables, the radio shack ones are fine. Believe it or no, you can spend over $50 on them!!
I’d mention that the gold is for corrosion proofing- but really, when was the last time you saw rust on your cables!?
Contrary to what some people say, speaker cables can and do make a difference to the sound you hear.
