How do I get my toddler to sleep in places besides home?

My daughter is 20 months old and will only take naps at home in her toddler bed. I am a stay at home mom so she is used to being at home everyday, but it becomes an issue when we go visit family or stay in a hotel. I am at my parents house visiting today and she skipped her nap. I can tell she is sleepy, but she just won’t lay down and fall asleep…any ideas?

you might try bringing an item from home.
your house may have a particular smell, comfortableness she has trouble letting go of just yet
try giving her a blanket from you house, try feeding her, or try giving her a special sweater of yours, etc.
That’s the best I can think of.
Have her lie down with you in your bed, that might make her comfy enough to sleep.
Not much you can really do there, besides making her feel more comfurable. Bringing her fav blanket, toy. I am a stay at home mom too,but I had my kids staying at my mom’s house over night every other weekend from the time they where born. I didn’t hold them all the time so they wern’t attached to my side. (i did that on purpose) They are both very eagar to see new people and don’t care if I leave. They come to me when they want hugs and kisses, and they also come when I tell them I want hugs and kisses. They tell me to stop when I am hugging too much. LOL But I guess it all depends on there personalities too. If you can’t get her to sleep, maybe you can just get her to take a rest while watching a cartoons or something, even that helps. The more use to it they are,the better it will be. My mom’s house is there second house. As it is mine. Maybe stay longer when you visit or do it more often. They will get use to it fast.-good luck!
mine does the same thing i just let her play usually she falls asleep
