you put your baby in the carseat, buckle the middle piece together, then buckle the two metal pieces at the bottom together. put 1 finger in between the baby and the carseat, and tighten the baby in. there is only supposed to be room for 1 finger between the two. if you’re using a carseat with a base, you sit the carseat on the base and be sure to check that it is locked in. if not, you run the seat belt through the little holes on the sides of the carseat, kind of on top of the baby’s legs. after that, you put the handle down, and if it has a shade you put it down. be sure to tighten the seatbelt before you go anywhere and make sure the carseat doesn’t move. and that’s it.
You can call the manufacture and get the instructions. I would really suggest though buying a car seat. Car seats are often getting recalled, plus you would know how old the car seat is.
i wouldnt use a used one there are so many recalls out there… i would get a brand new one
thumbs down me but thats just my opinion
There are lots of places that will help you install it in your car, try the local police station. Even if they can’t help you they might know where to refer you.
There are 2 important things when installing a car seat.
1) It needs to be level. Most newer car seats have a gauge on them to help with this.
2) If needs to be SECURE. If you can move it, even a tiny bit, by rocking it or pushing it or anything else then it’s too loose.
I recommend having someone who weighs like 300 lbs sit in it while you wrench down on the seat belt.
First…you shouldn’t use a used car seat…unless you are 100% sure that car seat has never been in an accident…even then, most experts discourage buying/using a used car seat.
Second…what is the brand? If you go to the website of the brand there are instructions to download for all the car seats they make.
This site has video tutorials on how to install all infant seats, car seats, boosters…helped me installing my son’s…I didn’t think the instructions that came with the seat were very helpful.

Well, first what kind of car seat is it?You could contact the manufacturer to see if they’ll send you a new manual, but most are straightforward and easy to use, rear facing infant seat is just that, rear facing and just make sure all the buckles and straps are secure before using it..
You will need to take it to a certified car seat inspection place ot show you how to properly use and install it. Also, they can tell you if the seat you have is safe. I know times are tight, but its recommended you get new if you can-do you know the person who owned the seat before, how old it is, if its been in a wreck, etc.
Either way, get it checked out-its very worth it, and installation is different depending on the car.
Good Luck.
heres a link to find a place near you if you’re in the US
