How long does the average size can of formula last for a newborn?

I am trying to get a rough estimate of how many cans I will need per month? How much does a newborn baby eat, and how long, in days, does a can of formula last usually?

the large tins of formula last about a week at the max and last quite long in use by date definately stock up on as many of these as you can your fly threw them

A new born baby feeds ever four hours but they only consume 40-60mls per feed for a while, depending on your baby and his unique personality.
Newborns! Ahhh!!!…I had five newborns and what a fantastic experience each one was!
At first they have to get adjusted to being in the world after being so comfortable inside u.
The tin will tell you all you need to know…they grow…and fast…they only stay newborns for a month to six weeks and drink 60-80 mls by then and never be afraid to ask the nurses at hospital about anything at all.
have you considered breast feeding? As it really is a heavenly experience for a mother to feed her baby and bonding is so nice and the milk is free and you become the milk factory.
It opens up all sorts of doors for you if you do breastfeed your baby and he will have the very best milk source a human baby can get in life.
Nursing mothers association is helpful and informative for new mums.
When you get to the 3rd month, you won’t even believe your baby grew so much and he will be drinking a full bottle by then and you can start feeding him fruit and custard…most mums go through a lot of bananas and weetbix.
I made the choice to bottle feed my fifth child so the other kids could enjoy the feeding of the baby also.
good luck and join mothers groups and meet other mums in your local area and listen to mums talk…Trail and error and demand feeding is usually the way with the babies.

I am not how much sure since I breastfeed. However, if I were formula feeding I would not stock up until I knew for sure that the formula would agree with the baby. From what I read on here, many people have to switch from the original formula to one that agrees better with their LO.
I breastfeed so I can’t answer that — but don’t stock up on one formula brand until your baby is here, because it could take a few formula brands before you find one that agrees with him. But a newborn eats frequently, their tummies are tiny. My daughter was feeding hourly to every 2 hours when she was newborn, so that gives you a rough idea. If you’re planning on formula feeding from birth, your baby _might_ go longer as formula takes longer to digest but don’t be surprised if he wants feeding more than that.
