I would say try to use a mediator. Have scheduled visits at a responsible adults home like grand parent or family member that you can trust. Set it up so that you don’t have to be in attendance.Have him pick the child up and drop him off there. As for the car seat when it comes to saftey you might just want to go and buy him one, if you are going to continue to let him take the child. If the dad won’t agree or is still not responsible then you have proof that you made an effort at least. And that the dad is not interested in the baby only you.
How old is your baby? A lot of males don’t really know -how- to interact with newborn’s, they get better when the baby is about 4 months+ and more intractable. It’s hard for some parents to get used to being a parent – I really think you should give him a chance before you write him off your baby should have a chance to get to know his father and his father should really have a chance to get to know his child. It would be even harder for him to get used to the baby when he doesn’t live with him.
prob should have kept your legs closed if you didnt want him in your life.
He’s the father of your baby so he deserves to be in the child life as much as you are. You can’t get rid of him unless you can prove that he’s a bad person. Just give him a chance. Maybe you should go buy a new carseat if the old one was dirty.
if you are sure that he is trying to get ith you then always make sure that you have someone with you when he is coming. Most likely he will get tired of someone else present every time he come to see the baby and if he is only coming for you then he won’t come around as often or at all.
tell him that he can not see the baby and change your number… if he really wants to see his child he can make arrangements through the court system and if its about u and him getting back together he’ll put up a different arguement and show his true intentions… if he does take it to court bring up the dirty car seat argrument to try and get full custody… good luck!
