How to put a carseat in a 1989 Camaro?

We are having a baby tomorrow, and have a Safety 1st Car Seat and a 1989 Camaro. The seat can go in the back passenger side, but the front seat touches the carseat no matter how far forward it is. We wouldn’t use the front seat with the car seat behind it, but would it be safer to put the seat in the front? (Rear facing, no airbags, as far back as possible?) Ir to take out the front seat completely? Thanks for your input!

if you take the car and carseat to your local police station or fire station, they will install it for you, and they know which way is best for different types of cars.
At your local police station or fire station they can install the carseat for you. Although if thats a hassle when you put it in yourself at the hospital they will check it before the baby goes home to make sure you did it right. If not they will fix it for you.
