I would get a rear-racing convertible carseat. It will last you a long time (up to 40 or 60 pounds depending on the model). We have the Britax Marathon, and it’s great. My daughter is almost a year, so we still have it rear-facing. (We will for a while because she’s on the small side.) She’s very comfortable in it (much more so than in her Graco infant seat). I love the Britax because I know she’s safe in it. Maybe the insurance company would cover part of it?? I’m assuming you and your kids are fine. Here’s hoping the new carseat will never have to get tested out like that!
I would get her a rear-facing convertible one. they are worth it in the long run. they have ones that can go up to 80 pounds, which is how big they should be in a carseat/booster
I would get a convertible for your 4 month old. She will be sitting up on her own in 2 months in grocery carts and such so the carrier won’t be needed for things like grocery shopping.
Hope your babies and you are ok! Call your insurance company and ask if a Britax seat is ok.
Start out by finding out what the car insurance will cover in regards to car seats (i.e.: brand, amount, style, etc…) Once you have that information you can start shopping. Tell them what you are looking for BEFORE you buy it to make sure it is covered (just in case!). I’m very glad no one was hurt. Very lucky and I’m glad you are replacing your car seat.
