Honestly, I would probably go into auto pilot and grab her health card, pick her up and run us to the hospital across town!!! LOL
I wouldn’t even think about a car, cab, bus or ambulance, I’d just be thinking about getting her there!
And we actually don’t have an emergency plan. We should probably do that.
My hubby is a paramedic so I would call 911. Even if he wasn’t I probably still would because they dont just give him a ride that do pre hospital care. I have been meaning to make a plan in case of emergencies though! Thanks for the reminder!
where we used to live the hospital was very close by and easy to get to. so we would just go. strap her in the carseat, and one would drive, and one sits in the back with her.
But we just moved. and i have no idea where the hospital is. but i hear sirens all the time, and a few blocks over while walking i saw a dozen emergency vehicles parked. so i am not sure if thats where the hos[ital is, or just where the base is for the vehicles.
we dont really have an emergency plan though. something to think about though.
No one would be able to put there crying child in a car seat like that. I would call the ambulance because anything can happen in the blink of a eye and it would be expensive and safer to just call.
It depends…
If it were life or limb, as in baby may die, I would call 911 for an ambulance. An ambulance can get to the hospital safer and faster than we can in our car.
If it were a lesser emergency and putting baby into the carseat wouldn’t cause further injury or pain, I would put him into the carseat. If the carseat would cause further injury or pain I would call for an ambulance.
My issue for driving him to the hospital is I am not able to respond to him appropriately if his condition worsens. Even if someone else is driving and I am holding him, I don’t have the proper equipment or training to care for him if he gets worse. Response time is quick here for 911 calls, so why chance being in a situation where I can’t provide him with what he needs.
if they are bleeding and hysterical I would probably just hold them tight in my arms to keep pressure on the bleeding..I am only a few blocks from the hospital and without any lights and only 3 stop signs it wouldn’t be a far run if I had to do it!
We don’t have an emergency plan..Thanks for reminding me!
I would call the ambulance because we live 15 minutes from the hospital, but there is a fire station less than a mile from our house and since they could care for him on the way to the hospital, that may be a critical 15 for him. If I lived closer, it might be different, but with this distance, I don’t think I would chance it.
