Is a newborn baby safe to travel on an airplane?

Next month i’ll have my baby soon, and we’ve decided to take a vacation to another country, is it safe? thanks for your answers…

You should check with your baby’s doctor first.
in an infant car seat it is. some car seats say safe for air travel.
watch out for new regulations

I would say yes, but leave that to your pediatrician, who will know the health of your baby and what he/she will need immunization wise with you going to another country. If the baby isn’t old enough to have the shots, then don’t go, but like I said, leave that to the baby’s doc.
just don’t travel middle-east or you’re baby won’t be safe
As long as they’re not flying the plane, sure.

If you breast feed, try nursing them during take off and landing. It’ll help relieve the pressure in their ears. Hopefully you can drape a blanket over yourself, and have sympathetic fellow travelers. Most people have been good about my wife nursing on a flight, but once in a while you get a huffy little prig who gripes.
careful cuz you know what happened on sept.11 and what almost happened in the united kingdom but taking a new born baby on a trip is frusterrating and very difficult
my niece just took her 3 month old to florida but shes stupid. ask your doctor if its ok.
oyu would need to buy a special flight carseat. you could probably rent these at the airport too. a little tip: as you land your baby will probably start to scream. the only reason for this is not because its upset; this is just the way they even out the pressure in their ears another little tip:try to put the baby on a window seat. the view out the window will fascinate them for pretty musch the entire ride.

when i was born out of the country there was a rioting and anti american protesting they were pulling people out of cars and you do what you want maybe the baby would like a nice drive in North korea or a stroller walk down bagdaad
you’ll need to check with your pediatrician. They get seen every week until they are a month old and they need immunisations and things……be sure to check first before you book your tickets

Vacation? You will be more tired after your vacation then before if you decide to take a newborn with you!
It is not a good idea to travel with such a small baby because:
- the air on a plance is recirculated, and your baby’s immune system will be still very weak.
- you will need to feed the baby, probably quite often to prevent dehydration (people get easily dehydrated while traveling by plane). It will be hard to breastfeed, and the new safety regulations are pretty strict (if you take your expressed milk in a bottle, you will need to drink some in front of the security officers)
- there are no changing table on airplanes (usually)
- you will be in postpartum and still recovering (your doctor will advise you not to drive a car too often for the first two weeks after the delivery, not to lift anything heavy – what about the suitcases?, etc.). If you have a c-section, there will be even more restrictions.
- going to another country with such a small baby is most likely a bad idea, unless you are traveling to Canada (Europe is too far, and on some tropical islands there may not have proper medical staff and equipment if there is something going on either with you (postpartum problems) or the baby.
Generally speaking, it is a bad idea. Wait at least a few months!

i suggest you dont travel before she gets her first round of shots. i had the same problem my baby is now 2 and a half months. i was gonna take her on the plane with me at 6 weeks and it was just an hour flight . her pediatrician advised me not to take her unless she gets her shots. newborns get their shots on their 2nd month unlike before when they used to get it when they get discharged from the hospital. anyway she got her shots last week and now were preparing to fly to MIAMI next week.
It’s probably fine, but seriously, you are not going to want to be on vacation with a newborn – it wont be a vacation…the beginning is EXTREMELY difficult…you are lucky if you get 4 hours sleep a night, ca brush your teeth every other day, and can get a shower in once a week…I know it’s gross, but it is true – that is how hard it is…I would hold off until the baby is a bit older. because otherwise, you will all be miserable
i seriously think it’s too young to travel when the baby is less than 3 months old.
