It is not a good idea to travel with such a small baby because: - the air on a plance is recirculated, and your baby's immune system will be still very weak. - you will need to feed the baby, probably quite often to prevent dehydration (people get easily dehydrated while traveling by plane). It will be hard to breastfeed, and the new safety regulations are pretty strict (if you take your expressed milk in a bottle, you will need to drink some in front of the security officers) - there are no changing table on airplanes (usually) - you will be in postpartum and still recovering (your doctor will advise you not to drive a car too often for the first two weeks after the delivery, not to lift anything heavy - what about the suitcases?, etc.). If you have a c-section, there will be even more restrictions. - going to another country with such a small baby is most likely a bad idea, unless you are traveling to Canada (Europe is too far, and on some tropical islands there may not have proper medical staff and equipment if there is something going on either with you (postpartum problems) or the baby.
