Should my infant go to the hospital?

My fiance sat my five month old in her infant seat on our table. She wiggled out of the seat and fell off the table onto the floor. She cried for about thirty seconds and does have a bruise coming up on her forehead, but otherwise seems perfectly fine. Her eyes are still fine, she’s playing with a rattle, and she’s laughing, all like normal. Should I take her to the hospital to get checked out? What are symptoms I should watch for?

If something was wrong she’d be:
1. crying hysterically without stopping
2. fall into coma
3. be very lethargic
4. stop feeding
5. stop interacting
6. have a a dead look in her eyes
You could call her pediatrician if you want to hear a real person tell you what could be up.
They always have stand by doctors in cases like these.
I really don’t think anything is wrong.
My son would bump his head and I’d call his pedia. His doctor would tell me that the soft spots on his head relieve any potential pressure since his skull is not fully sealed to create pressure from an impact.
If you take her to the hospital, you’ll spend about 5 hours in the emergency room. They only take cases based on severity, so when they see your happy go lucky baby, they’ll tell you to have a seat. This is why I would rather call than go. If your pedia tells you to go, then go.
Although I doubt he/she will,
I would take her to the hospital! She’s still very young and I would be concerned about her brain and skill. Dont let her fall asleep!
And why wasnt she buckled in her infant seat???!!
So yes take her to the Hospital to get her checked out!!
The fact that she cried straight away is actually good – it means she did not lose consciousness.
Make sure whenever she goes to sleep she does not sleep for longer than usual. If she becomes lethargic or floppy take her to the ER immediately.
or you can call your pediatrician right now and page his number. He should call you back within minutes. If he does not- then go ahead and either go to the ER or an urgent care facility.

Yes go take your kid to the hospital..there can be internal bleeding..so go check it out
you should! babies cant talk,they cant say what they really felt . dont risk your child before its too late. ur child must have some x ray,,she is still a baby u must not take her condition for gramted
I’m with Smile on this. If your baby seems fine, bounced back quickly, did not lose consciousness and is not vomiting– she’s fine. The point of having a skull is to protect the brain– it’s made of bone– pretty hard. When babies are hurt, they cry for more than 30 seconds.
I remember taking my 3 year old (at the time) to the ER with a huge scrape/gash on his head that was full of gravel and dirt. The bleeding had stopped by the time I got to his school, but I was worried about infection. The ER doctor who rinsed his head told me that the chance for infection was so slight that I could have left it for three days before any problems would have started. He also reminded me that the skull is made of bone and the brain is protected by it…
Just a couple days ago my boyfriend’s 10 yr old cousin was carrying my daughter. She tripped over a chair and my daughter fell on the floor. My daughter got a bruise above her eye. She cried for about 5mins, she was fine after that she was smiling. Laughing, smiling talking, are all a good signs
So I’m pretty sure shes just fine. My daughter will be four months next week. Hope all is well.
take her just to check. there could be something going on inside her body that you would not be able to see. Better safe then sorry. Its not worth the risk.
