I’d say the Jeep Liberty or the Grand Cherokee.
I wouldn’t go with the Vue or Rav4, since both are front wheel drive when not engaged in four wheel drive (if available), as well as the escape. The Touraeg is supposed to be a good towing vehicle as well as having decent gas mileage, but I don’t know much about it. The Liberty and Xterra are good choices, but I’d look at a 4runner instead of a Highlander (better gas mileage, still towing capable).
IT depends on the weight you need to tow. If it’s a lighter boat, say 1500 lbs or less, I’d go with a Honda CRV or Toyota RAV4 (4 cyl). If you need to tow more, the Hihglander is okay, but I owuld go for a Honda Pilot instead as it has a more rugged chassis than the Highlander. The Rav 4 is fine but the people I know that have them say the mileage is not that great. My CRV gets about 25.5mpg avg, and can easily fit five & tow a small boat.
what about a ford escape hybrid? or the edge, which i think gets decent mileage. depending on the size of your boat, the RAV4 might be a little small
A lexus RX 330 or 300.It might be about 35K,but it is one of the safest cars in the world. It kicks out about 20 MPG.I’m pretty sure it can tow aboat up to 30ft.Good Luck!!!!!!!!!:)
I am not sure about the Toyota’s and the Nissan, but I have a Chevy trailblazer with three rows of seats, a 6 cylinder engine, and standard tow hitch. It gets 22 mpg on the highway, more room behind the third seat than a Tahoe and rides like a luxury car. I have never towed anything with my, but i have a brother in law that has a trailblazer and he tows a 20ft barge with his. He says it tows no problem.
Toyota FJ Cruiser- Has good Towing capacity
BMW X5- Gently Used, very athletic and can tow a boat
Chevrolet Equinox- Good looks, I’m not sure about towing
GMC Envoy- It’s like driving a mattress and it can tow
Acura MDX- Gently Used, It drives and looks good
Saab 9-7X- An upscale GMC Envoy, Saab does not sell many because poorly advertised leaving massive savings
Stay Away form VW Toureg— Slow, 14mpg, Expensive
