How can you tell if a toddler is going to vomit?

My two and a half year old son got ahold of some Tums. He ate maybe three or four before I caught him, but either way I called Poison Control and his doctor, both said he should be fine but to watch for vomiting, upset stomach or constipation.

How do you tell if a toddler is going to vomit though? He has no idea what nausea is and I’ve never really seen him throw up since he had a stomach virus when he was 10 months old.

I was just wondering when I can face my baby forward. She is 10 months old, but her feet touch the seat and she’s a little cramped. She weighs about 20 pounds.

How to take 4 or 5 kids for a walk ?

Hi ! I have a problem. I have in my care 4 kids at the moment, but expecting more. Around 6 kids, being old from 10 months to 12 months. I expect them all to not walk yet, but hope they will walk. I am looking for a stroller for triplets, but it is very expensive and only from one company Peg Perego. In other countries i could find even bigger stroller and cheaper, but since i live in europe and stroller are in usa, i need to pay also the tax and god only knows how much would the post cost be. I live in a block, the 10 th floor. I was thinking if it exist some sort of rope or something, that i would buy strollers for twins and some how connected them between and be able to get them on a fresh air.

Its a hard task for 2 people, but even harder for one.

If anybody will advise me, thanks upfront.
I forgot about the rope. I was thinking to connect 2 twin strollers. And if i would have 2 walking kids, they hold on to the stroller. And i am a winner ! :) )

My daughter is 10 months old. She has outgrown her infant car seat and I’m thinking about purchasing Graco Nautilus 3-1 car seat, however, I’m wondering if it’s only used in a forward facing position or can it be used rear facing as well?

My friend is getting married in Turkey and our other friend is concerned about the safety of bringing a baby (she will be 9-10 months at the time). Does anyone have experience/advice about traveling with a young child to Istanbul.

I have read 20 lbs, 30 lbs, 8 months, 10 months 12 months. I can’t seem to get a good solid answer for this. My 9 month old is getting close to being to long for rear facing but she is only 20 lbs. What do you think? Or what did you do?

Can my baby be forward facing in the car yet?

My son is just a few days shy of 10 months. He weighs 21 1/2 pounds and is about 31 inches long. He sits up on his own, crawls, and even pulls himself up to a standing position. He has even started to walk while holding onto things. He is a very sturdy, tough boy. He is in a regular car seat that can be forward or rear facing. I still have it facing the rear, but was wondering how long before I can turn it.

convertable car seats?

i have nothing but good reviews on the Graco – MyRIDE 65 Convertible Baby Car Seat. here is a list of the best sellers at walmart. this car seat is number 1 but i would get the purple one. my daughter is a little more than 18 lbs and about 27inches and 10 months old were looking into the next car seat. she infant car seat is in the middle seat of our 4door cavilier so its a small car and i would like to put her new car seat in the middle as well depending on how tall this car seat is. i am planning on having her face backwards for as long as its reccomended by the seat which its up to 40 lbs. would this be considered a 2nd stage or 3rd stage? also how does the price affect the car seat like there are ones are those really safe any advice

http://www.walmart.com/browse/Car-Seats/_/N-2rqvZ1yzpl0eZaq90Zaqce/Ne-aqwk?tab_value=All&tc=20&ref=125863.129271+501428.4292612510&search_sort=5&selected_items=+&catNavId=91365

the question on the prices is kind of wondering are the expensive ones just way more safer than the cheap ones? i may buy off brand items but when it comes to a car seat or somthing that is protecting my childs life i am willing to spend whatever

Question about extended rear facing?

Did you do it until your child reached the car seat weight limit?
I plan on it but have a question. My son is a tiny boy. Only about 19 lbs at 10 months old. His convertible seat is rated until 35 lbs rear facing. With how little he is, he may be rear facing well into his second and possibly third year of life.
Did any of you moms have a child rear facing this long? I worry he will see others sitting forward and start to give me trouble about RF. Am I needlessly worrying? Did your children show a distaste for RF at a certain age?
Yes, I am the parent, I make the rules – but we all like a happy baby. A happy baby makes traveling a lot easier.
If any of you mommies have tips for making RF easier for older children, please share!!
Thanks Sarah, but I have already made my decision based on reports I have read. In my opinion, it is safer. I’m not as concerned about his feet as I am about his head and neck.

My daughter is 10 months old, but 33 inches long, and 21 pounds! Her little legs seem to have to bend a lot to fit in the rear facing car seat. She wears a 2T top, and he Easter dress was a 2T, and she is wicked long!

Isn’t it a bigger safety concern to have her legs bent in case of an accident than to turn her convertible car seat into a forward facing one?

Thoughts????

Today is the first day that I am picking up the kids from day care without using a baby carrier for the little one and I am not sure how to go about it. My son is 2.5 years old and my daughter is 10 months. What is the best way to get them both into the car and strapped in, without leaving one unattended, or giving the toddler the chance to run away?
This is not a control thing, 2 year olds can bolt at any time, even if you tell them not to. That’s how they are.

Baby safety class………?

my boyfriend and i attended a baby safety class today and i just wanted to share some helpful information with all the parents.

Walkers are banned in a few stated and illegal in canada due to development delays. a baby that uses a walker on a regular basis is most likely to be bow legged and walk on tippy toes. it also slows the development of abdominal and back muscles. the teacher said the seat (the part of fabric that goes between babys legs) is not very comfortable and could cause the bowleggedness. he said its like if we would walk around with a pillow between our legs…now very comfy lol. it would cause the baby to walk on its tippy toes because if you have seen a baby in a walker you have seen that all the do is push/pull them selves around with their toes. a baby is ready to walk at around 10 months. when they start to pull up on things is when they are getting ready to walk. putting a 5 month old in a walker would just slow the process. IF you choose to use a walker, use it for no more than 20 minutes per day.

the bumbo seat is recalled. they still sell it in stores because people buy them. along with most other recalled item. not all of them are taken out of stores because people continue to buy them. check this website for recalled items. http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/category/child.html

for the first year of a babys life, the only thing that should be in a crib is the fitted sheet and the baby. bumpers and comforters should not be used. for more information on comforters and bumper safety go to www.aap.org/policy/re9946.html

i thought this information would be helpful. if any of you find some of this information false, i apologies…im just telling you what i heard and what is on the information packet that was handed out.

This morning myself and my children were in a pretty bad wreck where the guy hit us coming off the interstate at full speed. We are all shaken up, but physically just sore. My kids ages 4 years & 10 months are all in one piece thanks to their Britax seats, thank goodness.

My van is a goner and I know I have to replace my kids’ seats as well. Will this guys insurance cover my kids Britax seats? I know by law they have to pay for other seats, but will they cover over 0.00 for Britax? I want my kids to be in the same seats. My infant daughter was in a roundabout and my 4 year old son was in a brand new (purchased last month) Marathon. I have receipts for neither, because the roundabout was my sons and was purchased 3 years ago so that recpt. is long gone. The Marathon was purchased NEW sealed in the box from a carseat seller on eBay. I have the payapl invoice for it from last month, but no "real" recpt.

The doctor told me when she is one and over 20lbs, well she is 10 months and over 20lbs, why is it that they tell you to wait tilll they are one yr old too? Shouldn’t the weight be enough? Or does something automatically happen to their bodies when they turn one?

Well, the carrying around has helped me lose pregnancy fat from my arms, so it’s great.
What age was your baby when you stopped using the infant carrier/car seat?

I use it when I go grocery shopping, and keep her in it and put it in the grocery cart.

She is 10 months old and still fits very well in it, she’s kinda small, so I’m just wondering when did you stop using it?
