We have an almost 4 yr old and are due with our second child in 5 months. We have everything we need, but a friend warned me against using our carseat and stroller again, becuase it may be out of safety regulation being almost 4 yrs old. It’s a Chicco KeyFit 30, and had great safety ratings when we purchased it. Any one know typically how many years a travel system is good for?

i have a transit flight for 9 hours to be stay inside dubai airport. i have a 5 months baby with me. i cant carry him for 9 hours in the airport so i wanna have my stroller with me. but i think they will not allow me to take it inside the plane. if i will check it in then i will not be able to get it on transit airport.

My baby is 5 months old, and I wasn’t sure when I should pull the bumper pad out from her crib. I have an older daughter, but i don’t remember what they told me when she was small. For some reason I’m thinking when she’s old enough to start pulling herself up, but I really don’t know. I know it can be for safety reasons, b/c she could sufficate, but I also thought it was so they can’t get caught up in the slates. Thanks for all your help!

Hi – My daughter is 5 months old (23 weeks) and is exclusively breastfed. I am planning to start her on solids once she completes 6 months and is in the process of getting ready. I was wondering which high chair did you like best for your baby.

I live in an apartment, so something compact yet sturdy and easily stored will be nice.

I am looking to purchase an Ergo Baby Carrier, it can be worn on the front, hip and as a backpack. My baby is 5 months old and i was wondering if she’d be able to be in it as a backpack.

My son is very large for his age and at 5 months old had to be switched to a convertable car seat! At 11 months he already has his knees bent from not having enough room rear facing since hes so tall. I’ve been counting the days for his 1 year birthday to turn the seat around. Now they recommend until 2 years old? Is it safe for his knees to be bent in order to keep him rear facing longer? What should I do?
I never heard of this because he is my first child and my pediatrician said 1 year.

Or can I just use a folded blanket instead?

My son is 2 months old now but is a bigger baby. Is this insert for extra head support or is it just to fill in space for smaller babies?

Any advice appreciated from moms who have the Ergo (with or without this insert).

Misty, really? I know all about Mei Tais (or "mitiahs", as you call them). I don’t like them – at least not yet (I might like them more when my LO gets bigger). I also own a Moby and a ring sling…My question was about the Ergo specifically, so yeah…thanks.
Thanks for the answers so far ("Cherry" and "I’d Rather…"). Since my son is already 2 months old, I don’t want to spend an extra on an already really expensive carrier unless I really need to (The insert is only for infants 4-6 months old – I doubt he will need it past 4-5 months). Of course I won’t let his head bobble about – I just think that there might be something else I can use instead of this particular insert.

My Son is 22 pounds and he just turned 5 months old. We currently have a Graco car seat, the ones where you can take the entire car seat out and carry it with the rear facing base. He still fits in the car seat okay, but I was wondering if we need to look into bigger car seats? If so, which ones.

I have the Chicco Keyfit 30 car seat and my daughter really dislikes it. It makes her too hot and now that she can sit she doesn’t like the reclined seat. I’m thinking of just doing away with it and getting her a convertible car seat but not sure if she’s the right age/weight for it.

She is 16lbs and 6.5 months (28 weeks).

Anyone know if she would fit the weight requirement for a convertible car sear?
What’s the best convertible car seats in your opinion?
If not convertible car seat, what other car seats have you had luck with?

He is only 5 months old therefore I still need to carry him in the carseat because he can not walk. I am just afraid he will his that 22-25 lb mark before you know it and already looks a little uncomfortable in the car seat we have now. I got the best one that Chicco infant car seat but he looks snug what should I do? Do you think he will gain the weight and what kind of convertible car seat should I buy? I have a 2 year old and am 5 months pregnant with another child, so my hubby and I are going to be looking into buying a double stroller soon.
I know nothing about double strollers or which kind to buy, so I could use some help.
My first question is what do they mean by tandem stroller? My second question is where would I find a decent double stroller that isn’t too pricey, I’m specifically looking for one that would fit an infant carrier in the back of it and then my 2 yr old would sit in the front seat of the stroller. And do those strollers fit any infant carriers or do they specifically come with their own?

He puked all over then and so I left them outside and forgot about them and now they have some spots of mold. I am so upset because this car seat is only 5 months old. Does anyone know what I can do to get it out.
I was told not to use bleach because it causes the fibers in the material to rot so when in an accident the straps could break.

my husband is from mexico and he hasnt seen his family in a long time and we really want to go we were planning to go but then i got pregnant ! my angel is almost 5 months and we wanna go asap, so i was just wondering if anyone had experiences with traveling with a baby or some advice on a good age.

I bought one of those car seat covers that has fleece or whatever it is on the inside of it, and you can unzip a part of it for the baby to see out of it, etc…I was wondering do I have to use one of those huge snow suits? My baby is 2.5 months now and is my first, and will be about 6 months when the real winter hits, around december or january. We live in Minnesota so yes it definitely gets VERY cold, especially with the wind chill. However those snow suits seem really annoying and I heard can be hard to deal with in a car seat. If I can avoid those suits what I should I have her wear instead? Will the cover itself be enough to keep her warm, if she’s not outside for a long period of time? Thanks.
