Ok, I have this friend and her and I have 2 children each who are the same age. Our sons are 5 and our daughters are 8.5 months. I already put my daughter into a convertable car seat and she is still "searching"for the one that she really wants. The thing is our babies are 24-25 pounds (big girls). She still has her daughter in an infant car seat and she is getting ready to buy her convertable car seat. She is going to put her foward facing cause "it is easier on her" I know that the law says they have to be 1 yr AND 20lbs and my daughter IS rear facing in her big girl car seat. She says she doesnt care and that the baby will be fine, but I really care about her kids. Also her son should still be in a booster seat (he just turned 5) and she has had him out of his car seat since the baby was born because she says "2 car seats take up too much space". I have looked up all the laws and regulations online and fowarded them to her and she still doesnt get it. How do I tell her she is wrong

I want to know your experience on/with convertible car seats for infants. We have a Safety 1st convertible one and my son’s head hangs way down and over when he sleeps in it. It looks very uncomfortable and stressful on his neck. He is still sleeping right much during the day which means he has to sleep in the car sometimes.
He is over 19 pounds and is 6.5 months. We are moving him out of his baby seat since he is getting so close to the weight limit on it and it seems to tight anyway. We are trying to find one that will grow with him up to 80 pounds if possible. I will pay extra for something comfortable and safe for him. Any advice and help is so appreciated!! Thanks!
We have the seat that is rear facing, but is a convertible seat, so he is still rear facing for now. Up until one year I think.

My baby is 5 months old -she hates the car seat and hates the car!
If the timing is right I can get her asleep before we have to leave but that is not always possible! Uhhh – she cries and screams in the carseat. I can only assume its because – she is confined to that little seat and that we can’t pick her up!

I am pregnant with my second child and was wondering when I should pack my bag and put the baby seat in the car. With my first I was so excited/ nervous I had everything ready at 5 months. I am trying to control myself this time. I am 31 weeks today. When did you get ready?

For four adults AND an infant carrier/car seat, that’s great on gas? Something the size of a Nissan Altima or bigger.
We’re driving about 6 hours (says Y! Maps, but with a baby its going to be longer!) to Atlanta, so it needs to be really comfortable too! Mom and I are hoping its going to be just us and Jamie (who will be… 5 months then) but worse case scenario its all four of us.

My swing and my baby’s bouncy seat both are only good up to 25 lbs. My son in 5 months old and 18lbs, but he’s really tall 27 inch so it seems like he’s grown out of these items now or pretty soon. I can’t seem to find any item like these past 25 lbs, any ideas??

Hello eveyone!
I’m just wondering if anybody can help me out. I am currently 5 months pregnant and I’m expecting my baby in July. I have a 1997 Jeep TJ and was wondering if anyone knows it is a safe vehicle to drive with a small rear facing infant car seat? The reason I ask is that the back seat of a Jeep Wrangler is a little more narrow then that of a car, also the back seats sit so high up that there is no metal protecting the baby since the window starts right about where the seat is… Anyways if someone knows anything about this or knows where I could find the info I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
I would never drive it with no roof on and it currently has a fiber glass hard top on it.

How do i start this.. im 19 and 5 months pregnant, im living at home til i have a job to get out..
But its proving difficult.. this is where is starts..
My mother is verbally and has been physically abusive for years and years.. now im pregant she is horribly abusive verbally and as assaulted me twice while being pregnant. I live with my step father aswell.. they are breaking up soon and so the domestics here get really bad..I hate my stepfather as he s controlling and abusive.. he hates my partner ( my baby’s father) and threats to hurt him if he comes here even to pick me up..
My mother called me a "fat pregnant bitch" amoung many of things.. but the thing is im stuck here until im making an income to move out with my partner.. he is trying really hard to get things moving with us getting our own place.. but i ont think i can stay here anymore.. she threatend me last night and i hate her guts but i dont no how to get out of here… im scared she is going to kill my unborn child.. what do i do?
Well for erica, id like to say, she hasnt paid for a damn thing for me and my baby! i ay rent and food here so i have every right to be here. I dont expect her to support me thank you very much. I didnt no tha people condone a "mother" to punch her pregnant daughter in the temple and subject her to stress that could harm the baby.
My mother is absolutely crazy.. she tried to kill my father and then he left, she physically abused my stepfather alot of the time, which he never does anything about.

So I’m from the U.S. and here of course we have strict child restraint laws which I fully believe in. My husband and I are currently living in his home country and here there are no restraint laws what so ever. In the 5 months that I’ve been here I haven’t saw one child in a car seat. You can be driving down the freeway and look over and see a car weaving in and out of traffic and a mother sitting in the passenger seat unbuckled and holding a baby that couldn’t be more than a month or two old. This absolutely enrages me that someone could be either so uneducated they don’t know the danger they’re putting the child in OR they just don’t care. My husband says it’s not my business what they do and I shouldn’t worry about other people, because it’s not my country to begin with (which is kind of true) but it really does sicken me that everyday you see this numerous times. If it’s not that, the car will have toddlers hopping all around the car and one small wreck would throw them through the wind-shield, probably killing them.
Would that make you mad or could you just look at it and act like nothing was wrong?

I kept a graco front facing car seat from 1999, it was my son’s. it cost around 9.00 back then. The car seat is still in great condition and I want to use it for my daughter when she is big enough in a few months. It’s one of those carseats with a bar that comes down over the child’s head. Are those still considered safe to use now? Do they still meet the safety standards? How would I find out?
I would not be asking if it was safe if I knew it wasn’t. And believe me if I find out it’s not, then I will be purchasing a new 2008 one. I value my daughter ‘s life and I will not be using it if it’s not safe. It was just a question people, I have 5 months before she can even use a foward facing seat.
