the car seats tether straps to or is that what is needed to install the anchor kit? I am so confused! Today all of the newer cars have the metal hooks in the seats, and I did not know if they could do that to my car or what. Thank you for all your help!!!

I have a little girl that will be 22 Months when her brother is born in June. I have been looking at buying a double stroller, and an infant car seat for the boy. I have looked at all kinds/Prices and can’t decide.
Here is where i’m at so far:
**Baby trend sit and stand: Con:flimsy/ not much storage/ not much room Pro:cheap/ fits most car seat
**Graco Duo Glider: C: not much room/ ugly color/ front doesn’t recline Pro: fairly cheap/ lots of storage
**Baby Jogger city walk: C: much more expensive/ not sure which car seats will fit on it, P: lots of room, very versatile for configurations
**Phil and Teds Vibe: C very expensive/ not sure i like the back seat low to the ground/ not much storage/ hard to fold when i tried in the store/not sure which car seat fits. P: looks great/maneuverable
As far as car seats go i need one that will work with what ever stroller i get: i like the Britax infant but im not sure which stroller it would work with, Graco Snug ride has good ratings and is cheaper, and the baby trend is what my daughter had and worked well.
So please let me know if you have had good/or bad experiences with any of these and if im missing any that i should look at. Bottom line: what double stroller should i get and what car seat (that works with it) should i get?
Than you!

Cars seem to keep getting smaller while car seats seem to keep getting wider.
What’s the smallest car you have seen with 2 rear facing car seats in it?

We bought a car seat and went out to install the base in our car. our cars are 7 and 9 years old and dont have a latch system in the seats. so we installed the seatbelt across the base as the directions stated and that went well. our question is, is the side of the base facing the driver’s seat suppose to move/go up and down? what i mean is i can grab it and lift it off the seat although the side buckled down does stay secure. is this normal for all car seats?

The door closest to the car seat looks like it MIGHT be damaged, however the impact was slight and the car seat looks like it never came in contact with the door. We live in a Tort state, it SHOULD be entirely the other guy’s fault (he ran a red light and drove into my hubby driving home, no one else was in either car though.) Claim adjusters have a nasty habit of trying to wiggle out of car seat replacement (especially since this is a 0 car seat…) Should I insist on a replacement? Or is this a minor enough accident to not need one?
Britax has higher standards making it one of the only car seats you don’t replace after a minor accident. We meet every criteria for a minor accident EXCEPT that the door, while appearing not to be damaged, cannot open (so that indicates some level of damage.)

My baby is out growing her infant seat and it it time to upgrade. I know that some car seats are made specifically for some cars so that the install easier and with the latch system they have tie downs in different places. How do I find out which car seat fits best in which car, specifically in a 2005 BMW x3. thanks for your help.

I have to buy my son a new car seat ASAP!!! He is 7 months old. I have a very small car a Kia Spectra. I cant decide between a Britax Decathalon, Brutax Roundabout, Racaro, or a Radian80. Please give me some advice. They are all very good car seats. I need the smaller of the 4, my car is VERY small, and he will be rear facing for along time yet. Which would fit better??
Because my son is almost past the weight limit of his infant seat

My son is almost 3.5 years and weighs just over 18 kilos. We have a Safe n Sound Maxi Rider AHR booster seat and he is currently in the 5 point harness, He still has heaps of room in the seat and harness but I know that once they are 18 kilos, you are supposed to have them with just the adult seat belt through the booster seat and stop using the harness.
I know that harnesses are tested to 22 kilos so would it be okay to leave him in the 5 point harness for another couple of kilos? I don’t think it is safe to stop using the harness.
Why on earth doesn’t Australia have car seats where you can use a 5 point harness over 18 kilos? It is completely unsafe.

My child is 4 1/2 years old, 30lbs and approx 42-44 inches tall. She is tall and very skinny. She is starting to become too tall for her current seat and we need to buy a new one. I want to keep her in a 5 point harness for AS LONG AS POSSIBLE. She is way too tiny to be in a booster with a seat belt. So my question is: what is the best car seat for keeping her in a 5 point for as long as possible? I want this to be the last seat we have to buy and I intend to pass it on to our youngest when my oldest grows out of it. (depending on growth) Money is an issue so cheaper is definitely better. We don’t have 0 for a car seat, but feel free to include the expensive ones in the list of car seats. There are just so many out there it’s overwhelming and confusing. Thank you for you for your help!

Just being who I am, I am VERY safety conscious when it comes to children, ESPECIALLY in car seats. My neighbour’s have a three – almost four year old – who is on the larger side for his age. My guess would be 50, maybe closer to 55lbs. He is currently in a car seat that goes up to 40lbs harness, to be specific, a Cosco Scenera. Though this car seat is safe for children rear facing 5-30lbs, and in a harness forward facing until 40lbs, this is NOT safe for him. I know the safer option is to get a car seat that goes up to 65lbs (at least) forward facing, then on to a booster, but they are more "cheap" end – they would just rather get a booster seat and be done with it.
Personally, the safety of your child is worth the extra $$. He is clearly not ready to use the adult belt however. The car seat he is using is currently NOT installed correctly, and he isn’t even buckled properly in it. They do up the chest clip (which is PLASTIC, CLEARLY not enough to hold a child – especially of his size – in there), and just say that the straps are too tight to do the crotch straps up. Have they even TRIED to loosen them? No. Are they probably too small even at the largest size? Probably.
Now, I am only fourteen years old. I have been in his life ever since he was a newborn. I care for him like I would care for my brother, or even my own son. I would really prefer to suggest to them a Graco Nautilus (about 0 here), Evenflo Generations65 (probably 0ish here), or other similar seat, and install it in their car properly, however I know their response already – its too expensive! We are in Canada, so its not like we can just find a decent seat on Amazon for a decent price and order it, since the law for car seat states it must have the "Canadian sticker" on it.
Suggestions what I can do? Sorry its so long, I had a lot to explain!
I am thinking about helping them find a GOOD 5pt harness/ booster for a decent price, around 0. Any suggestions on car seats? Any suggestions on a Canadian car seat website?
Thank you so much ♥
It isn’t really a question of the child getting a car seat or getting to eat, its basically they just don’t want to spend they money on a car seat. I am not really in a position to buy one right now though. (n)

I found out last Tuesday that the center I work for had taken the 1-5 year olds on a field trip using a school bus…there are no restraints and they did not use the car seats left behind by the parents. My daughter attends that center as well. She was sick that day so neither of us were there, I would not allowed her nor my children in my care to go on the bus (I am the 3 year old preschool teacher) without making sure the parents were aware of this. Apparently the other teachers had to just hold the infants. The ride was over an hour long each way. Is this legal? I will be putting in my 2 weeks on Monday…there are many other issues with this center as well…very unprofessional. and shady and I want nothing to do with it.
Please if someone would tell me what is the legal age for children to be on a regular old school bus without restraints, if you have a MN state site to verify that would be great too!
Thank you!
They had taken them to Chucky Cheese…which I don’t think it was appropriate to take the "Twaddlers" (1-2 1/2 years old) with. The parents had the option of having their child stay behind, but I know they were under the impression they were going to be restrained properly…I am just furious this would happen!
Another thing that goes to show how grand our director is…she has a 21 month old who she allowed to go on the bus without restraints…she drove in another vehicle.
I thank you for all of your input…if any body has any other opinions or facts to share please add them.
Thanks!

My daughter is six months old and 18 pounds, she is almost too big for her car seat but I’m afraid to switch to the upright car seats till she’s 20 pounds. However she’s really tall about 27 inches and her head almost goes to the top of her car seat. Is it time to just upgrade anyway though she’s 2 pounds under the limit? I hope this makes sense.

I am looking to purchase 2 new car seats for my sons and have decided on a convertible booster, which stupidly enough is legal in my country for a child aged only 6 months old.
Anyway, the range available in Australia sucks to say the least, and is quite limited. Chest clips (5 point harness) are not even something that is standard on *most* Australian made car seats. The Safe n Sound (Britax) one is the only one I like, yet they are upwards of 0.
The configuration in my car is a clip that is bolted to the rear of my car and attached to the car seat, as well as the seat belt slid through and clipped in. Is this the same and is it to ok to purchase a seat that doesn’t meet A/NZ standards but is clearly superior anyway?
Plus the strong Aussie dollar doesn’t hurt when making purchase aborad atm!
Also, is Evenflo a respectable brand? What is the ‘best’ carseat brand?

I have 3 car seats in the back of my car, I was wondering if I could buy a seat belt extender to make the process of buckling in easier?

I drive a 2005 Mustang. and so does one of my friends. One of my friends is looking around for car seats. About a year ago they came out with a car seat that was designed like a race car seat. With the fancy seat belt on it. It was in a street car magazine. But now that I need to know what brand it is to find it, I cant find the mag or any car seat similar to it. Please help!
