They should revise F1 rules during safety car periods more? and allow cars that are really dew for their pitstop…
What are your views?

I just turned 15 and I am looking for a car. Safety is important (at least 4 stars for front and back) because once I turn 16 I will have to carry friends, my little brother, and possibly other children if I’m babysitting. I want something with good gas mileage and thats good for the environment too. Looking good is kind of important, but its not a necessity. Does anyone have any ideas of cars that fit this description?
My little boy turned a year old last week and he’s a little over 20 lbs…I just bought a new car seat (Graco Nautilus) because I felt he was bored in his rear-facing seat (Chicco KeyFit up to 22 lbs), plus the cover on it made him really hot and sweaty no matter how high the A/C would be, causing him to be cranky in the car. This new car seat’s minimum weight is 20 lbs, we put him today and he loved it! he was able to view everything needless to say the cars eat is very comfy…My question is: am I being irresponsible for switching him to a forward facing seat already? I mean the minimum requirements are 1 year old and 20 lbs right? but I know some people say "keep them rear-facing for as long as possible" which with my Chicco KeyFit would only be possible for a few more months when he’s 22 lbs…any suggestions? advice? encouragement words?
Thanx

Whenever you read anything on car seat safety, there are always warnings to never buy them second hand because you don’t know if they have been damaged in an accident and can’t always tell by looking, etc. But the Once Upon a Child near us sells them, and my mom mentioned a Kid to Kid near her doing the same thing. It seems really irresponsible to me and would think there was some oversight of places like that.
I don’t have a problem with getting a car seat from a trusted friend/relative who you know well, you’d probably know of they had any problems with and they aren’t looking for a profit.
I am just really curious about this..I’d love to find an "old" Britax Roundabout because they changed the design to where it wouldn’t fit our cars as well but would never trust a used one from a stranger.
ETA: I am not looking to buy one, I am just surprised that stores around here sell/accept them. I was curious if stores in other areas do the same, apparently they don’t.
In my area, low income parents can get free car seats from the health department-if that wasn’t available I guess I could see that buying a second hand seat would be a better option than not having one if a parent was just totally strapped for cash.
I need sources for this, by the way.
What are cars made out of?
What are airbags made of?
What are the advantages/disadvantages of the material airbags are made of?
Info or links to sites about the effectiveness of car satefy features would also be very helpful.
And statistics about how much certain car safety features i.e. airbags, seatbelts, crumple zones etc. would help too.
Thanks.
I plan on taking my 2 1/2 year old to see the new movie Cars in June, I am not sure if his price will be cheaper since he is a toddler or does it not matter and will still be an adults price?
i need to get my son a new car seat because he’s growing out of his infant car seat (hes 6months so he’s still rear facing). i bought a cosco scenera not realizing that not all car seats fit in all cars. how can i figure out which carseat work for my car? (i’d prefer him in the middle using the LATCH system)

I’m planning to have 3 children and would like to avoid the mini van if I could. Are there any other vehicles including SUV’s that hold 3 car seats??
I have 2005 toyota Rav 4 and 3 cars seasts definately do not fit in the back. A 3rd person cannot even fit between the 2 car seats.
In the "Cars & Transportation > Safety" category, many of the questions have to do with the song lyric about the decision to be "kicking in the front seat" or "sitting in the back seat".
First, are these questions inspired by the song or did the songwriter see the questions on Yahoo and write a song about them?
Second, is there one person using many accounts to spam the category with the same question, or are there many different individuals each posting the same question?
my daughter is goin to be 4 yr old this month. She is potty trained like in the home she let us know, she holds on it in her school for 2 hrs, and she doesn’t pee any where in the stores, parks only time she pees is in the car seat for e.g. today i even took her to toilet after her school so that she wouldn’t pee but she still wet eventhough she didn’t even drink that much water, i mean whats up with her? i know she can hold why does she do that no matter how much we tell her not to but she doesn’t care she just apologized once and alright busy in her playing and stuff and then next again? I mean she’s a big girl i don’t recall when i was 4 yr old peeing in the cars. I want her to get her off pull ups completely but peeing in the car is a whole big issue. Please give me some good advices. Does any one else suffer from the same kind of issue?
Hi I have a Ford Mustang Convertible and i am trying to replace the old headrests with 2 new ones. My problem is that the old ones have a single prong or metal piece from the middle holding it to the seat while the new ones have 2 prongs on each side (Universal) which is common in most cars. Is there a way that i can change the leather seat by drilling or cutting to accommodate to the 2 prong system? or maby somthing even eaiser then that.
