What do you use?
My son will be 19 months old in a few days, and I think it’s time we stop using the high chair and having him sit at the table with us. We have one of those portable high chair things that hooks onto the table, but I’m looking for more of a booster seat type thing that I can still strap him into, but that hooks onto one of our regular chairs.
Does anyone have any suggestions on any particular brands or types?

My daughter is 2.5 years old and about 30-31lbs and I also have a 10 month old infant. I was wondering when would be a good time to switch my toddler into a booster chair? I want to use my toddlers current car seat for my infant since she’s outgrown her infant car seat.
If I must, I’ll buy another convertable car seat for my infant but I’m trying to save money… I saw that the turbo booster chairs are cheaper.
Thanks in advance
Thank you so much! I wasn’t aware I could keep my child past 40lbs and 4 years in a 5pt harness.
I saw a few booster seats that stated that the minimum is 30lbs for child to use but I was uneasy about that… that’s why I asked…
After seeing the videos I am now sure that my gilrs will continue to use a 5 point harness until they are developmentally ready to use a seat belt.
Thanks!

hi – just wondering what you make of this.
today i collected my daughter, who just turned 2. when i knocked on the door i was let in. i was looking around for my daughter and the minder was quiet for a few seconds and then pointed on the floor.
My daughter was strapped into one of those bouncer chairs that babies are kept in. When i asked the girl why my daughter was strapped in to a babies chair i was told it was because her and a another boy (younger than her) were fighting and she bit him really hard – so she just put her there a few seconds before i knocked to tend to the little boy that was crying and to check if his hand was OK.
What do you think – seriously – i know my daughter was wrong bitting – but was it a bit extreme strapping her in like that so she couldnt move? Any child minder’s out there that think this is ok and normal, because now i am wondering if they do this all of the time with her.

I think all booster chairs should be in the back row, but my husband argues that it’s safer in the front passenger seat. Does anyone have any info on where is the safest place to have a child in a booster seat sit while riding in a convertible car?

I have a budget already to start up but need to know everything that is needed by the State law so I can get the green light to begin? I am not asking anyone here if i should open a shop so please do not give me your opinion. Ijust want to know what is needed. Thank you!

details: the wedding is in October. We would be looking for something that can accommodate 100 guests plus dancing. we have a caterer we just need a venue. We don’t want to use a loft as that usually requires renting chairs tables etc and we don’t want to do that. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Anything within bronx, manhattan, queens, or mt. vernon, Pelham.

In the US I have a great Britax Frontier
http://www.britaxusa.com/products/product_detail.aspx?ID=15
that has a 5 point harness for children up to 80lbs (36.2873896 kg). I want to buy one in the UK for our trips there, but the group 2-3 chairs only have the 5 point harness for kids of 40lb max! Why is this?
From what I hear, Britax USA are discontinuing all their chairs for bigger kids that don’t have 5 point harnesses. So why does the same company have different safelty rules in different countires?
Also, in the US most seat belts are locking (your fully retract them and then release at which point the seat belt locks so that the child cannot pull the belt forwards – this is particularly good if your child falls alseep and leans forward, as they are still held in position). Not only do UK (and the rest of Europe?) seat belt not have locks, but the chaisr also do not. In the US, you can buy a "locking clip" that will at least hold the lap part of the belt tight ( even if the shoulder part still moves). Why are these not sold with all UK car seats?
http://www.carseatsite.com/lockingclips.htm
I’m baffled by the differences. I don’t feel safe having my 4 yrs old, 43.5lb son in a booster seat only. I really feel that he’s safer with a 5 point harness.
Any insight would be great.
Thanks

Our twins are long babies and weigh about 20lb.
They are no longer comfortably sitting in the car seat facing back as their legs are so long and they end up just kicking the seat and rocking the chairs.
They hold their heads up properly and have done this since birth so I’m satisfied they can do it properly now! lol
They will be 7 months old on the 26th.

Why do we have seat restraints on carnival rides, roller coasters, cars, trucks, Hi chairs, car seats, etc. But we have no restraints in school buses, too expensive, well is one seat belt worth a childs life?
