We will be going to the U.S for the first time in October and will be taking our 18 month old daughter. I am just wondering whether it will be a challenge in terms of using transport with her, ie equipped cabs, buses (public and tour buses).
In Australia there is no restraint laws for buses, what laws are there in NY? and how easy is it to get a cab with a child seat in it?
I’m planning to travel to Texas this Christmas on American Airlines, and I have a 4 year old daughter. Obviously, she still sits in a child seat in the car, but is she required to in an airplane?
My mom and I have been agruing if my son can sit in the backseat without the child safety seat. My son is two and half years old already and I think he doesn’t need a safety child seat anymore and he can sit in the backseat with a seatbelt on.. What do you think?
Anyone know of a good website that clearly explains the child seat vs booster requirements/laws by state? So far everything I’ve found seems confusing and changes constantly.
I’m writing a novel in which a character drives a 1986.5 Toyota Supra. She has a baby. Can she fit an infant seat into the Supra? How about when he gets older — say 1.5 to 2 years old; is there a child seat that would fit into the Supra?
the arguement is that it is illegal to have a child seat in front seat of your car so is it just as dangerous to be in the seat of a truck

I would just like to find out where should the child seat be placed?
Other Info: I drive a left hand drive vehicle
Thank you!
my son rides in his car seat in my 99 corvette, there is no key switch to defeat the bag,it should not be used with a child seat
I realize there is no switch, but isn’t an accelerometer used to trigger airbags?Probably located in the front someplace. It’s location and instructions to disable it without setting off the bag would be useful
I tried to install a second child seat in our 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee over the weekend. Believe it or not, the manual says to install the second one in the front seat, as there is a special adapter on the seat belt buckle that keeps it tight. Obviously, this isn’t acceptable these days – can’t put a car seat in the front seat.
Have any of you had this problem? What did you do? The back seat belts do not have this adapter, and do not "cinch (spelling?)".
My neighbors have a 9 months old infant. They don’t use a child safety seat when riding in the car. The baby is ALWAYS on the mother’s lap and in the front seat. There isn’t even a child seat in the car. I’d like to make an anonymous tip to the police, but I’m not sure how to do this. Don’t the police actually have to catch them in the act? Also does anyone know the penalty for not using a child-safety seat in Wisconsin? These parents aren’t young (mom is over 30, dad is over 40) and they ceratainly aren’t poor. I don’t understand why they are taking this chance with their precious child…
My husband was got in a minor accident and your daughter’s convertable child seat was installed in the car. My husband was in the car alone.
The car seat is for my four year old child.
The damage to the car is to the hood and bumper area of the car since a lady turned right infront of him and he did not have enough time to stop.
We’re expecting our first baby in June.
Putting the baby seat in the back seat of my wife’s car is no problem.
however, I drive a Pickup with a regular cab (no back seat) – full-size pickup, 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500. The pickup owner’s manual says that it’s OK to put a child seat in the front seat (passenger side) as long as:
– (A) the passenger side airbag is shut off (there’s a switch on the dash to do this).. and
– (B) the child is in a rear-facing child seat that is correctly installed, etc.
My question is this – is the rear-facing child seat in the front of the pickup just as safe as the regular seat in the back seat of the car?
Any links to websites or studies, or other web-links with more information would be most appreciated.
THANK YOU !!!

I read online to go to http://www.nhtsa.gov/ BUT It said to click on "child seat ratings" and I could not find that stupid button!!! Can anybody direct me to the list of child car seat safety ratings? Please look at the site first before you type it in. I’m looking for the ratings for a Cosco Scenera 5 point car seat.
Thanks
