My son is currently in his infant rear facing car seat, and he’s growing like crazy. So I’m starting to look for bigger one. Being a first timer at this whole parent thing, I have no idea what to look for. I’m guess I should get a convertable one. My sons car seat holds up to 22lbs, but he’s already 19lbs. So… Yeah. I have an ’09 Mazda 3. (4 door). I don’t want something to be huge, and bulky… but then I don’t want something junky, and unsafe. What would you suggest I get? THANKS!!!!

it’s a tight fit with the convertable I got, it’s a graco my ride 65.
It does not move at all much to the left and right but I feel like there should be a tether or something even though it is in rear position. I can grab top pack of it and push it foward if that makes sense it lifts up. My infant car seat did same thing. Is that normal?

My son is 7 1/2 months old. He is tired of his infant car seat and unless he’s sleeping he just HATES being strapped in. We are in the car alot because we got out of town every weekend and the drive is 2 hours there 2 back.. So I want a carseat that will be very comfortable for my son and one he will be able to fall asleep in. I would like for him to be able to easily play with toys while strapped in and a cup holder for his drink. I would like it to go up to at least 40-50 lbs and he’s still under 20 at the moment. What do you recommend? Also, if yours has arm rest does your child ever even use it?
By "hating being stapped in" I mean strapped down. In his infant carrier he is still more reclined than he would be in a convertable carseat. It has the sides that come up around him and he is contantly fighting against the restraint trying to sit up more.

I have 3 kids and would like a convertable. All seem to only have 5 seat belts… Is there any hope for a mom of 3 to have a cool car?

Has anyone used the Sunshine Kids Radian 80 convertable car seat? I’ve heard that it has good ratings and can be used up to 80 lbs. It’s around the same price as a couple Britax models, but they only hold up to 65 lbs. My daughter is 8 months and 16 lbs, 25 inches, so she still has a ways to go until she outgrows her infant seat. I’m just not sure how to choose a seat. Help please?

my son is only four months, but he is already almost too long for his infant carrier/car seat. Now I need to find a good convertable seat…one that works without LATCH, will hold a long baby in rear facing, and will hold a big baby in both. What would you reccomend, how much is it, and what do you like/dislike?

I think Im leaning more towards a Combi or Peg Perego infant carrier
and for a convertable a Britax Marathon (my daughter has the Britax Boulevard and I just dont care for the wings so i want to try a differant one)
Anyways Im still researching ofcourse and i have a long ways to go still but its always fun to look! lol So what have you decided on and why did you go with that one?

I have a Boulevard for my daughter, This one:

And I love everything about it, except the wings for the head, I thought it would be great but its really worse than good.
I was just wondering which one is your favorite and why?
I changed her out of the carrier carseat around 4 months because i hated that thing, and now im thinking i should just buy a convertable for my next born straight out. think it would be too big? even WITH the newborn inserts?
Do you like this one?:

It only goes to 65 lbs though unlike my daughters which goes up to 100 lbs!
Edit: I still have my daughters carrier carseat (within 5 year man.) if my thought backfires on me lol and its babyblue so its gender neutral

I own two Britax convertable seats (the Marathon and the Decathalon) and when I bought them the cover was sooooo super soft, like velvet. But I had to wash it the other day for the first time and it’s not soft anymore!! I didn’t machine wash or dry (the tag advised not to) so I did as the tag instructed me to. So my question is, IS there anyway to make the material feel that soft again?

My husband was got in a minor accident and your daughter’s convertable child seat was installed in the car. My husband was in the car alone.
The car seat is for my four year old child.
The damage to the car is to the hood and bumper area of the car since a lady turned right infront of him and he did not have enough time to stop.
