My husband’s friend stopped over to show off his new car the other day-A brand new Mustang converitble. In the back was his 6 month old daughter rear facing in an infant car seat. I was a little disturbed because I’ve been in the back seat of a convertable, and I hardly remember it being big enough to properly secure an infant seat. Not to mention he was driving with the top down. But anyways-Does anyone know if that’s safe? I’m not going to say anything

We are getting ready to purchase a car seat for our baby who is due next month. At first we were going to buy an infant seat so that we could carry her in it, put it in the cart at the store, etc… but all the seats we found are only up to 22 lbs, it seems like babys get that big by 6-7 months. The convertable seats are for 5-40 lbs, so we would get a lot more use out of it. But they seem so big to be putting a newborn baby in. Plus there is the inconvinence of not being able to use it as a carrier.
Has anyone used a convertable seat right from birth? Did the baby fit in it ok? Im worried it wont support her head or that she might slip around in it.
Any brand or type recomendations would really be helpful. Thanks so much.
