It was at 40 mph Head on with another car. The other cars airbags did go off, and they were going slower. I was driving an 05 civic it suffered moderate front end damage it’s not drivable. The crash was ruled thier fault in the police report and I’m wondering if I can sue. I believe when you pay for something, and it doesn’t work properly, especially for safety purposes. There should be some repercussions from the customer.

Is it not safe to wear a seat belt when above 6' 2''?

I am 6’4” and got my first ticket for not wearing a seat belt today..anything I can do?
Also I have a friend who is 6’3” and was wearing his seat belt while in a crash. It messed up his back/spine pretty bad because of his height. I can guarantee he would have much rather had a few stitches in his head then a messed up back for life…he never wears his seat belt anymore

My car was in a crash before i bought it, so air bags with the car were out of the question for how much i paid for it. But now that i look at the car where the air bags were in front of the driver and passangers seats and it looks nasty. what can i do to make it look decent? I don’t have the money to fix the air bags so I want something that sort of covers it. I don’t know help?

I always buy a seat for my daughter and now that she is 2 yr and 4 months I am glad to see she can use the adult seat belt (no more dragging a car seat through security and attaching it with difficulty to the airplane seat). That is according to the airline. but is it really safe? I know they sell some other attachments for small children, are they worth it, are they really safer than regular adult seat belt? Thanks
BTW I am not asking about surviving a crash: that is very unlikely to happen and probably wont make much difference.

I am more worried about TURBULENCE, and hitting her head to the cealing. Thanks.

I have a very expensive Britax car seat that my son loves. We were in a rear end crash and I assumed it would not be safe to use. Some on lookers, stopped to help, and a lady came over with her son’s car seat (he wasn’t with her) and offered it to me. One of the nicest things anyone has done for me that I can remember. The E.M.S. stepped in and told her to go back to her car, and my car seat was fine. I told him I was taking hers and I did, but he assured me that his car seat was fine, and then to, as he said "appease me" he asked 4 other officials on the scene, all who looked at it and told me it was fine. We were still at a light, and the guy who hit us was going 30 mph. so not so fast, but enough to move my son’s car seat a little, so I know it was impacted… So what are the real rules on that? I mean I love that car seat and it sat me back a pretty penny, but why would they tell me it is okay, if it is not? Is it really garbage, or is it okay as they told me?
I mean I am just kind of scared because now I realize I can’t control other idiots who decide to text their bff instead of driving and plow into my son… If it happens again, I don’t know… Would the thing like break to bits? It looks okay, so I don’t know what constitutes a car seat exchange.
Yes the car was "totaled" because he was driving a one ton truck and he pushed me into an SUV, and the back seat next to my son flew off its anchors, so it was not mild, but we are certainly not crippled for life.

What happens when your air bags pop out?

I am always afraid of getting into a crash because i’m afraid of the airbags, I hear they come out so fast they can break your nose. Is that true?

Also if I were to get into a crash and the air bags came out, what happens next? Do i get the airbags replaced or just put them back into the steering wheel?

Dorel Juvenile Group (DJG) is issuing a safety recall for certain Cosco, Maxi-Cosi, and Safety 1st brand child restraints manufactured from May 1, 2008 through April 30, 2009. There is a potential for the harness adjustment strap to loosen during use. If this were to occur, the harness may be loose around the child, possibly increasing the risk of injury in a crash.

**Please share on your facebook so your friends are aware if they own any of these seats

Oh Zorro we all know you’d just make another kid if you lost one along the way… some moms here only have one and it would take an awfully long time to pop another one out
DJG has a ridiculous amount of recalls, I don’t know how they can still sell car seats. Their products are cheap which leads people to buy them more readily than safer companies that don’t get recalled all the time.

**Stop buying Eddie Bauer, Safety 1st and Cosco!!!!

To replace child car seat?

We were recently hit by someone running a red light. The impact was on the driver’s side.
My son was in a Britax in the back seat behind the passenger seat.
No visible damage to our seat- and we do meet the guidelines for the NHTSA "minor" crash- for the most part. I was sore and hit my head on the window, but did not seek medical treatment.
On the other hand, the insurance adjuster from the other person’s insurance company said (after looking at my car) that this would be considered a "moderate" impact crash (versus minor)- I think it seemed to be a minor impact because thankfully the other driver (who was going approx. 30 and didn’t slow down at all) hit at one of the strongest parts on the side of the car. In our Britax manual, it states seats should be replaced after any moderate or severe crash. The website states their thoughts on seat replacement a little differently on the site.

Air bag light on in a 2003 crown victoria?

My horn stuck while i beeped it, so i had to unplug the horn relay fuse so i could drive the car until i could get it serviced. Now the airbag light is on. I understand that it probably wont protect me in a crash now, but my main concern is will it deploy on its own without being in a crash? I really dont want that to happen. Thanks!

why cant i use a used car seat?

why cant i use a used car seat if it looks fine. why would it matter even if it was in a wreck… and why do expiration dates matter? i care about my childs safety but i mean , even if your in a wreck it s not like the car seat would be impacted unless it was a huge crash? it s not like it has airbags taht go off and its no longer usable. i just dont understand if the car seat looks fine, why cant you use a used one?

carseat safety guidelines with older children.?

I have been seeing commercials on tv saying that until your child is 4 feet 9 inches tall or 80 pounds, that he/she must remain in a booster seat. My six y/o son is 3 feet 10 inches, and weighs 48 pounds. I recently switched him from his five point harness, and started using the belt positioning clips on the high back booster seat. Is this okay? Would it be safe to use the "no back" booster? Does the high back booster offer more protection in a crash? What do you suggest on this issue? We live in Florida in case that matters.

Before every takeoff, we see a show off from air hostess regarding safety tips… where are the doors, how to inflate air bags… And when there is a crash we will see no survivors. In that case why is this show off needed?

Which of the following statements is true?

A. Children being carried on or riding bicycles should wear properly fitted bicycle helmets.
B. All children three years of age or younger must use a restraint device when riding in a motor vehicle.
C. Over 70 percent of the deaths in car crashes could be prevented by using crash-tested child restraints.
D. Infant carriers or children’s car seats must be used for children up to five years of age and younger.
