I just spent 2 weeks redecorating the inside of my 97 ford explorer. all of the trim around the gadges, stereo, cup holders comes from the factory black. I painted all of it red metallic with metal flake. everything looks great but its missing something. I want put my "nickname" on my passenger airbag cover in raised letters or something else cool. but i also want it to match. anone got any ideas?
No one sits in passenger seat so no one will be hurt if it goes off

I have a Britax Marathon carseat that I am installing in the rear center position of my Ford Edge. The manual for the car says I can use the inner LATCH connectors from the outboard seats. The only problem is there is no bar for me to attach the top tether to in the center seat. Can I attach it to one of the bars for the outboard seat?

I get 0 percent for 3 years or 1.9 for 5 years for Tundra. Ford’s sales over 25 years as an industry leader are not relevant to me regarding my decision for 2010. And while I don’t necessarily doubt Ford makes a better truck (and I have to admit, I even like the way the F150 looks compared to other trucks), how much better is it? If it "edges" the competition by a mile or so per gallon in fuel economy, or it offers some "convenience" feature like the flat back seat floor, is that really enough to pay more with a traditional 5 or 6 percent interest rate? Anyone have an opinion about the Tundras vs. the Ford F150? Oh, and the only rating that Tundra edges out F150 on most of these car rating sites is the "dependability". How can F150 get edged out in such an all-important category if it’s not as dependable according to experts who rate F150 as a better overall truck?

We are not preggo yet, but my husband has a Ford Ranger Pickup. It’s one of those with the backseat that has the fold-down seats. Obviously we wouldn’t be placing a car seat in the backseat, but I’m concerned about front seat placement. Has anyone had this issue before? I hate to ask him to sell it, unless it’s unsafe for a child. I don’t think it would be safe. It does have a passenger side air bag cut off switch though..what do you think?

I have a late 60’s ford, and I dont have the financial means to get a newer car. Everywhere I have called regarding safety seats turns out to be some jerk trying to sell me a late model used car. This even happened when I called SEATCHECK. I believe it is possible to retrofit a latch system in my vehicle. Has anyone else done this? I want my baby to be as safe as possible. Please dont respond telling me to get another car, because if I could, I would in a heartbeat.

I have an extended cab Ford Ranger. I was wondering is it safe to have the rearfacing seat in the front? Since it’s the only option I have. I know to turn off the airbag. Also my husband and I can’t afford a new vehical and I won’t drive his massive truck.

I got pulled over and issued a citation because my motorized seat belt stops right in the middle of the track. Does anyone out there know the range that I’ll have to pay to get it fix?
Thanks so much!
Sorry, I forgot to add that its a 1994 Ford Escort Hatchback.

I have a 2007 ford focus. I went to take the seat belt off so I could get out of the car and it wouldn’t come off. How do i get the seat belt out of the latch so I can replace the latch?

I drive a four door Ford Focus. I already have two children, ages 4 and 2, with one more on the way. I’m looking for guidance or advice on what to do when the new baby arrives. The back seat is only big enough for two car seats. By the time the new baby is born, my 4 year old will be 4 1/2. Can she safely sit in the front passenger seat of the Focus, with the appropriate car seat, so that my younger two can sit in the back seat? I know I should definitely disable the front passenger airbag. But is this safe? Getting a bigger vehicle would be tough financially. Any other advice would be appreciated.
Wow, I didn’t expect to be judged about having a third child, I was just asking about car seat safety. If it is imperitive that I get a bigger vehicle, I will. I said it would be a strain financially, not impossible. Relax people.

I bought my car from a used car lot. It’s a 2006 Ford Taurus SEL. The air bag light has been on ever since I drove the car off the lot, which was a month ago. The dealer said the air bags are fine, but they couldn’t get the light to go out. I’m sure thats BS, but is there a way to get the light to go out, because its really annoying and is it safe to drive? Also, with the airbag light on will my car pass the Maryland State Emissions Test?

It was not a lap belt. It was the one that holds your body back.

HI guys–
I ended up with two car seats as gifts– the same brand! ha. The thing is, they got GREAT safety ratings and its defintely the brand I want. The thing is, only one of our 2 cars are currently "baby safe"– I drive a Ford Ranger and even though you can turn the airbag off, I dont think I’ll be putting baby in my truck at all.
We’ll be buying a second baby-safe car in mid or late summer. Baby is due this month, so she’ll already be 4+ months old then. The seat is rated for up to 30 lbs.
Should we keep both and plan to use the second one in 4 months or should I return it and get a larger seat when we get the second car? I dont know how hold a 30lb kid is…..

I’m looking into purchasing a 2002 Ford Mustang, and everything works reasonably, the only problem that I noticed is the driver side seat belt does not fully retract. When it is buckled in, there is some tension there, but when unbuckled it just droops on the floor. If I were to get this fixed, what would that entail? Is it a simple one or does the entire side need to be opened up? What could I expect as far as the cost?
Thanks.
