I have a small Ford and I am interested in buying the new Britax Advocate 70 cs.
I am worried it is too big for my car.
1. Does anyone have any feedback about putting the Advocate in a small car?
2. What other good car seats are you using in small cars?
Thank you

I went to test drive a car, and ended up with the boss of the man who test drove the car with me trying to buy the car. He tried everything to convince me to get the car: ,000 off, leather seats, navigation put in, and a low interest rate finance plan. I left telling him I would consider his offer, being that I liked the car but at the same time I felt very pressured, especially when he gave me until tomorrow for this offer. They both couldn’t understand, even though I explained, that I am looking and taking my time to get a good car and deal possible.

I have 2 cars, a 05 hyundai sonata with 14000 miles, and a 87 honda accord with 276000 miles. My sonata has had multiple problems, about a month ago i was headed to work in the sonata, and the electrical system failed on the freeway, everthing including the engine shut off, i coasted to the side of the road, i could not get out because you have to press the unlock button, i was stuck in my car for four hours and was late to work, then i got fired. i took the car into the dealer and they said it was fine, as i was pulling out of the parking spot at the hyundai dealership, the car remained in reverse making this grinding noise, i put the shifter in park and the electrical system failed locking me in the car once again, the dealership had to open the doors manually causing damage, that proved to the dealership that there was a problem, but the dealership will not cover it because my last oil change was at a differant hyundai dealer while i was on vacation,so i payed for it myself taking out a second loan for my car, a few weeks later my sister took my car to walmart, while on the freeway the power steering locked up, she rear ended a ford in front of her at 75 mph and the airbags did NOT deploy, i am filing a recall on my so-not-a good car, and thank goodness she was wearing her seat belt, and wasnt in a e-launch-ra through the windsheild. i am so pissed. but my 1987 honda accord hasnt had a single problem and it has 276000 miles on it, i am getting rid of my hyundai and buying a new accord, take my advice, buying a generic cheap peice of crap like a hyundai and a kia is not worth it, pay for the leader like honda and not the coppier, have you checked out the looks of the new sonata and accord, they are identical, and that disgusts me that generic companies even think that they can come even close to competing with honda and toyota!

We have a 2004 Dodge Neon SXT that we bought in 2007. Its been a fairly good car, until today. My husband was putting in my son’s carseat (we’ve taken it out and put it back in many times) and he went to clip in the seatbelt and pull on it to make it tighter and all of a sudden the belt buckle (the female part of the seat belt that you put the male part into) just detached from the fabric!!! Not tore or anything, just like it completely came undone and slipped through. I was terrified! Then I pulled gently on the buckle part behind the drivers seat and it did the same thing!! We were not pulling very hard or anything at all, just the normal amount to tighten the seatbelt. I’m scared to death to put my kids back there. So I called the dealership where we bought the car and the parts guy said it did the same thing on his 2004 as well! And there hasn’t been any recalls on this. He acted like it was no big deal and to just replace the buckles-which is going to cost 0+plus labor. I think that is something that should be replaced for free. So I called the NHTSA and filed a complaint with them and sent an email to the manufacturer. Everyone I talk to is acting like its no big deal!! Thank God we pulled on it a little bit and not just buckled it in, could you imagine what would happen in an accident if a 5’4 pg woman could pull it out??? Has this happened to anyone else? Am I just overreacting or does this seem like a general concern to anyone else?? I’ve never heard of replacing seatbelts, they’re not tires.
thank you for your responses, I’m just a very scared mother, and I don’t like the idea of putting my kids in danger knowingly.

It was a gift from my uncle. And I really love this car. Though I haven’t drove it myself yet. Anyway I am 42 weeks so the doctors is gonna induce me, and just wondering, since I don’t want to give the car up( my dream car), is it a good car to put a car seat and newborn-toddler in. Someday I will get an s.u.v when I will get married and such. but just wondering. If the car isn’t a safe car for my son then I will not use it :[.
Here’s a picture of what a volvo c30 looks like( since I haven’t took a pic of my car yet)

I’m looking into buying a new car seat for my son he is getting to big( 9 months and he weighs 23 pounds) for the one he has now! Does anyone know anything about it? Or any other suggestions on a good car seat without paying 0? I’ve been reading that Britax makes it!

We don’t exactly have spare cash around to get a 4 door car – that and our 2 door Honda Civic has been such a good car to us, I would hate to sell it and get a lemon on the off chance that we bought the wrong car. Everyone complains about a 2 door and car seats but is it merely an annoyance or is it is a royal pain in the butt?

We’ve found the Graco Quattro Tour LX LATCH Travel System – Oakwood, and I was wondering if this looked like a good car seat? We want one that you can take out and attach to a base, not a convertible one yet.
I’m a little concerned about the weight limit though, I think its 22lbs. How long will a baby typically fit in a seat of this weight limit?
Do you know of a better travel system?
Feel free to make any suggestions.
Heres a link to the site:

Thanks
Actually I can’t find the weight limit of the carseat. I’m not sure if it is a snugride seat or a safeseat?

My 8 month old is 22lbs. and 28 in. long. She is outgrowing her car seat and we need a new one. What is a good car seat for under 0? We can not afford a Britax, so please don’t answer with that. Here are some we are considering…

I cannot decide between these two:
Graco My Ride 65 or Evenflo Triumph Advance Premier.
Both seem like good car seats. I’ve read all the reviews online. Do you have personal experience with either one of these that may sway my decision one way or another? Thanks.

I need a car seat for my 12month old (FAST) she ‘s really outgrown it. But I don’t really know what to look for. What makes a good car seat? What should I watch out for? I went to buy one today, but there were so many, and the salesperson didn’t know much. Any help would be appreciated.

I bought the chicco infant seat because I heard it was the safest, and I have been happy with it, but I’ve realized it was compeltely unnecessary?!
I never use it as a carrier (it doesn’t fit on the grocery carts), I carry my son in a sling.
I should have just bought the Radian car seat that is also rated the safest convertible car seat. Fits kids 5-80 lbs., so I would have only had to buy one car seat!
http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2602046
Hope I can help a new mom who hasn’t bought her car seat yet!
The radian seat is also better because it is rear facing to 45 lbs., my infant seat is only good until 22 lbs.
Yeah I feel ripped off! I hardly ever used his infant seat as a carrier!
Dinja – thae seat is pricey, but so was the chicco that I bought. It’s kind of a shame but the car seats with the highest safety ratings tend to be pricier. I’d rather buy one good car seat than 2 or 3 mediocre but cheaper car seats.

I need some reccomendations for a good car seat because my son is 4 1/2 months now and I think he needs a new car seat cause the one I bought is getting too small. I dont know which one is a good one? he’s 25 inches and 15 pounds already. I have the GRACO fortune travel system and I dislike the stroller too because it doesnt recline flat and the cover is hard to close and open at times. Any reccomendations? thanks!

Ahh I never thought finding the right car seat could be such a challenge. Until now I’ve been using an Alpha Omega car seat that was given to me..and I HATE it. So much in fact that I’m considering torching it on our front lawn once I have a replacement for it. LOL. Anyways, the car seat I’m considering is this one
http://www.canadiantire.ca/browse/product_detail.jsp?postal=l4g3g8&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441895303&bmForm=form_set_price_list&bmFormID=1220014519217&bmUID=1220014519217&bmHash=dcbd5a14ede12fb819688774b6b02e8b19c891c4
Anyone else have this one? The reviews seem to be pretty good for it but I’d like some feedback from people on here who have this or have used it. Thanks. Any recommendations for other good car seats would be appreciated too.
I need something comfortable for my baby (she’s 10 months old and about 22 pounds) Something she can grow with and something that has easily adjusted straps so I can adjust it to what she is wearing. That is my biggest beef with the car seat I currently have. The straps are HORRIBLE. They twist and are very hard to adjust. I need a car seat that is easy to use.
edit: I posted this question a half hour ago but it never appeared.
Ripped off for 5 points !
