My child still needs to be rear facing for a long while. She is too tall for her infant seat now. Need the best brands and models of convertible car seats.
I drive a car with not a lot of room in the back seat.

That "overhead bar" anymore?? Please no rude or sarcastic remarks, 10 years ago when I transferred my daughter from her infant seat to a baby car seat all you seen in the store were car seats with the bar on them….I have a 5 month old and soon will be looking for a upright car seat and I liked the one my daughter had but I don’t see them anywhere anymore….????

The model car I am seriously considering buying (1995 model) does not have the latest LATCH safety bars/latches in it, as far as I know for the models produced that year. This particular car did not get that feature until a few years later than 1995. However, this is the only car I can afford right now
I have a 20 month old toddler whose booster car seat HAS to be used with a LATCH system. Is there any safe way to purchase/use this car? Can LATCH be installed later?? (I know that’s not likely!!) What are my options here? I am going to read back through my carseat manual, but in the meantime anyone else find a solution for this problem?? I am REALLY big on safety for my baby’s carseat, that’s why I am looking to see if we can possibly work with this car, or not. Thanks so much for your experience with this prob!
OK people, NOOO, my child is not in an ACTUAL booster, she is in a carseat!!! I guess I put booster because she’s not in an INFANT seat. Geezus can I just get an answer for the question please?? In my question I stated I AM REALLY PICKY ON SAFETY do you really think my child is in a booster??!

We have a jeep cherokee. -Cannot, repeat, cannot buy a new car right now. We’re dealing with layoffs and can barely get by as it is. A new booster law is going into effect in one month in our state requiring us to fit 2 boosters and an infant seat in the back of a jeep cherokee, (or a geo prizm). How the heck are we going to do this? We also can’t spend 0 plus dollars for new "radian" car seats. Do the "ride-safer-vests" do a good job? Would they even be legal and who would I ask that? Right now my oldest is using a harness system in the middle -it tethers to the back of the jeep and goes over his shoulders. Any ideas? I’m not comfortable squishing them in there so much that they are not positioned right.

Im building my baby registry and getting hung up on car seats. Is it better to go with an infant car seat that will go with the functioning stroller, or is it better to get a convertible car seat that is designed for infants and toddlers, or is it better to get one infant car seat and also buy a booster seat? Does the convertible car seats need a car base like the infant car seat? Does everything need to be related to the same brand (graco, safety 1st) in order to work together? I really do want to the infant seat for the stroller so we can take the baby wherever, but I really don’t know whether to buy a convertible or a booster for when the baby outgrows the infant seat. . . can anyone help me figure this all out? (First time Mom)

So my daughter is just shy of 4 months, and 17 lbs, and her car seat is only rated for up to 22 lbs. I have been looking at getting a Convertible Car Seat, since she is holding her head up really good now, but I was just wondering when everyone here switched from the infant seat, to a convertible seat.

My man is in Fort Lewis, Washington for training before he goes over seas, and hes flying me and my daughter out to see him. Shes only 2 months, so she still requires the infant seat. I have the Graco Deco version, to me its seems a little bigger then most infant carriers. Does anyone happen to know if it will fit in an airplane ? My biggest fear is that it wont!

I have my 10 month old in a Graco Snugride (infant car seat) which he can use until he’s 22 lbs. He’s looking awfully uncomfortable in it already! I bought him a forward-facing car seat, the Britax Frontier 85, and LOVE the seat… except I didn’t realize it specifies the child has to be 25 lbs AND 2 years old. Now I don’t know what to do for that huge gap in the middle!!! Can I put my son in the forward facing seat when he hits 25 lbs. even though it says he needs to be 2 years old! I can’t afford to buy another seat for such a small amount of time, and I can’t keep him in the infant seat for much longer either. Please help.

My daughter is 9 weeks, and weighs just over 11lbs. I’m not even considering moving her out of her infant seat yet, lol, but I was just wondering when did you move up? Just curiosity. (:

We’re thinking about getting one of these instead of buying an infant seat. In my experience babies outgrow their infant seats so fast that you really dont get your moneys worth for them. Is it safe to place our baby in this seat from the beginning? Or we were thinking we’d use my neices which is only 6 mons old until our baby reaches 12 pounds.
