Our car is older and doesn’t have a latch system. I’ve seen videos on youtube showing how to do a rearfacing install with a lap/shoulder belt. Is it possible to install the Coccoro with just the lap belt in the middle seat section?

TIA!

The model car I am seriously considering buying (1995 model) does not have the latest LATCH safety bars/latches in it, as far as I know for the models produced that year. This particular car did not get that feature until a few years later than 1995. However, this is the only car I can afford right now :( I have a 20 month old toddler whose booster car seat HAS to be used with a LATCH system. Is there any safe way to purchase/use this car? Can LATCH be installed later?? (I know that’s not likely!!) What are my options here? I am going to read back through my carseat manual, but in the meantime anyone else find a solution for this problem?? I am REALLY big on safety for my baby’s carseat, that’s why I am looking to see if we can possibly work with this car, or not. Thanks so much for your experience with this prob!
OK people, NOOO, my child is not in an ACTUAL booster, she is in a carseat!!! I guess I put booster because she’s not in an INFANT seat. Geezus can I just get an answer for the question please?? In my question I stated I AM REALLY PICKY ON SAFETY do you really think my child is in a booster??!

She is in a REAR FACING CARSEAT. Geez.

The car we just bought does not have the LATCH system in it or a place to hook the top tether…. According to my car seat instruction manual, one of those two things must be used in addition to the seatbelt…. What are you supposed to do in that case? I obviously want my sons car seat installed safely and correctly.

I have a Britax infant carrier that my child is out growing, 20 pounds it also a lot to carry in that thing. I have two Britax car-seats that my older son used that are only two years old. I have tried to use the convertible car seats backwards which I never did before my first son fit in the carrier for a year. I can not make them tight to the seat, I use the latch system and have called Britax and they are still able to push forward hardly any force. I tried a 2003 taurus(my car), 2004 Chevy cavalier(husbands) and a 2006 Jeep commander(winter car). I can’t get them to tighten down, any one have another brand that will or maybe a new Britax that fits?
I don’t think I worded it right… The car seats fit in so tight forward facing that when you shake it, it will move the car. When turned around I can no longer use a top latch, so I have only the bottom latch system to use. With the angle of the seat when you are just pulling the carseat down by the front of it with nothing to have the back aginst it will not stay. Is it tight yes.. you can’t move it side to side but if you push on the back which is normally aginst the seat of the car it rocks forward. Lets hope that you understand better, fyi my husband is a cop and in our state they are certified to install car seats, but thanks for trying to tell me I am stupid.
Okay Ford has no recommended latch point for the top latch chevy no recommendation and jeep same there, I already called all of them. And FYI again 2006 was the first model year for a commander. yikes. I had a 2005 dodge minivan like in the video and yes they come with a bottom latch points from the factory. I have no bottom latch points from the factory and I don’t much care for the rebound.
AS I said before he is they go to a class once a year. But, that’s all fine. I still can’t see how the rebounding is safe, just really makes me scared. I don’t see latching the top teather if the manufactures told me they had no safe point.
Maybe I am but these are my children. Can’t help it.

how do i install another anchor? is it safe to just use a seat belt on an infant car seat when it comes with the LATCH system?

Forward facing child car seat question?

Here is my situation. I have a 2007 Hyundai Elantra sedan. In the car manual it says that I cannot use the LATCH system in the center rear facing, but does not say anything about forward facing in the center. Please do not say call the manufacture, been there and done that(they have no clue what I am talking about). The car seat that I am trying to use forward facing in the center position with the seat belt does not seem like it is in there as well as it could be.

Convertible car seat, help!!!!?

Okay so my daughter is 7 months old and getting to big for infant car seat. Well she loves both of the infant seats we have for her never fusses can fall asleep easily everything. Well we just went out and spent 0 on the new Evenflo Momentum Dlx 65, it has AWESOME safety features and a great latch system and looks really comfortable. We’ve had it for a few days now and she HATES it, she cries constantly in it even if I sit in the back with her while my boyfriend drives. Once she tried to fall asleep in it but her head fell forward and it woke her up and we have it reclined all the way back.
Do you any of you moms know of a great convertible car seat with just as good safety features/side impact protection and all that but possibly more comfortable? I mean I really don’t know why she doesn’t like it as it looks comfortable to me, I think it might be because it doesn’t recline enough? So if you know of a good seat that your baby loves that reclines well please inform me haha because we are going to have to take back the Evenflo Momentum which I hate to do because of the amazing safety features.

Is securing a car seat in the middle seat of a vehicle with just a lap belt not safe enough? Should the car seat be moved to a window seat that has the shoulder belt AND lap belt?

If you prefer to use the tether/latch system, are you not supposed to use the vehicle’s seat belts? Can you use both the lap belt and latch/tether?

I recently learned the science of carseat installation and how the most vulnerable child should be in the middle. The middle seat in my new car doesn’t have a latch system in the middle and so I was curious as to how we should install a third carseat. My two older sons are 4 and 2 and have the same front-facing, Graco Nautilus for each of them. Our third son who is due any minute now is going to have a Britax Chaperone that my in-laws just purchased for him. I’m not sure, with the latch in consideration, where would be the best place to install it.
I’m not sure that we would be allowed to install anything like that in this car since it is a lease. That is a good thought though!

Does anyone know if the dealer can install the LATCH system and if so how much would it cost?

Also, does anyone have any personal experience with this. I’ve contacted one toyota dealer and they have not been helpful and don’t think they can do this.

First time mom, having my baby SOOOOOOOOOON. We decided to install the carseat, but I don’thave a latch system thing installed in my backseat, I know nothing about the latch system on the carseat..other than how to install it, BUT we don’t have the things in the back seat , like I’ve said. Help?! times running out. I have no idea.

Anyone have a Britax Parkway Booster Seat?

I have a ford windstar and it doesnt see to fit well. When my son is in it a kind of leans to the right, it just doesn’t look safe. Am I doing something wrong? I wish it had the latch system so it stayed anchored down. any suggestons?
