alright i keep reading these questions talking about latch and then someone answered a question i had and they were talking about latch so what is it? how do i know if my car has it and do i have to get anything extra to install my child’s seat like this? i have a 2004 pt crusier. it’s the touring edition. i would look in my car but the back seats are out because we were moving stuff. i will look when we put them back in but what am i looking for? also i’m thinking my car may be too small what van or SUV’s come with the built in toddler seats? i’m not sure if they still do that anymore or do you have to order that special? thanks
i remember seeing little metal bar things is that it? where is the strap does that come with the carseat?

Looking for an infant car seat (the kind with a base that will stay in the car and a removable infant carrier) that will work in our 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse. We have done a lot of research with absolutely no legitimate answers, only people stating "this should work" and "try this seat it’s small," so please do not bother answering this question unless you have an answer based on actual experience such as owning this car and having a car seat that works in it. We do NOT want a convertible car seat, I need a seat that I can lift out of the car and carry around with my baby sleeping in it being that I have a 2 year old’s car seat (The Britax Marathon) already installed on one side of the Eclipse so I need to be able to have the carrier I can remove as needed. Anyone that has this car knows that the back seats dip down in the center which so far has made it impossible to find a base that will work back there without sliding all over the place. Every seat we have tried so far will not work. Also there is no latch so it has to be a seat that will work using belts only. We do not have the time or money to keep buying seats that don’t work and the new baby will be here in a few short months. Again, please only answer this question if you have a definite answer of what WILL work (not what might work or what could possibly work but only what WILL work) based on your own personal use or if you have a friend or family member with this car who has an infant seat installed rear facing.

Thank you in advance for your help
Once again- size is not the main issue- the main problem is that the seats DIP IN in the center therefore a care seat base that is straight on the bottom does not fit flat on the seat which causes it to slide around. If you have this car please let us know which seat you use- not an answer based on size of a seat. Thank you

which infant car seat is ideal?

ok ive been looking at carseats online everyday, tonight im going to babyearth, so i can actually touch them. ive looked at all the major brands and narrowed it down to combi(shuttle or coccoro), maxi-cosi, chicco keyfit30 or graco sungride. ive looked at britax but i dont want to spend 250 dollars for something thats going to last me for less than a year. i know most of the seats i named prob wont last me up to a year, but they are much cheaper. ive read that maxi-cosi is a small seat and most kids grow out of it at 6 months. my number one choice is the keyfit30. however, im very interested in the coccoro. the only thing that concerns me is that there isnt a handle or sunshade. how do you hold this thing. plus it doesnt have a base, so everytime i want to take it in and out if the car i have to use the latch. but i do like that its both rear facing and forward facing, that way it will last longer.
of course im interested in safety not just how they look.
anyone have any ideas on what to get?

…in a 5 point harness

Can I get 3 car seats in a Toyota RAV4?

I have a 2008 Toyota RAV4 Limited with the 3rd row seats that fold flat in back. Can I get 3 baby convertible car seats in the RAV4? If so, which seats do you use in the car? I am hoping to get all 3 car seats in the 2nd row using LATCH connections on the right and left and the seat belt for the center. Can you install a baby car seat or toddler booster car seat in the 3rd row in the back?
If you think this configuration will work in the RAV4, what brand of car seats do you recommend? It seems like the only brand that might work is Sunshine Kids, Radian models.

I know that was not a question. The problem is that the gate itself was installed wrong and so was the gravity latch. Once our municipality told us that we had to get new fencing we went to the contractor that they recommended, meaning they are fully insured. My father was there during the installation and told them where the irrigation system was located and aside from that believed that they knew what they were doing. First off they installed the fence so that we lost close to 5 inches worth of land in the front and so the sprinkler that was on the side wall that was installed wrong is now throwing water to the adjacent park. Next the gates were installed wrong, they open the wrong way, and upon reviewing the installation instructions for the gravity latch it says that the latch needs to be installed on the side where the hinge for the door lies. Since the hinges were installed wrong the latch was installed wrong and it is now a safety hazard for my family for two reasons. Reason one is that to have it work as a door, the side of the door that is to the outside has to remain unlocked at all hours, meaning anyone can enter our backyard. Reason two is that if we choose to look the door on the outside so no one can come in, then also no one can come out as it would be locked on the other side. When I tried telling them about this all they said that they could do was remove the hinges and latch and install it properly but there would be visible damage to the door for the pre-drilled holes for the botched install. I do not feel this is fair as we bought new PVC fencing and they did a bad job. What can be done? I have been trying to get in touch with the gentleman that was "handling" this issue for me but I am starting to get the feeling that he is avoiding me as everytime I call them they say he is out and will be in at a certain time. When I call earlier than that time they then tell me that he is gone for the day. When I tell them that someone told me to call back at that time they say they don’t know why they would tell me that and that he should be in next morning. I call then and same story.

tips on getting car seat tight!?

i just got 2 sunshine radian sl80 car seats the other day. i put them in and got them really tight. but took them out to adjust something and now can’t seem to get them in right. the belt keeps twisting or get it tight then try to wiggle it and it loosens up. i can’t use the latch with them due to have a van that is a 2003. :( any tips?
yes i put my knee in the seat. but the buckle part is what gets caught up next to the seat that makes it hard to get a tight fit it seems like

There is the shed in the backyard that I want to use as an artist studio. Currently there is no doornob. The outside of the door has a handle and a spot for a padlock. The inside of the door just has a pull handle and hook latch. I would like to remove the handles on both sides and install a traditional doornob and traditional bolt. I don’t have any carpentry skills.

Is it possible to do on a shed? Or would I need to put in a new doorframe? Or should I just leave it alone? I’m going to use this place to take afternoon naps, read books and draw. Sometimes for privacy or to get rid of noise outside like birds chirping or barking dogs I close the door to the art shed so I can concentrate.

With no doornob it can be a pain to open and close the door. Currently I will pull the door shut and use the hook latch. If I don’t hooklatch the door it won’t stay closed.

Should I install a doornob and tradition deadbolt lock or make do with the current handle and latch? With a doornob if someone wants to visit me they can open and close the door like a regular room or house. With the current handle and latch people have to knock on the door if its closed and Im in the art shed. They also cant close the door when they leave.

Even though this is not my shed the one below looks very similar.

The inside looks very similar to this even though not the same.

What should I do?
Currently the inside of the door is painted skyblue with flowers. The inside of the walls are skyblue with yellow flowers.

Should I repaint the inside of the door and the interior walls if I"m going to out a doornob on? There are no windows.

Is this current disign of colors oldladyish, childish or niether? What color suggestions would people have for the interior of the door and interior of the walls?

I need ideas for baby safety on screen doors.?

My son is 18 months old and we have a latch that keeps the door shut, but now he is tall enough to reach the door handle (it isnt a knob it is a handle that goes across about 2 inches) Well we have been keeping the big door open because it is summer. I need some ideas on how I can keep the screen door shut, if there is a latch or something on the market when I can stop him from opening the screen door all the way. Thank you!

I have been considering purchasing the Britax Marathon 70 convertible car seat, except I fear that it will not fit in the rear-facing position in my very small Suzuki Forenza. My first choice would be to place the car seat in the center seat of the backseat, but the center seat does not appear to have the LATCH symbols so the car seat may have to go on one of the side seats. Can anyone tell me from experience if the Britax Marathon 70 will fit in the rear-facing position without having to pull the front seat all the way forward?

My car is a ’99 Accord without the tether bars. I would like some feedback on your opinion about purchasing a vehicle that includes the tether bars for our baby’s carseat. Is it safer to use the tether bars and top latch?

Please view the following, WONDERFUL youtube video that has me thinking that it might be time to buy a newer car with tether bars… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azgBhZfcqaQ&mode=related&search=

Also, we bought a plain old evenflo convertable car seat. Do you recommend exchaning the carseat that we have for a Britex Regal (that goes up to 60 lbs)?

Thank you!

Toyota Tacoma pop out window install?

I have a 2000 Toyota Tacoma that recently got the driver side pop out window bashed out. I ordered the window but when It comes, I’m not sure I can install it. I know the latch it on by a screw but I’m not sure how to take off the plastic covering to get to the other screws. The plastic covering is what is attached to the headliner and what not… Can someone please explain how I take the off to get to the core of inside-side of the truck?! Thanks in advance!
