Ok, I have narrowed down the staggering number of convertible car seats to Britax. They have the Marathon, Boulevard, Advocate, Roundabout… it’s crazy. They all seem the same to me. A little info- my daughter is 1 year old, about 22 lbs, 24 inches (she was a preemie). I plan on keeping her rear-facing as long as possible, and would like to only buy this one car seat rather than a new one every time she gains 5 lbs. We have been using the Graco Snugride and she has probably just a few weeks until she’s maxed it out. Any thougths on Britax? What size vehicle do you have or need in order for it to fit rear-facing? We’re probably going to purchase a Chevy Equinox (right now, I have a 2 door Blazer, so can’t really use a convertible seat with it!). Thanks!

I know from some questions that a lot of you have britax car seats. Should I get the marathon? Boulevard? I’m so lost.

I am going tomarrow to buy a convertible car seat. Please give me your opinions or experience. I am trying to decide between a few. The Britax Roundabout and The Britax Diplomat. Or The Graco ComfortSport. I have a VERY small car, the infant seat is a very tight fit right now. Even with the infant seat, I have to push the seats way up. My son will be rear facing for awhile yet, hes 8 months, but plan to keep him rear facing until I can. So which do you recommend??? Roundabout, Diplomat, or Comfortsport??? Whats the difference between the Roundabout and the Diplomat?? Are the pads removeable on the Diplomat?? Which would you recommend, considering my small car, rear facing, safety and comfort??? Thanks so much!!!
The Snugride is for infants, I need a convertable seat, Infant-Toddler Seat.
Thank You Though!!!
The Roundabout and Diplomat are supposed to be compact, right?? To fit into smaller cars?? Thats why I was considering those 2, instead of the Marathon or Decathalon.

My cousin just turned 10 years old and is in the 4thh grade…and she is still in a car seat! She is small for her age: only 46 pounds and like 3 foot 6… she obviously hasn’t hit a growth spurt yet and it doesn’t help that she was born a little more than a month pre-mature! But anyways, she told me that some people at school are making fun of her because someone saw her getting into her moms car after school and her mom strapping her into the car seat! My question to you is…isn’t my cousin a little old for a car seat? And I’m not talking about a booster seat! This is a car seat that have like chest restraints one like I sat in when i was 4. Shouldn’t my cousin be in a booster seat my now! What I’m wondering is, is what are the weight limits?
yeah i know and i told my aunt that and she was like yeah i guess ur right and i think she was going to buy a booster seat but the damage is already done…someone already made fun of her at school!
she actually has this one: http://www.target.com/Britax-Ashley-Floral-Marathon-Seat/dp/B0006HBRXQ/qid=1191800624/ref=br_1_9/601-5070559-4897713?ie=UTF8&node=3665421&frombrowse=1&rh=&page=1

I am putting my daughter front facing in her Marathon on the passenger side back seat and it seems like the anchor closest to the door is not quite in the right place. Instead of being to the complete side of the car seat, the anchor in the car is a little behind the seat and I am worried that the car seat may be interfering with the latch hook and not allowing it to be straight like it should be. Am I making sense? Anyone had this problem?

Ok, here’s the situation. I have a Graco Snugride(expires 2013) being used for baby, Britax Marathon(exp. 2011) in my dad’s single cab small truck, Evenflo Triumph (exp. 2011) in my mom’s acura TL and a Graco Nautilus (exp. 2017) in my Caravan.
I need to move the baby into a convertible and we ONLY get Britax, the Evenflo is in my moms car because it was the only one with a smooth back at the time for her leather seats, so Evenflo can’t move.
My 3 year old is about an inch and a half shy of being too tall for the Marathon but I prefer it in my Dad’s single cab truck for safety reasons.
We plan on having 3 more children with very little time inbetween, and each one at the end will end up in a Graco Nautilus until the seat expires (or maybe a Britax Frontier?)
Next year I’ll be able to take both the Marathon and Evenflo back because we’ll be moving but odds are they’ll expire before we have the last baby. The way I see it is that when the last baby is in the carrier, Ill have two in Marathons and two in the forward facing nautiluses or frontiers…
Do I get another Nautilus or Frontier for my dad’s truck and take the Marathon? Do I get another Marathon now?
What would you do? Any certified car seat techs out there want to put their two cents in?
Also considering maybe a Britax Regent for the truck?
Sorry I guess I left out the key detail of how many kids! I have a 3 year old in the Nautilus, Marathon (almost top slot) and Evenflo, and yes I do need seats in all three vehicles for her.
I have my 5 month old with me at all times so I only need to worry about my van there.
We have NO problems with fertility so Im not really too worried about seats expiring. Right now the only thing stopping us is deployment. Im not too concerned about a seat expiring before it’s used for at least a couple years. We took too long between these two or this wouldn’t e as much of an issue
Anne, I stick with Marathons because one of the things that makes a seat safeis using it right every time and installing it right. Marathon fits my van well, and I know the seat well.

I want to buy a Britax. I am looking at the Marathon right now. I heard they are big but I drive an SUV (not a big one, a smaller one) but it should be ok. I hope! But.. I might be travelling by airplane and I heard the marathon is too big for airline seats and the roundabout is better. I really want the marathon though. Help, any advice or opinions, recent experiences, welcome!
Also, I’m trying to buy online. Which fabric is nicest in person? I am looking at the cow print and the crocodile. I like the onyx but feel its too dark for the hot weather.

I am a young mother only 19 and every place I go where there are other moms I get looked at funny. I know I am young but I provide well for my daughter. I go to the park and the older mothers ask how I can afford what I have. Which is rude. The truth is I am a savvy shopper.
I shop Craig’s list and Goodwill Outlet and got things like this:
Zooper Stroller:
Avent Bottles: 50 9oz
3 Baby Bjorns: for all
Peg Perego Stroller 2006: Freecycle.
Tons of Tiddo dolls: Freecycle.
& tons of Habba toys: Freecycle
2007 Britax Marathon:
They act like there jealous when there is nothing to be jealous of I dont have much money and I just want to give my daughter things that I may have not had. What can I say to them for them to stop giving me these dirty looks and rude comments.
What other reasons would they look at me?

I’m looking at getting a convertible carseat for my 10 month old boy. I was looking at the Britax line (the Marathon specifically), and really like it. However, I drive a 2005 Honda Civic and was wondering if it would fit (rear-facing) in the backseat. I’m impressed with Britax’s safety and ratings, but they are very pricey. I wanted to purchase the Marathon because it fits children up to 65 pounds. I figure it would be the best investment because I can use it for a long time. Anyone have experiences with this carseat in small cars?

I did get the marathon for our first son and after our 2nd son was born we found out we couldn’t have him in the middle because our first son’s car seat is so wide!! SOO when/if we have a third child we will most likely have to trade in for a mini van to fit them all in

I’ve spent hours researching car seats for my 9 month old who has outgrown his infant seat. I’ve always heard that Britax is the best but really couldn’t afford their prices. I found the Evenflo and tried it out in the store. It seemed extremely comfortable and I liked the harness adjustment knob as well as the price. I’ve read great reviews on it on many sites, the only cons I’ve read seem to be it’s size and difficutly to install. I was surprised after paying to see Consumer Reports, that the Marathon ranked under the Alpha Omega! which was under the Enveflo. I’ve found a great deal online for the Marathon where I’d only be paying more than the Evenflo. I must admit I’m hesitant to buy such a big item online for fear of arriving damaged or having problems returning it should I need to. It’s so much easier to buy from a store. Any feedback from experienced Moms with the Marathon or ETADLX?
