I am a 1st time mom, so I want to be sure that anything I choose is absolutely safe and easy to use. My husband and I have a small car (Mitsubishi Mirage, 4 door, yr 2000…) We do not have the money to get a new car, so I need to figure out what is the best option for us as far as car seats and strollers are concerned. Obviously, the main priority is the safety of our baby (due June 20th.) However, I would like to find something that will fit well in my car, and…OK…a little stylish =p We are having a boy, so I don’t know if that narrows down the choices at all.

I have heard mixed reviews about travel systems, which was my initial choice…in fact, I found two I really like, and both from Graco. So, I need some experienced parents to give me some advice: travel system or separate pieces?? We are buying new so that is not a concern no matter what we choose. I just need someone who has been there to give me some input as to what would fit our family best.

I have a baby bjorn carrier and I really don’t like it, it hurts my shoulders and I can only carry my 16 lb son in it for about 20 mins. I would like something that I can use for my son now, but also for a newborn baby. I would like to sell my baby bjorn, and then use the money to buy a different kind of carrier. Which one do you recommend?

Our baby will be about 4 weeks old on his first fathers day. i got him a card but i’m not really sure what to write in it. and also should i sign it from me as well ie, lots of love from mummy and baby?

also with presents i was wanting to do something sentimental like photo frame with pictures etc.
he also just got his first car and i was thinking about getting him car seat covers which would be a fair bit of money at the moment. what do you think i should do??

My loving husband just totaled our minivan. No one was hurt now we need to find the smallest car seats and booster to fit inside a car, since we can not afford to buy another van. We are looking at buying a Chevy Impala with 3 sets of latch systems in the back. Hope someone has ideas on what to get. The twins are about 30lbs and the 4yr old is about 39lbs. Money is very tight since we owe ,000 on the van and are looking at only getting between ,000 to ,000 back. A word of warning get the gap insurance it is only about 0 and as you can see can save you thousands. Insurance says that they will cover the cost of replacing the car seats since the kids were in them at the time of the accident but I am not holding my breath. Please we are desperate for answers. Please I need personal experience if at all possible. Thank you all very much for all your answers.

My Sister was in a Minnor wreak the other day the ladies Insurance is covering her car seat how ever i would like to know a few things about it.. We are in TX and the insurance company wants her to buy a new seat and give them the receipt and to take her old seat. I have never heard of this..! do they have to take the seat and what if she doesn’t have the money up front to buy the seat right away. They also stated it had to be the same seat Her seat is A Britax Marathon and is from 2004 will they cover a 2008 Britax Seat..? some advice here please.

Is there anyone that didn’t have an infant car seat? Did you go straight to the convertible ones? I am leaning towards getting a convertible one 5-40 pounds instead of getting an infant car seat, then having to buy a different one.
I know a lot of people leave the baby in the car seat at other people’s houses. If you don’t have an infant car seat, what did you use?
Or do you think the infant car seat is well worth the money to buy it?

Hi. I want to attempt to make a murphy chair/sofa (much like these at wallchair.com), yet do not wish to pay a whole lot of money which I do not have. Any suggestions? I would love to cover the bottoms (the part which is on the outside when folded) with padding, so one could still sit on the floor without difficulty.

I purchased a Graco snugride 35 carseat because the reviews on it were great. I love the carseat and feel very confident that it will be a great purchase for us! The series that I bought offers a matching single and double stroller. HOWEVER, my husband does not want to invest our money in either of the stroller that come in the series. He wants to get a jogging stroller instead, and preferrably a double jogger. My question is, does anyone know if there is a jogger (single or double) out there that can accomodate a Graco stroller? I did buy the Graco stroller frame that the carseat locks into but it is not a jogger. I have seen a few joggers that have the ability to have an attachment hooked on to hold a carrier/carseat but mostly they are for like brands (ie: baby trend jogger with attachment to hold baby trend carrier/carseat). If anyone knows of a jogger out there that will accommodate a Graco carseat/carrier I would really appreciate it! Thanks so much!

I registered for a travel system. It comes with the infant car seat/carrier and the stroller that you can atatch the carrier to when using it. I’ve seen most people use theirs in grocery stores and out to eat but I’m wondering if it’s really worth the money with two perfectly good convertable infant to todler car seats. Do I need the carrier or is it just something everyone buys because they feel they have to?

I want to purchase a light weight umbrella stroller with the reclining function for my 3 month old. I bought one for my toddler when he was 6 months old but it reclined to far back once he could sit up. I just want to spend my money on one that will work now that he is small and one that he can grow into. Any suggestions?

I was checking the crash test ratings on the car seat my grandma bought for us and I saw that the car seat was recalled because the straps came loose, instead of offering a refund they were offering to send a free repair kit upon request.

How ever this "recall" happend in 2007, obviously this is 2009. Is it ok for this company to have sold me this car seat knowing about the recall and not warning me before it was purchased?

Best of all my son will be here any day and I don’t have a car seat!!
The car seat was from big lots, I wouldn’t call to get the "repair kit" because I don’t have time to wait for it, and because why should I have to get something I bought brand new fixed?

Any ways after arguing with the manager for about a half an hour they returned my money. aperantly for some reason it isn’t coming up in their computer that this item has been recalled so I must be lying. After I made it clear I was not leaving until she went and looked at the web site I had with the recall posted on it, she did so apologized and returned my money.

Is it legal to put a forward facing car seat in the middle or passenger side of a truck with no extended cab? Right now it’s the only vehicle we own, and I have been taking cabs to do my shopping/errands with my 2 yr old son. Money is getting REALLY tight and if it is legal or safe to put the car seat with us in the front seat of the truck, it would save us 100’s on cab fares every month. TY everyone for your time
