first, i have never suffered from seizures, or even migraines or nose bleeds. i have not suffered any hits to the head, nor am i withdrawing from drugs……but last night i think i had a seizure.
i was feeling hungry, so i went to the kitchen and was going to heat up left over spaghetti, feeling perfectly fine. after the microwave starts going, i start to feel a bit funny, like light headed and started to see spots. not knowing what was going on, i just wanted to get my food and head back to the bedroom where i had been. i take 2 steps, then drop the bowl and it shatters on the floor, i try to pick it up, but my arms just arent working right, i stumble over to the paper towels, knock the stand over, then just drop suddenly to the floor, still sitting up, and my arms and legs and head shook uncontrollably, while at this time i see odd, spidery balls of light…..i try to get up, before my mother inlaw who was sleeping in the next room comes in, manage to move around a little, almost clean up, then it happens again. i fall back down to my butt and start shaking uncontrollably.after a bit, i am able to control my body and clean up, then when my mother in law finally strolls in, and i try to explain to her, i notice my speech is very slurred……im sure she must have thought i was just drunk outta my mind, but i wasnt…..this whole ordeal seemed to last 5 mins….it scared the crap out of me,i have never experienced anything at all like this…..right after also, my left side of my lower back has been hurting, and hasnt stopped since….
was that even a seizure? could it have been caused by me not wearing a lead apron during a dental xray?
let me explain….about 5 moths ago, i went in for dental work….the xray tech was too busy flirting, and talking about the band on my shirt, that he never put one of those lead aprons on me, he took several xrays…ever since then i have been steadily getting weaker, like getting winded when i walk across the house, or pick up my 3 year old. then last night i have a seizure? followed by a horrible pain in my back area??? could there be any correlation????
serious answers please!!! thanks!!!

Can you remember the first day of kinder school
the incessant scolding about the quiet rule
The time Mary Jo Haas kissed you behind the coats
being sent to the principal just for passing notes
Remember the cool fort you and your sister built
out of lawn chairs and great grandmas heirloom quilt
When you and the Becker boys rode a raft over Big Creek Falls
the respect you got from other kids for showing you had balls
Recall when you got your license oh the thrill to drive a car
or when you first got your asskicked out behind that nudie bar
Spending two thousand dollars on a Harley that did not run
do you remember thinking then, my life is gonna be fun
Do you remember the day.. you met the love of your life
how nervous you were when you asked.. her to be your wife
Caught swimming naked in a public pool you both landed in jail
the embarrassing call to your mother in law asking for the bail
How about those two unforgettable days when your children were born
trips in the car with them giggling because you played Nick Nack on the horn
Their first duck hunt out in Shenanago swamp, they never left their seat
how terrified and worried they were that beavers would bite at their feet
Funny how certain things stick in your mind and others it just seems to munch
It’s eight pm, almost supper time and you can’t remember what you had for lunch

1. Sit infront of the tv with him on your lap until he falls asleep.
2. a ride in the car.
3. Put him in his stroller and walk around the neighborhood.
I ask this because today my mother in law asked me if my daughter (she’s 16 months old) was gonna take a nap and I said I was either gonna take her for a ride in the car or a stroll around the neighborhood to get her to take her nap.
My MIL said I was "spoiling her"…
She’d much rather sit infront of the tv with the baby on her lap until she falls asleep…
I don’t get it…
Which is best?
((Note: my baby will go to sleep by herself at night, but for some reason whe won’t take her nap unless I use one of take her for a walk, a ride in the car or if my MIL puts her on her lap and watch tv))
I’d appreciate it if ONLY PEOPLE WITH KIDS would answer…. thanks very much…
She DOES NOT CRY…
I will NOT LET MY BABY "CRY IT OUT"

I have a baby Bjorn carrier and love it, but someone mentioned that it puts strain on the baby, so I was wondering is there something similar that would be better to use? We mostly use it for walks, being at the mall, etc. I don’t really know anything about carriers. My mother in law found this one for me at a good price and I thought it was a good one but apparently not. Any ideas would be appreciated!

I’m currently 8 months pregnant and my husband and I have been fervently trying to pick out names. We don’t know the sex(it’s our first child and we want to be surprised) so we’ve picked out a veriety of both boy and girl names. For a girl we have: Louisa Emmeline, Gabriella Grace (we would call her Gigi for short), Olive Margret, and Eloise Jamison. For boys we have: Gaven Patrick, Emmerson Peter, and Brooks Palmer. The problem is my mother-in-law. We had a big family dinner at our house last week and we shared the names. Everyone seemed to like them, but my MIL hated them. She kept telling us how horrible they sounded and we would regret naming our child any of those names later. We let her vent for a while but my husband and I agreed that we would not change our names to please her. Throughout the whole week she’s been calling and "suggesting" new names for us. We’ve been trying to politely tell her that we don’t like the names she’s picked out but she won’t stop. My MIL is veeerrrryyyyy old fashioned and told us that if we have a daughter she shouldn’t have a middle name because traditionaly the girls maiden would become her middle name when she gets married. This crossed the line for me because not only is it sexist, it’s annoying that she thinks she has all this power over us. Throughout my whole pregnancy she’s been giving unwanted advice(no soda, no getting my hair done at salons, no painting my nails, no nuts of any kind, and lots of other "wives tales") but I’ve just been letting it go because it’s her first grandchild and she wants the best for him/her. But two days ago she unexpectedly came over with all these boxes. She opened them and it was towels, blankets, a changing table mat, car seat cover, diaper bag, and burp cloths all embroidered with -John Zachery- a name she suggested but we told her we didn’t like. This is making me so mad and I have no idea how to tell her to back off without ripping her head off! I’m sick of her butting in and I’m scared it’ll be worse when the baby here. At first I thought she just wanted the best for her grandbaby but now she’s just acting selfish. Sorry for ranting guys. Please tell me what to do. Thanks.

my in laws – more specifically, my mother in law – is freaking me out.
I have an 11 day old girl, and weve had some problems getting breastfeeding established, so im somewhat self conscious and unsure.
Whenever my mother in law comes to "help out" (consisting of her sitting beside the baby in her car seat, just staring at her for 4 hours and doing nothing at all "helpful") and i have to breastfeed, she comes over and like stares at the baby while shes nursing. Dont get me wrong, my mother in law is kind and sweet (and brings me pizza on her visits!) but it just unnerves me a bit…
I get stressed out, (i dont want this woman looking at my areola) and baby gets stressed and cant latch on.
What do i do? Ive tried covering her with a blanket but the mother in law comes and lifts it up so she can see better. I would go into another room, but if its just me and her i feel kinda bad … especially as she brings me pizza!
Help someone!

ok my mother in law bought us a stroller travel system at a yard sale it seems to be in good condition but i just learned that it’s not safe to use a car seat that is more than 5 years old. well i was looking at the model number and looked it up on the evenflo website to see if it was still good and to make sure there was no recalls well i put in the model number in correctly and it said that either i put in the number wrong or they no longer have that specific product.
now does that mean the car seat is bad?
i’m a first time mom so if anyone could please help it would be much appreciated.
thank you!
and it was made in ’02 but i need to know if they don’t hold that product anymore if that means it’s not good or safe?

My mother in law is planning on purchasing this for my husband and I’s first. We are expecting a boy and do not want any thing toooo girly. I have no idea what I am looking for and what is the most safe that we would also be able to use for future kids (if there are no recalls).
What do you have? Do you like it? etc.

I’m going to Cancun next week for my 30th B-day with my husband and our 4 month old daughter and some friends. People are telling me it’s not safe there. Should I be concerned about taking my baby? I’m getting kinda nervous.
My mother in-law is also going with us to help watch my baby when we are out.

My mother-in-law drives a new Volkswagen Beetle. She got a car seat for my son and installed it. When I went to check that the car seat was properly installed, I noticed that the seat belt didn’t lose the slack/didn’t lock. Does it lock automatically when the car starts, or is there something wrong with her seat belt?

My 12 month old baby HATES riding in the car. He started in an infant-carrier style seat. We then switched him to a more comfortable rear-facing seat. Recently, we turned that same seat around to be forward facing. We’ve tried giving him toys, a sipee cup, putting a mirror on the seat he faces. It doesn’t matter if the trip is for 5 minutes or 45 minutes. He starts screaming the second he realizes that we are putting him in his car seat. He gets so upset that he gets red splotches all over his face and he throws up. Sometimes, we can entertain him by playing peekaboo or giving him Cheerios, but this only keeps him calm for a few minutes. My mother-in-law suggested that he may have motion sickness.
Is there anything that we can do to make riding in the car less of a nightmare?
I think that Nimo2 is right. The other answers were good, but I’ve tried those things or variations of them and nothing seems to work. I was afraid that it was a stage that we would have to suffer through.
What I think that I’ll try though is getting him to sit or play around the car seat outside of the car as was suggested (THANK YOU). Just looking at the seat makes him cry. Maybe getting him used to the seat in a happy non-car environment will help.

Hey all how old does a baby have to be to travel by air over seas. My mother in law has cancer and wants to see the baby she was suppose to come here but now she is having problems and the doctors say she shouldn’t. This poses a proble with me because I am not thrilled in having to take my newborn son to over seas. But I want her to see her grandson. What’s your advise.

My sister-in-law has a Graco travel system and we are looking at a Evenflo travel system. My mother-in-law would like to be able to use the same base in her car instead of needing 2 different ones. We have heard that the base will work with both brands but I can not find anything for sure.
