1. Sit infront of the tv with him on your lap until he falls asleep.
2. a ride in the car.
3. Put him in his stroller and walk around the neighborhood.

I ask this because today my mother in law asked me if my daughter (she’s 16 months old) was gonna take a nap and I said I was either gonna take her for a ride in the car or a stroll around the neighborhood to get her to take her nap.
My MIL said I was "spoiling her"…
She’d much rather sit infront of the tv with the baby on her lap until she falls asleep…
I don’t get it…

Which is best?

((Note: my baby will go to sleep by herself at night, but for some reason whe won’t take her nap unless I use one of take her for a walk, a ride in the car or if my MIL puts her on her lap and watch tv))
I’d appreciate it if ONLY PEOPLE WITH KIDS would answer…. thanks very much…
She DOES NOT CRY…
I will NOT LET MY BABY "CRY IT OUT"

I’m not getting her a toddler bed just yet cuz she’s only 15 months old, but I was thinking about it today because when we were at the store today she saw a toddler bed and wouldn’t stay off of it! She goes down great at nap and bedtime, I just lay her down with her paci and she goes to sleep (she may fuss for a few minutes). Do you think she’ll transition well?

How did you get your toddler used to his/her bed?

Hey, is anyone here really good at interpreting dreams? If so, may you please tell me what this dream I just had a couple of hours ago mean?

I took a short nap of about 30 minutes – the dream was about myself and my fiance. We were both in a car and one of us was driving (I don’t recall whether it was me or him, most likely it was me driving – btw. I don’t drive IRL, he does), so anyway I guess I was driving real fast like about 100+ mph on the highway because I guess I liked the rush.

He was on the passenger seat and I was going so fast that all of a sudden I lost control of my car and we went into a "field" and the next thing I know I crashed the car onto a tree, he survived, but I died. Also, it’s weird because I felt like I died in real life (my subconscious told me "you died" and I felt "dead") it’s weird! It was like a lucid dream. My whole body went NUMB, then my son woke me up crying (he was asleep).
Somehow I did know I wasn’t dead because when I waking up slowly, I said to myself "see? I am not dead, I’m really not dead!" (I was scared while I was feeling that "dead" feeling). Then I opened my eyes and here I am..thank God.
Sorry, I said "I am not dead because I see the light, I’m really not dead" and then I opened my eyes.

How to clean chocolate syrup off a toddler bed?

One of my daughters decided to paint her bedroom with chocolate syrup while I was laying the baby down for a nap. I got the syrup off the walls and bedding, and have a carpet cleaner for the floor, but no matter how hard I scrub, it seems to be staining her toddler bed (the plastic on it). It is purple, so I can’t use diluted bleach water. Any suggestions would be much appreciated, because she just got this bed for Christmas. Thanks.

how do i get my mom to treat me like a baby? you know like eat baby food, seat in a high chair, sleep in a crib, suck on a pacifier,wear/use diapers, drink out of a bottle, be put down for a nap, pushed in a stroller, ride in a car seat, and wear baby clothes.

We do not want a standing one as he still needs a NAP in the stroller when out, he will mostly walk with harness when not in need of a nap, but we need one the infant seat will be in as well. Any suggestions, we have an escort sw so we do not have a whole lot of room in the hatch either.

I went out to strip club w/t what thought to be friend from hs. I was drinking 5-6beers fast within 1hr or 2hr ON AN complete EMPTY stomach. I felt drunk for a little while and then cant recall anything after a certain point that night waking up in my back seat of my own car! with vomit on myself and on the floor, sneakers etc. the first thing I did when I woke up was assume I may have been raped & very paranoid I went to touch my area and I had gone to the bathroom halfway in my pants..and I went home took a nap threw up later. my anus did not hurt one bit…but I was so paranoid and scared I didnt remove the fecal matter lodged in my rectum. It turned hard and I just left it in me until the next day. It hurt to remove it due to my hair I tore it painfull..my anus didnt hurt so I thought maybe I wasnt raped…but my area felt kind of weird and I had hemroids but painless. uncomfortable I figured this could have been from going in my pants and leaving it shoved up there for 24+hrs which I read you can get from leaving objects in your anus. or I was raped that night.

Infant carrier VS regular car seat?

Am I missing something here?……

If a newborn/ infant is worn/ carried the majority of the time, are there any pros to having an infant carrier…. other than dining out & the convenience of letting them finish their short nap if they fall asleep in the car and then have to be moved?
Thanks everyone (no thumb’s down from me, btw). We have 2 infant carriers, my oldest used one and my youngest used his as a car seat and that’s it. My husband wants to use one w/ our 3rd child but I don’t see the point. Just want to make sure I’m not missing something.

Do you quit letting your child use the pacifier?

Do you switch to a toddler bed?
From a toddler bed to a traditional bed?

Do you allow your child a pillow?

Do you quit covering outlets?

Do you quit using baby monitors when they are asleep?

Do you quit using baby gates around stairs?

I’m curious as to what your family has done – or what the experts say.
Thanks!
Do you quit letting your child use the pacifier?
My oldest quit at 18 months – but he was an easy child (and I was pregnant w/brother and didn’t want any confusion over what was a baby item and what wasn’t) – My youngest is 2 and still has it at nap/night, but never any other time. I’d like to break him of it, but it is hard (both boys sleep in the same room – space issue)

Do you switch to a toddler bed?
Oldest @ 2.5 so baby brother could have the crib. Youngest, at around 20 months – was ready…

From a toddler bed to a traditional bed?
When we have the finances/space…

Do you allow your child a pillow?
When they start to sleep in a toddler bed!

Do you quit covering outlets?
We still have ours covered. Our oldest is 4, and still attempts to mess with them occasionally…

Do you quit using baby monitors when they are asleep?
We still use them – hubby is dependent…

Do you quit using baby gates around stairs?
We still use it (ages 4 & 2)…
Thanks to everybody who answered. I wanted to get peoples opinions on when some of these safety measures aren’t needed anymore.

I do strongly agree that the BIGGEST factors in determining whether a particular safety feature is needed or not is family situations and child’s personalities. Because there is no right/wrong answer on this – I am going to have a tough time picking best!

Once again, thank you :-)

My daughter just turned two years old and she is still sleeping in her crib at home for both nap and bedtime. We are talking about starting to move her to her toddler bed, but even when we talk about it, she has NO INTEREST and will even protest when we have tried to physically put her in there. Now, she goes over to a home daycare during the day and sleeps in a regular bed there, so I know that she can do it and isn’t afraid. Does anyone have any fun tips to make her more excited about it? We are pregnant with our third and will need the crib by about may of next year, so we don’t feel the need to push it yet, but would like to start the transition to give her enough time.

I just moved my 20 month old daughter into her princess toddler bed the day before yesterday. She stays in it all night, no problem, she’s always been a good sleeper. But, when I try to get her to take a nap during the day, it’s impossible. I can hear her playing around in her room and I know she is not napping.

i was wonderin’ if any of you moms let your baby sleep in the car seat (obviously NOT still in the car haha) when you get home from running around. sometimes i will get home, get him out of the car and hell be sleeping and instead of getting him out ill let him rest.
is that wrong ? (i make sure the safety straps are comfy and that hes comfy)
and itll only be for a short nap until his lil eyes pop open!

thanks guys :)

hes 3 mnths and teeeeething so hes been a grumpy baby the last two days :(
NEGLECT? IM WATCHING HIM.. IM IN THE SAME ROOM AS HIM. im just letting him sleep. haha. neglect? puh-lease.

My daughter is two and we just bought her a toddler bed for her room. She is only two, but she is very strong and tore her crib up. We cannot afford another crib, and think she is big enough for a big bed. Its only been two nights, last night she did really good, but she still hasnt taken a nap on it or gone down easily. Im wondering if anyone else has put their 2 year old in a toddler bed and how they handled it.. Thanks!
