A little back story that might help shed light on this dream. About four years ago, I moved to Florida to take care of my mom who had cancer. It was a trying year and a half leading up to her death and it has been something that has been with me and emotionally scarred me. My mom and I were very close. After my mom died, I moved back to California (which is where I lived before she passed away). It’s been less than 3 years since she died.
Last night I dreamt that I was in California living with my mom. I knew I had to leave to go to Florida and care for her. In the dream, she wasn’t as sick as I remember. I was packing my stuff and then came to the realization that I didn’t want to move to Florida (I really do NOT like Florida. I was raised there and have terrible memories). I told my mom she should stay with me in California. We could share my two bedroom apartment. There were characters from my present life that are injected in the dream but I cannot recall the context. The dream is fuzzy and there are certain aspects that I recall clearly. My mom had been on “charity” at the cancer center in Florida. In my dream, getting her medical attention was a concern but I told her she could apply for MediCAL. I felt selfish for not wanting to move to Florida.
Then I’m in a car with my mom driving on the freeway. My mom is driving and she’s moving erratically. I asked her to pull over so I could stop. We were near LAX and I told her that it was dangerous. She wouldn’t pull over because she was afraid to. Next thing I know, it’s dark and we’re in a ghetto. I told my mom that it’s too late to pull over, we’re in the ghetto and we’ll probably get mugged if we stop. I told her to keep driving. Then a kid with his mother started screaming and my mom slowed down. The kid reached his arm through the driver’s window over my mom and grabbed me in the passenger seat. He wouldn’t let go. I told my mom to drive but she didn’t. I told the kid to let go. I screamed. I was scared and so was my mom.
I told him I would give him candy if he would let me go. My mom was sick and she needed to get home. He let me go and I threw some hard candy to him as we drove away.
That’s all I can remember. It has left me a mess today. I keep thinking of my mom and have cried on and off all day.
Does anyone with dream interpretation insight have a clue as to what this means from a psychological perspective?

It’s the only vehicle I own and purchasing a ‘family compact car’ is not in the question right now.

I just don’t think the sideways mounted seats in the cab are that safe. Correct me if I’m wrong though.

The middle seat & passenger seat in the front both supply anchors for the ‘anchor carseats’. I currently have the car seat in the middle in the front. Not the most comfortable fit but I figure the middle of the truck is the safest?

Hello – We are looking for help in finding a safe and suitable convertible car seat that will fit in our 2006 Subaru Legacy wagon.

Our requirements:
- Convertible car seat
- RF from now – as long as possible (35/40lb)
- shallow enough to fit behind tall hubby. (6’4")
- note that we are in Canada, so some car seats aren’t available to us

We had babe’s infant car seat in the middle and that worked fine. We now have a Britax Marathon (not for long… see below) in the window seat because it won’t secure properly in the middle.

We ended up trying a Sunshine Kids Radian and a Britax Marathon at the store. The Radian was clearly a no-go; it simply would not fit rear-facing with my husband (6’4") in the seat in front of it (even in the passenger seat). Shame, because I can see that it would be *brilliant* FF, but that’s about 15 months away…

We bought the Britax Marathon from Toys r Us and have been test-driving it for almost a week. Hubby can sit in front of it in the passenger seat, but barely, and can’t drive in front of it.

Beyond this inconvenience, it’s such a pain to load our daughter into it because it’s so bulky and because of the angle of the Subaru Legacy wagon rear window frame. It means I have to cup her head and turn her sideways to slip her into the car around the obstacles! It’s ridiculous. We tried to convince ourselves it’s doable, but considering she’s only 8 months, 28" long and 14lbs… when she starts to get bigger this just isn’t practical.

So – back to the seemingly endless job of car seat shopping!

Any experience or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Now that it is spring my 7 month maltipoo and I are making more trips in the car (to the dog park.) Up until now on quick trips she usually rides in my lap or the passenger seat and longer trips I put her in a laundry basket. But I am seeking a safer way to make car trips. I have been searching on line but does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations for car seats that have worked well you?
Crude comments are not welcome or useful. This is question is specifically about the safety of my dog. I am a proud owner of wonderful maltipoo. I could absolutely care less that she isn’t pure breed; after all I got her to love not to breed. It is not that I mind someone calling my dog a mutt its just those who like to jab those comments in just to be a nuisance is something I don’t appreciate. I remember seeing this at a young age probably in the early 90s on TV.
The setting was in some city and there was a gang of kids, teens-20s in age of white or Asian ethnicity i think, i believe they were gun dealers i recall one scene where they were selling guns out of the back of a van near a playground.
Anyway here’s where it gets weird, there’s these 3 people and i think they were from the future or aliens or something, not sure, but there was 1 white guy that was the leader, another fat white guy, and a white women among them. These 3 were hunting down the gun dealing gang members and collecting their eyeballs in these tubes…i have no idea why maybe they were bounty hunters or something.
Anyway there’s another character that’s like a police detective or something and hes also involved somehow, another white guy I believe. I recall a scene near the beginning of the movie where some random criminal had shot a mother in the head in her car in a back ally or something late at night and he’s robing the dead women while her kids crying in the passenger seat and the detective guy comes out of nowhere and stops him.
It was a very graphic movie, a lot of gun fights and stuff like that, I remember one gunfight that was in a stairwell and one of the gun dealers was shooting up the stairs with a big shotgun at the bounty hunters or whatever they were, and another where a gun dealer was running down a street and had like a tec-9 or something.
I’m not entirely sure what happens at the end but i think all the bounty hunters or 3 guys from the future or whatever all die, and most of the gun dealers maybe except for 1.

Sorry I’m sketchy on the details, hope someone can help me out there, Its weird how vividly i can recall this movie that i saw like 2 decades ago at such a young age, i really want to watch it again or at least figure out the name of it, it’s really bugging me and has been for years.

This will be my first infant car seat purchase and I’m definitely in need of some advice. There are so many choices and things to consider. So, I’ll rely on you expert moms and dads out there! I’ve been reading consumer reports and basically have narrowed it down to the Britax Chaperone, Graco Snugride, and Safety 1st 35 Air. But, what do you think? I need something that is 1) SAFE!, 2) fairly lightweight so that I can carry it (I don’t have my mom arms yet!), and 3) not going to make my baby sweat! Also, I have an ’03 Honda Accord. So, it can’t be HUGE. I think my car seat will end up behind the passenger seat as my seats are gigantic. Anyway, any help/suggestions would be great!!! Thank you!!!!!

to wear a seat belt if sitting in the driver or passenger seat?

I was in a bad car accident about 7 years ago. The car I was in was turning left, and a car ran a red light and hit us. I was in the passenger seat. I sustained a broken pelvis, and moderate head trauma. I have no recollection of the entire day, the accident, or afterward.

I feel like I have changed so much since my accident.
-My memory is horrible. If I have a conversation with someone and then another person asks me what we talked about, I can’t remember much. I can’t recall the details.
-I cannot articulate my thoughts. Before my accident I always raised my hand and participated in class discussions. I hardly ever speak in class now, because I don’t know how to say what I’m thinking.
-I remember nothing that I learned in my college classes.
-I have a hard time telling people stories, because I cannot put all the pieces together, and often times I don’t make sense
-I don’t understand jokes as much and find some movies and TV shows confusing
-Basically I have a difficult time understanding concepts that most people get right away.

Does this sound like the symptoms of TBI or head trauma? If so, what can I do to get tested? Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

5. if the temp. light comes on while driving, you should:
– drive to nearest gas station
-pull over, turn motor off, and check fluid level
– pull over and spray water on the engine
– all of the above

Now, Because they can be easily checked for free, Are they? And how do you package your car seat for flying? Thanks you !

I let my sitter take my 9 month old daughter somewhere today, but her 2006 H3 only had the LATCH system on the side seats. In the Britax book it says to use LATCH whenever possible, so we went ahead and installed it behind the front passenger seat with that seat all the way forward.
I did of course install the versa-tether under the front seat too. I guess Im nervous since I have always put my daughter in the middle except the one time she was sick and I needed to be able to see her, but we dont have LATCH in our truck.
Anyone else end up doing this?
Now both of my parents are literally freaking out that I let our responsible 25 year old sitter take my daughter somewhere. They think she is going to kidnap her. AND they are ticked that she is on the side seat…
Matt’s Mommy, good point. Yeah the age thing is irrelevant, considering Im 24 and hubby is 26. They just worry that she’ll take off with her. This sitter loves my daughter, but she is great with us and is even trying to hook me up with another mom she sits for. I have work contacts, and a page of references. Still, my mother is calling me every 10 minutes "Nobody picked up the house phone yet, where are they?" (they probably just left)

Ok. I’m 18. I’m from a small town called Madrid (population 350) that is about 15-20 miles away from Dothan. I’m driving down a road that I drive every day to Dothan, Alabama. Its about a 2 1/2 mile road that I take to get to the main highway. Anyway the speed limit on that road is 25 mph. And its been that way since I’ve been a kid. Everyone in this small town of mine does not drive 25 mph on any of the roads in town. My grandmother doesn’t drive 25 mph for Christ sake. Anyway, I was going about 45 mph(like everyone drives on that road) and I see this black unmarked car, that’s definitely not going 25mph, about to meet me and then strobe lights and all come on.He pulled half over into my lane.I thought he was gonna crash into me. I slowed down and saw that he was rolling down his window so I did the same. He pulled up and said "HEY!" or something, before he was even at a complete stop. I’m still slowing down and putting my car in neutral (its a stickshift) and braking. So my cars in neutral and naturally rolls a tiny bit and he screams at me "STOP!". So I pulled the e-brake to halt the car from going .00001 mph.Then he says, "You didn’t see my lights!". Or something along those lines…I said," Oh". Before I could say anything else he cuts me off with "STOP BEING SUCH A SMART ASS!!!"
Then he drives past me, spins his tires and pulls his car around. He gets out and walks up to my window and yells "GET OUT OF THE CAR!" My younger cousin is in the passenger seat still. I get out and he slams my car door and pushes and screams at me to put my hands on his vehicle. He searches me and what not. I can’t recall everything he said. But after about a minute of listening to his yelling about "I WAS GONNA JUST TELL YOU TO SLOWDOWN BUT YOU WERE SUCH A SMARTASS" etc etc, I asked him if he lived at the trailer about 1/4 mile where we were at. And he said "OH YEAH I DO!"
Anyway in the end he didn’t give me a ticket. He didn’t apologise for being a complete asshole or nothing. He was very obnoxious. I’ve never seen a cop this rude in my life. He might’ve been drunk for all I know.

I pass that trailer everyday and I see a marked cop car that says "Dothan Police Department". A while later I told my dad the story and he said that he was out of his jurisdiction. Dothan is about 15-20 miles away. Cops are supposed to protect and serve. Not abuse the badge and yell at random people. Never in this whole event did I smirk or even attempt to talk back. I’m sure this happens everywhere. I feel like I should do something about it but I don’t know what to do. Its cops like these that give them a bad name. And they wonder why they’re hated so much. I felt like I was being picked on by an elementary school bully.

it doesnt say anything about it in my owners manuel. I have a 2010 kia forte and my son will be moving to the back passenger seat as the new baby will be in the middle. All it says is that they cannot be in the front (obviously) with the air bags on…but what about the side airbags in the back? Please help!

In Texas is it legal for a child to ride in the front passenger seat IF they have the proper safety/booster seat? If not, than are there exceptions for persons driving a single cab truck?
Or say you have a five seater car and are carrying 4 children that still require the use of safety seats? I know that owners manuals and warnings advise against it but I want to know if there is an actual law regarding it.
