Seat belt was slow in retracting and got caught in the door lock region while the belt clip was higher up than what got stuck. The door is shut but I can’t get the belt loose.

Aren’t buses or subway cars more likely to get in accidents, just like cars, in which you are required to wear a seat belt? On airplanes, however, how much safety/protection does the seat belt offer in case of a crash?

Just a silly question.

How do you get a seat belt to UNlock?

The middle back seat in my SUV has a seat belt problem.. it is locked/stuck. The seat folded down and wont come back up. … do i have to take it to the shop? anyone?
The seatbelt is not fastened - it is stuck in the shoulder feeder - it will not come down to buckle/fasten. The pulley or whatever is in side is not ‘clicking’ to release the belt and let me pull it out.

I just put a new seat belt in a 1998 toyota camry - belt cam from a 2001 camry but was identical part number.

Now air bag light flashes. I already tried disconnecting battery.
Thanks

I know that motorcycles don’t come with seat belts but come on don’t you think that a 6 seat belt ticket is a little outrages? I think the state is trying to make money back for lost unemployment compensation.

Honda is better than Hyundai read this!?

I have 2 cars, a 05 hyundai sonata with 14000 miles, and a 87 honda accord with 276000 miles. My sonata has had multiple problems, about a month ago i was headed to work in the sonata, and the electrical system failed on the freeway, everthing including the engine shut off, i coasted to the side of the road, i could not get out because you have to press the unlock button, i was stuck in my car for four hours and was late to work, then i got fired. i took the car into the dealer and they said it was fine, as i was pulling out of the parking spot at the hyundai dealership, the car remained in reverse making this grinding noise, i put the shifter in park and the electrical system failed locking me in the car once again, the dealership had to open the doors manually causing damage, that proved to the dealership that there was a problem, but the dealership will not cover it because my last oil change was at a differant hyundai dealer while i was on vacation,so i payed for it myself taking out a second loan for my car, a few weeks later my sister took my car to walmart, while on the freeway the power steering locked up, she rear ended a ford in front of her at 75 mph and the airbags did NOT deploy, i am filing a recall on my so-not-a good car, and thank goodness she was wearing her seat belt, and wasnt in a e-launch-ra through the windsheild. i am so pissed. but my 1987 honda accord hasnt had a single problem and it has 276000 miles on it, i am getting rid of my hyundai and buying a new accord, take my advice, buying a generic cheap peice of crap like a hyundai and a kia is not worth it, pay for the leader like honda and not the coppier, have you checked out the looks of the new sonata and accord, they are identical, and that disgusts me that generic companies even think that they can come even close to competing with honda and toyota!

Description: it was may 28, 2009 about 7-7:30pm. it was a residental area, 2 lanes, day and dry outside. i was traveling in the right lane and stopping to turn left in a private drive. i drive an 2001 expedition and had a small 2 wheel car dolly attached and had a passenger. the vehicles behind me slowed down and witnessed me yielding and turn left in the drive. in the opposite lane came a honda car flying at a high rate of speed from far down the road (Which the speed limit was 40mph)and struck my side of vehicle. she left 67 ft skid marks plus 2 1/2 ft more after contact with my vehicle. she has no insurance, driving on suspended license, speeding. she had 2 small kids. one was in a seat belt and the other was small in a car seat that was not bucked to the car and was flipped over facing floor board. the lady jumped out of her honda car getting on her phone. i myself got her kids out of car. the witness right behind me stated in audio to insurance company that she witnessed everything. she witnessed me yield and says to her opinion that it was the other drivers fault due to high rate of speed. the off duty officer 2 cars behind me says he never saw the honda when i was turning and then his veiw was obstructed due to me turning after i yielded. my passenger even witnessed it, he was on the side that was hit. the lady whom struck my vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed, on suspended license, and no auto insurance. the insurance says im 60% at fault and her at 40%. i feel thats only cause i cant recover any profit if im over 50% at fault, which i shouldnt be at fault. i have pictures, witness statements. i need help recovering my (totalled) vehicle loss and pain in suffering. she wasnt even legal to be driving and i was totally legal with license and insurance. so therefore i feel she is at fault

2004 Dodge Neon SXT Seatbelt?

We have a 2004 Dodge Neon SXT that we bought in 2007. Its been a fairly good car, until today. My husband was putting in my son’s carseat (we’ve taken it out and put it back in many times) and he went to clip in the seatbelt and pull on it to make it tighter and all of a sudden the belt buckle (the female part of the seat belt that you put the male part into) just detached from the fabric!!! Not tore or anything, just like it completely came undone and slipped through. I was terrified! Then I pulled gently on the buckle part behind the drivers seat and it did the same thing!! We were not pulling very hard or anything at all, just the normal amount to tighten the seatbelt. I’m scared to death to put my kids back there. So I called the dealership where we bought the car and the parts guy said it did the same thing on his 2004 as well! And there hasn’t been any recalls on this. He acted like it was no big deal and to just replace the buckles-which is going to cost 0+plus labor. I think that is something that should be replaced for free. So I called the NHTSA and filed a complaint with them and sent an email to the manufacturer. Everyone I talk to is acting like its no big deal!! Thank God we pulled on it a little bit and not just buckled it in, could you imagine what would happen in an accident if a 5′4 pg woman could pull it out??? Has this happened to anyone else? Am I just overreacting or does this seem like a general concern to anyone else?? I’ve never heard of replacing seatbelts, they’re not tires.
thank you for your responses, I’m just a very scared mother, and I don’t like the idea of putting my kids in danger knowingly.

I am 20 years old.
Does it even go on your record?
I was told I could not apply for a job because I had a ticket… its my only ticket ever and I have never been in an accident. I usually always wear my seat belt!

I have seen people with seat belt straps for use on a messenger bag, and I want to make a guitar strap out of a Corvette seat belt. Where can I get the necessary material and how do I put it together?

Do you have to put an infant in the middle of the backseat or can it go on the passenger side? Also when you install the base and you got the seat belt as tight as it will go is it okay for the base to move about half an inch in each direction? The car seat itself shouldn’t move, but from my understanding its okay if the base moves a little is this correct.

my husband insists it’s fine, but i’m concerned..
we got our convertible car seat (a britax) so that it has no side to side movement, but it still moves front to back… mainly it can be lifted up at the head & pivots at the seatbelt toward the back of the seat…
we don’t have the latch system, it’s just held in by the seatbelt, and there’s nothing else in the car to attach it to (nothing on the floorboard like one option in the manual shows)
the manual says nothing about front to back movement…

i’m going to get it checked out, but i have to wait till our appt & i just want to know until then…

is this safe???
yeah, it can rock.
but it’s a convertible seat, not an infant seat.

(side note on not being able to leave without them checking the fit–the stupid hospital i delivered at required us to bring the seat for them to checked how the *baby* fit in it, and REFUSED to come out to help us check the fit in the car–and after taking it out to bring it up we couldn’t get it back in right!! we were there for an hour until some random lady helped us!)
yeah, i have a towel under it now (otherwise there’d be too much slack in the seatbelt due to the buckle placement & it had side to side movement) but it still rocks front to back. the seat in front of it is back all the way, but the issue is still that it can be lifted from the front edge of the seat, so the head of the car seat can be tilted toward the rear of the car…
it’s *tight* in there, it *pivots* at the seat belt…

(hard to explain i guess!)

the car seat has a tether to hold it down, but my car doesn’t have anything to attach it to… the manual treats the tether as an option…? but it’s not entirely clear…
our fire stations don’t check car seats anymore. we called them all & they don’t do it! one particular police station does it by appt only. it’s so frustrating!
without the towel, the buckle is too close to use the locking clip on the seat and has too much slack.

WITH the towel (in the "crack" of the regular seat), it raises the seat edge (also creating a better incline) so the belt has further to travel and the buckle stops short of the lockign clip–*eliminating* excess slack that allowed the car seat to move side to side.
