My 4 1/2 month old son will only sleep in my arms or in his swing (without it even having to be turned on). What I conclude from this is that he likes to be cuddled. What I want to know is if anyone has any suggestions on how to get him to feel cuddled in his crib.. safely. Infant sleep positioners would probably do the trick, but they have recently been deemed unsafe. Any suggestions?

I want my infant to sleep through the night so when should be the best time to start giving her cereal ? And does giving cereal means she will gain a lot of weight?

How do you co-sleep with your baby?

I know it’s sounds weird, but how do you do it? Does the baby sleep very close to you, or far? And what do you wear to sleep so you can nurse easily? My daughter sleeps in a pack and play next to our bed and I tried few times to bring her to bed, but it just gets uncomfortable. She sleeps with her head on my arm, so I can’t even move… How do you do it?
And I know about all the safety issues.
Thanks!

Hey there. I was wondering about this. Now this is my very first time on a plane. So I was wondering how much things will cost. The delta airlines said that child restraints and sleep area (bassinet) are checked as free. So dose that mean My car sea and his pack and play are free? ( his pack &play is his bassinet its a 3 in one combo). than I was wondering if i can have liquids for under like ill be bringing the following.

Unopened cans for baby formula.
Shampoo & conditioner.
Baby wash
Bath gel soap.
Perfume.
Tooth paste.
Medicine for my son and for me.

as long as I put all these in a zip lockk bag that I will be using ass a checked bag for under?

and also how would i avoid the popping sound in ears for myself and my 4 month old son.

Thank you for who ever answers this,
By the way, I’m moving so hats why i have so much liquids. and I’m flying delta airlines

Okay, so I know it’s safest to put your baby to sleep on their back, but my daughter has been sleeping on her stomach since she was 3 months old, she refuses to sleep on her back and if I put her on her back when she’s asleep she immediately rolls over to her stomach. Is this a problem seeing as she’s been doing it for a while now. She turned 7 months on the 11th and she just started sleeping in her crib again, she had been sleeping with us in our bed since she was 3 weeks old. I’m just worried about SIDS. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Yeah she rolls over on her own has been doing that for quite some time now. She crawls, moves her head just fine, and she also pulls herself to stand.

She’s been excellent at holding her head up, pretty much since the day she was born.

Thanks to the people who have answered so far. I feel better now.

Charianna 9.5 y/o: completely out of a stroller!
Danielle 8 y/o: completely out of stroller also!
Scarlett 6 y/o: completely out except 4 naps!
Anabella 4 y/o twin: same as Scarlett
Ansley 4 y/o twin: same as Anabella & Scarlet
Gabriella 2 y/o: still in stroller!
Kingston 10 months twin: still in stroller!
Kelsey Marie 10 months twin: still in stroller
Those are my kids names and ages. I push around a quad-stroller around right now! But I’m due to have a baby soon (about 2-3 months). I’m usually REALLY early. So I want to have as many out of diapers and strollers as possible! Is it wrong to let my daughters Scarlett and the twins still ride in strollers? They don’t always ride in them, just when they get tired.
i don’t baby them. it’s just when we have to go all day, especially during the summer, i can’t let them wander off and lay down on the floor and sleep.
most of the time all of them walk except the youngest 3

This has been going on for at least a few months, maybe even more. I’m not at all bothered by it, because each and every time i’ve been in these places it’s always peaceful and familiar which makes me love going to sleep. What’s strange though, the content can sometimes be intimidating and could easily be a nightmare for most people, but my dream mind doesn’t allow it to be scary and I always glide thru it silently and without a worry.
There’s more than one recurring location and i’ll go into detail as best I can. Some are vivid, some elusive.
The one that stands out to me the most is the forest. It’s always the exact same forest. The trails are always the same. I’ve been in a fairly familiar camping situation which seems to stem from my early days as a girl scout. And sometimes I’m lead out into a field or an open meadow with swamp-like bodies of water. There is rarely any sign of movement or life, unless there are people with me from my everyday life. It all varies. I remember specifically I was leading my father through the forest as if we were trying to get somewhere. We climbed rocks that i’ve climbed on my own before. The forest is normally green and very sheltered and peaceful. But specifically, when I was with my dad there were pink flowers that covered the grounds and the trees. I don’t remember us speaking to one another, we were just going somewhere, and I dont recall where we ended up. I remember one dream where it seemed like I was half alone, but there were people with me from certain angles. And I was on a type of raft in those swamp like waters (again only halfway alone on it) and the perception of it was sort of like a horror movie in progress. As if I was watching it being filmed with an easygoing composure (what I meant by intimidating content that I am unaffected by) While on the raft, Michael Myers was trudging in the waters behind and I remember sometimes it wouldn’t be him, just something I was trying to escape from, sorta like tag from my point of view. There were victims, bloody I should say; that I would see laying in varous areas. Thru the whole dream it gave off an adrenaline/playful feel yet at the same time serious, that I should have been scared of. Sometimes I’ll be in the forest and after it transcends into the meadow as it always does, I then somehow end up in a water park with tedious rides, rides that wouldn’t be existing in everyday life. The water park is recurring as well. And normally i’m accompanied by various family members. Never friends. There are other people and families there too whom I’ve never seen before. And then there is a cabin I always visit in this forest. My dad has been there with me, and my good friend Isaac and his friend as well. One dream was strange, when we were there we could pick what the theme of the inside looked like. For example, we picked a party/club scene and thats exactly what it looked like inside. Disco, lights, you know..party. Before we left we set it back to normal. Once we left, we ended up in another recurring location of mine. Inside or outside of the same Walmart, or just a store which always looks the same and feels the same but never in real life have I seen or been there. And its always night time and feels so real and vivid. I love the night time btw, and I love freedom. And outside its like a shopping center parking lot, which I remember specifically experiencing that dream with my boyfriend with me. One night there, was especially amazing seeing as I was with him, there were alot of stars and it was snowing all at the same time. It wasn’t cold, just snowing with a comfortable temperature. The scene is always quite beautiful to me. There was one dream I really wish I knew how to interpret. I think I have a good idea. But I was with my boyfriend (who I love with all my heart) and we were in a car. He was driving, and I was in the passenger seat. The ride was something that will never be experienced in the real world. It was like driving and flying at the same time. And there was a sense of doom and suspense which he was getting us away from, yet again; still so peaceful and ethereal. There are many dreams where I’m on the highway right by my house and I know it is that specific highway but it’s fairly different than it normally looks. I am always driving and I am always alone apart from the drive with my boyfriend. And on that road, which as time elapses and I continue to ride, the scenery is familiar to me yet distant. When I drive in dreams, it feels real and I feel completely carefree. I’m 16 btw, with no liscence nor trust to currently drive. Last night’s dream was another location i’ve dreamt many times before. It’s a big and rich house with many rooms in it and while I was there last night, it had that haunted feeling. At the same time peaceful. As I look back NOW, i dont remember it being haunted. But my subconscious dr

My daughter 18 mos, kept climbing out of her crib so we had to get a toddler bed, she sleeps in it but wakes up 3-4 times a night and gets up and bangs on her door till I go in there then I have to try to get her back to sleep. So I want to know how YOU did it? Thank you and any advice is appreciated

Basically all I am asking is how to I teach her not to pull when I take her for walks or to go to the bathroom? I’d love to be able to go outside and have her walk beside me instead of five miles ahead pulling my arm out of the socket(okay so maybe not that bad but you get the point). I have her in a no pull harness but it doesn’t do much other than keep her from gagging like she does in a normal collar.

Other good obedience tips and advice would be great! We are working on sit, stay, shake, and lay down. She knew sit already but she’s very high energy and when she gets excited she won’t do it.

Since she was used to being outdoors 24/7 for the past few months we are also working on getting her to realize the carpet isn’t her place to use the bathroom. She goes out when we wake up, before she goes to bed, and every 3 hours in between. We haven’t had anymore potty accidents on the floor since the first day we got her but she hasn’t realized she needs to poop when we are outdoors not after we come in. Any advice for that? She does that once in the evening it seems.

A little background info on her:
So I just moved out a few months ago with my fiance and we just received a dog from my mothers friend last week. She was housebroke and lived in the city(by some bad people) before the lady got her. She adored her but needed to give her away as she was herding every single animal on the farm around and stressing them out. I think she is Border Collie X Pitbull with possibly some Rottie or Dobie in her but not certain. Since I am not working I want to give her my all and take the time to train her. She’s a sweetheart but full of energy and muscle. She just turned 1 in April. She loves to play fetch although she has a bad habit of chewing up her stuffed toys. She’s pretty much well behaved with being indoors, since she doesn’t fit comfortably in the crate we have she curls up on the floor in our room to sleep at night and does well. I’ve owned dogs all my life but they were outdoor dogs and I was never really dedicated to training them – plus they were all small shelties or naturally walked on the leash beside me.
Oh one more thing, whenever a cat goes by or she sees one I lose attention completely and can’t get it back till shortly after that cat is completely gone. Any way to help or fix this?
I won’t put a shock collar on her. She doesn’t bark so I have no idea where that would even do anything other than hurt her :/

1. Sit infront of the tv with him on your lap until he falls asleep.
2. a ride in the car.
3. Put him in his stroller and walk around the neighborhood.

I ask this because today my mother in law asked me if my daughter (she’s 16 months old) was gonna take a nap and I said I was either gonna take her for a ride in the car or a stroll around the neighborhood to get her to take her nap.
My MIL said I was "spoiling her"…
She’d much rather sit infront of the tv with the baby on her lap until she falls asleep…
I don’t get it…

Which is best?

((Note: my baby will go to sleep by herself at night, but for some reason whe won’t take her nap unless I use one of take her for a walk, a ride in the car or if my MIL puts her on her lap and watch tv))
I’d appreciate it if ONLY PEOPLE WITH KIDS would answer…. thanks very much…
She DOES NOT CRY…
I will NOT LET MY BABY "CRY IT OUT"

We just brought home our newborn and we are planning on co-sleeping. Our daughter is used to co-sleeping but I dont want all four of us in the same bed at night. Would it be ok for me to put a gate up in her room so she has to sleep in her toddler bed…even if she has to cry it out? To me this seems harsh but I am running out of ideas. She is a light sleeper and would wake up whenever our newborn cries. Any suggestions?

How long does your infant sleep when sick?

We’ve been cycling illnesses through our family this week. My daughter (almost 10 months) has a cold and vommitted once today (maybe due to drainage?)

She is sleeping a lot. When she is awake she is cuddly, and then wants to go back to sleep. She is still drinking some formula, appetite is decreased.

How much does your infant sleep when ill? What is considered excessive sleeping?
If she isn’t feeling better by monday I will of course take her in Or if she worsens before then.

I coughed, feeling the movement of my body effect my dry throat. I was lying in the backseat of an old car. After trying to sit up many times, always ending with no success, I decided to keep my back on the seat and focuseon recalling the nights events. I remember shopping at the mall, looking for a dress. I remember the fight between a father and son. My memories seem faded and distant. With a jolt, I was slammed into the seat and my head whip lashed back, sliding me to the door.. The moving had stopped. A door opened and slammed shut again. Outside of the car, I heard the faint sound of foot steps. When my door opened, I tried to place my arm over my eyes to protect me from the the bright light. Just then, a beautiful face loomed over mine. His face was familiar, with his dark hair and ocean blue eyes. He was talking, begging me to listen. I tried but his voice seemed muffled, like my ears were clogged. This was the boy arguing with his dad at the mall. His dads eyes were furious and his mouth had bits of saliva around it from yelling. The boy seemed helpless then and now. I looked up at him then, happy I remembered something. His face was streaked with long gone tears and dirt.
I’m sorry he mouthed and the tears begin to flow again as he placed a wet cloth over my nose and mouth, sending me back to sleep.

What happened to me in my dream?

I have been learning how to lucid dream recently, and i have noticed increased awareness in my dreams. I am now able to recall dreams almost every morning, but sometimes i am not. on these mornings i wake up and i can remember that i was dreaming, just not what it was about. After some time, if i cant remember the dreams, i decide to go back to sleep and then i usually wake up and remember a dream, its just not as long.
On this particular morning, i could not remember my dreams, so i decided to go back to sleep. So i closed my eyes and like every time we fall asleep, we dont realize it. In my dream i was in the back seat of a car and my friend offered me a cup cake. For some reason i knew there was mariquana in it because the last few nights i have noticed alot of sightings of weed. So i started eating it, and i then lost track of time, vision, and i felt blank, without a thought running through my mind. Then i felt like i was gaining consiousness, but i could not move and my vision was blurry. I started to somewhat panic and tried to talk and move, and then i woke up.
I do not know what happened, all i no is that i have had an increased sense of awareness and consiousness in my dreams and i was wondering if this has happened to anyone else.
