I am debating on weather to buy an infant car seat/travel system or go with a convertable infant-toddler car seat. I was just wondering if those convertable infant seats can fit onto the new car seat carrier type strollers they make now? I haven’t read on any of the descriptions if they fit on them or not…? So the convertable car seat would just stay in the car and you’d just use a carrier for the baby VS with an infant car seat, you can just pop it out and snap it onto one of those car seat carrier/strollers? Hmm..touch choice, I guess it would just depend on how much money you’d want to spend in the long run?? So many choices! So, all you experienced moms, what has worked best for you???

We have a toddler car seat in my Ford Taurus. When we tried to install it in my husband’s 2001 F150, it was very unstable. We need to be able to have a car seat in both vehicles. HELP!

I’m thinking of booking a Caribbean Cruise and will be taking my toddler (14 months). Can anyone give me some advice as to how to get around on the islands. I can’t see lugging my car toddler car seat around in taxis, and doubt that some of them even have seat belts. Renting a car on each island would be difficult as well. Please help!

Later this week, we will be flying with our 1 1/2 year-old daughter for the first time. Are there requirements pertaining to how a toddler car seat must be wrapped if you will be checking it as luggage? For instance, is wrapping the car seat in plastic sufficient or must in be placed in something more substantial, like a duffle bag? Thanks for your help!

I’m still early in my pregnancy but I’ve decided to start researching strollers now after seeing the enormous variation in styles and prices. I never would have imagined myself spending 0 on a stroller.

I’m not interested in hearing about other strollers or cheaper strollers (I know someone is CERTAIN to say they got a umbrella stroller that’s just fantastic), just wondering about mothers’ experiences with either of these strollers.

I’m concerned that the Orbit infant car seat is only rated up to 22 lbs (same as the bassinet) , so it won’t be long before having to upgrade to the pricey toddler car seat and toddler stroller seat. By the way, can the toddler carseat not be used as a stroller seat, or vice versa?

The thing I like about the Uppababy vista is that the stroller seat is rated to 40 or 50 lbs and the bassinet is included in the lower price. However, the stroller seat is not a carseat and I don’t believe there is an uppababy version of a carseat. I suppose I would have to find a compatible carseat that fits into the base. I also like that their tyres don’t go flat and the product is made out of lightweight aluminum in the USA.

Any thoughts on using these products? I’d really appreciate some input.
Thank you!
Elyse’s mama- I have read some undesirable reviews about the chameleon- namely that it was cumbersome to fold away and that the tyres had to be pumped up periodically. I’m surprised they have not solved that problem yet.
Excellent advice, thank you!
I’m still partial to the idea of being able to move a baby from the car to a stroller without doing all the unbuckling but I guess I haven’t given it enough thought. The fewer pieces I have to purchase at various times, the better, which is why I was disappointed that the orbit system had such low weight ratings.
capeko- funny you should mention it- I actually go to Rockland fairly often, I had no idea it was based there!. I have been nagging my husband to go this year but I’m not sure I could stay away from the lobster rolls (I’m trying to be good but not sure if I really need to)
oops, just realised they’re in rockland, mass, not maine ;-)

my baby girl will need a nice toddler car seat soon and the only cute ones i can find are britax for like 300 bucks ?? does anyone know of some cute ones that are normally priced?

Please help me decide which stroller to get!?

I have experience with the infant car seat all-in-one stroller and I HATED the stroller. It was a nice stroller but once I was done with the baby seat (5 months) using the stroller portion was horrible. Here’s why: The handle bar was too low and it HURT my back. There was no cup holder for my son. It was very lite — thus not very sturdy. I liked that I had a cup holder though and I liked it when it when it carried the baby car seat. That whole package cost me about 5 (9 years ago).

So I bought another stroller. I liked: the snack/cup tray for my son; the "boot"/cover that kept him warm; it was reversible so it faced me or away from me; nice size storage bag underneath the seat; it layed flat like a bassinet; it was sturdy but didn’t fold down very small. I also disliked that it had no cup holder for me and the after-market ones were a joke. This cost me about 0 (8 years ago) and I had to purchase a toddler seat for about 0 (8 years ago). I also had a miserable umbrella stroller for short, quick needs.

In all I paid 0 for the whole traveling package for my son and we used the latter three products for about 4 years.

NOW I’m having another baby and have found a few options but can’t decide. I’ve included the links and would love opinions. Yes, they are a LOT of money so I’m taking my sweet ol’ time and searching eBay too. Thanks for your input:

Orbit comes with a baby seat for 0. Toddler seat is another 0 but it’s also a toddler car seat. You can get a lighter weight toddler seat for the stroller only & it is 0. The bassinet is 0 and it works as a bassinet in the house too. TOTAL: 20 (OUCH!)

Do you know?

where i can find out about toddler car seat recalls without having the make or modle number?

What are car seats made of?

Literally the built-in seats, not a baby/toddler car seat.

Aside from like cloth/leather coverings.
