My son is almost three and I will have a newborn soon.My son is in a toddler seat and the newborn will have an infant carrier and I don’t know how to arrange them in the car.Does one have to be at one side and the other on the other side.We have a jeep liberty and no one will be able to use the backseat if we arrange it like that. But i also think you cant share the anchors for both car seats.

I have experience with the infant car seat all-in-one stroller and I HATED the stroller. It was a nice stroller but once I was done with the baby seat (5 months) using the stroller portion was horrible. Here’s why: The handle bar was too low and it HURT my back. There was no cup holder for my son. It was very lite — thus not very sturdy. I liked that I had a cup holder though and I liked it when it when it carried the baby car seat. That whole package cost me about 5 (9 years ago).
So I bought another stroller. I liked: the snack/cup tray for my son; the "boot"/cover that kept him warm; it was reversible so it faced me or away from me; nice size storage bag underneath the seat; it layed flat like a bassinet; it was sturdy but didn’t fold down very small. I also disliked that it had no cup holder for me and the after-market ones were a joke. This cost me about 0 (8 years ago) and I had to purchase a toddler seat for about 0 (8 years ago). I also had a miserable umbrella stroller for short, quick needs.
In all I paid 0 for the whole traveling package for my son and we used the latter three products for about 4 years.
NOW I’m having another baby and have found a few options but can’t decide. I’ve included the links and would love opinions. Yes, they are a LOT of money so I’m taking my sweet ol’ time and searching eBay too. Thanks for your input:
Orbit comes with a baby seat for 0. Toddler seat is another 0 but it’s also a toddler car seat. You can get a lighter weight toddler seat for the stroller only & it is 0. The bassinet is 0 and it works as a bassinet in the house too. TOTAL: 20 (OUCH!)

Peg Perego is 0 but an additional 0 for the baby car seat = 0

Chicco is about 0-400 depending on the location & the type.

I am trying to decide between the Britax Toddler Seat (either the Roundabout or the Decathlon). Does anyone have any advice or experience with them? Or, if there is another brand you like, I’m open to suggestions. Just trying to find the safest seat that will last until our child is older. Thank you!

do they just not know or how to use an infant carrier? i was at work and helped someone out to the car and they had 2 infant carriers in there car one was rear facing and the other was forward facing how in the world do you get a infant seat forwarded facing with a bass and get a good tight fit? they are called infant seats cause its for infants not toddlers.. and i can’t see any way for it to fit forward facing cause it only has wholes for the seat belt or the Latch SYSTEM.. there is no way for it to be forward facing.. and i have looked at all the infant seats and non of them says rear and forward facing.. some one tell me or give me a link of were it says its rear and forward facing car seat.. i am not talking about convertible ones. i am talking about the infant carriers that clip in to a bass and or a stroller..
Noah’s Mommy is expecting #2: thanks i thought so.. no it had a base and a handle i have never seen a toddler seat one with a handle.. i think so parents just don’t know how to keep there kids safe anymore.. and then i saw another mother not even buckle her child in and drove off and he was standing up in front of his car seat.. and i have seen people use 5 point harness and the car seat belt used at the same time too. i don’t mean the seat belt was holding the car seat in i mean it was around the child to like we use them and a 5 point harness.
Jazlynn is 15 months!: thanks.. yeah i have a 4 year old so i know my stuff about car seats and stuff like that.. yes i have helped a lot of people while i am at work but some poeple just don’t care about safty..
Courage: never heard about the shopping cart thing? why are they suppost to go on shopping carts? well a lot of people who come to my store most of them put them in the cart and pull a cart or have someone with them and push the other cart..
oh i do say something to most people but were i work we really can’t do or say thing to anyone. if we want something done someone that does not work there has to call the cops or talk to them..

My daughter is 15 weeks, about 15lbs and well under 26 inches. She is under all the height and weght requirements for the Graco Snugride Infant Carrier (2008) and the straps are already getting too tight?????? She is not a large baby according to the Doctor, she is AVERAGE??? I have checked and double checked the seat and straps and they are in properly. My neighboor is an EMT and checked??? My cousin and her friend both have 9 month old girls who are way bigger than my daughter and they are still in their carseats while wearing bulki snow suits???? I don’t get it??? We bought a 3 in 1, infant to toddler seat, so iiregardless she will be in a safer seat. Anyone else experience this problem???????????????????
to Delicious N, i have adjusted the straps, could you be anymore ignorant?

I read in parents magazine that kids are 5x safer in a crash if they are facing backwards. while the current recommendation is to face backward until 1 year and 20 lbs, this new data suggests they face backwards in a toddler seat until 30 pounds and 36 inches.
So where, pray tell, are my child’s legs supposed to go? Is he supposed to sit in fetal position, his chin resting on his knees?

I know its 12 months 20lbs to switch to a toddler seat, 4 year 40lbs to switch to a booster and 8 years 80lbs to get rid of the car seat altogether. But my son will be 2 next month and his weight is in the upper 30s. So which matters more, weight or age? Or both? When did you switch your child?

My son is almost three and we have a pt cruiser in which he sits pretty close up in his toddler seat and he generally likes to kick the back of our seats. I have tried moving him to the middle of the car, with no luck he can’t reach to kick the drivers seat but can still kick the passenger seat. For me it’s no big deal because I tend to sit with the seat in the upright position but it is driving my husband crazy. How can i encourage him to not kick the back of our seats?

We have a Honda Odyssey minivan and we are expecting a second baby soon. We have a Graco Snugride infant carseat and a Brtitax Marathon toddler seat. How we do arrnage these two seats? Should I put both the seats at the two ends and leave the middle seat empty or should I put the infant seat in the center and toddler seat near the window?
Appreciate your suggestions.

I am wondering which is the best double stroller out there.
First off I want to be able to see my children.
After that anything goes.
I currently have a Stokke Xplory for my daughter (8 months) and love how she is next to me and can interact with me when we are out. My husband and I went testing double strollers this past weekend and I found nothing I really liked.
I first was thinking the Queen B Bumbleride with toddler seat but the steering was horrible
Next I tried the Peg Perego Duette with steering wheel Wow what a bus!
Next the Contour by Kolcraft seemed very heavy and still seemed pretty long.
I saw on the internet the Stroll-air Spider Duo looked interesting but can’t find it anywhere to test it.
Does anybody have any of these strollers or have any other suggestions?
Thanks

My compact car is usually driven with one occupant and parked in a cramped urban office garage. My other car, a minivan, usually transports the kids. However, I’d like to buy a replacement for the compact that could occasionally have room for a one backless booster seat, one infant car seat, and one forward-facing toddler seat. My main concerns are small size and good gas mileage for commuting, but with the option of wedging in three seats in a pinch.

I’ve got an ’03 Subaru WRX sedan. Right now we have a Baby Trend flex lock infant seat, and will need to upgrade soon. My wife and I are pretty tall, and put the front seats all the way back, and the Baby Trend seat we have now barely fits in the center in the rear seats. We’re worried an infant/toddler seat won’t fit at all. Anybody have any suggestions on a good infant/toddler seat that will fit?

My daughter is in an infant car seat and we will soon be needing a toddler seat, stage 2 car seat, convertible, or 3-in-1 car seat. Does anyone have a really good one or is there any I shouldn’t even consider? We were looking at the Eddie Bauer car seats and the Graco stage 2 toddler seat.
