Was it hard for your toddler to get used to moving into a toddler bed?
I just moved my 20 month old daughter into her princess toddler bed the day before yesterday. She stays in it all night, no problem, she’s always been a good sleeper. But, when I try to get her to take a nap during the day, it’s impossible. I can hear her playing around in her room and I know she is not napping.

nope -she’s doing well. nap time can be changed to Quiet Time & then you won’t stress so much. as long as her room is safe, she’s fine.
Oh boy! I JUST put my 2 year old in a toddler bed (on his 2nd bday) on Sunday. We are having the same issue, but already it is getting a bit better. The first day he would not nap at all. The first night he fell out of the bed! But, last night he did not fall out, and he took naps yesterday and today…eventually.
Our belief is that once he has examined everything in his room a few times (and dad continues to put locks on the "fun" draws), he will lose the excitement of playing in there.
I would say hang in there. This can’t go on forever for us…..can it?
aww it feels like they are all grown up when they go into their little beds doesnt it? I skipped the toddler bed and my 2 year old sleeps in a single bed, we do tend to sit with him until he falls asleep (which I know is wrong) but we will stop doing it soon, we dont have any issues with him sleeping in it, he loves his bed!
I moved my daughter to her toddler bed when she was 15 months and she did the same thing.
She even played with her toys at night in the dark – and she still does sometimes too.
But she always gets back in bed and goes to sleep.
Try letting your daughter play in there for a while and see if she finally goes to sleep.
Even if she doesn’t, you will at least get some time to yourself while she is happily playing in her room.
But she may just go and fall asleep on her own without you needing to go back in there and tuck her in.
For my daughter, the worst thing I can do is go back in her room and tell her to get back in bed – she gets mad if I do that.
When your daughter is tired enough she will fall asleep at nap time too.
