What will happen if theres no infant car seat for a 7m old baby and an accident happen?

Luckily no one got hurt when the accident happened yesterday, but my sister and the husband who are both regnurses lied to the police officer saying were only 3 in the car. We hid the baby behind the front seat giving him milk bottle so that he will not get fussy. Im just wondering what will happen if the police caught the baby there and theres no car seat? Seious replies only please

What could have happened? The driver could have received a ticket for failure to use proper restraint on a child. You’re right, you’re very lucky no one got hurt. I have worked accidents where children have been killed because of parents not being responsible enough to keep them from being hurt.
I find it interesting you confessed to this transgression today, 7 minutes ago, in front of millions of people. How hard will it be to get an accident, occurring yesterday, 1/24/2010 involving 3 people, 2 of which were registered nurses?

At the very least they would have been cited for a moving violation, carrying a heavy fine. There may have been other charges, criminal charges like child endangerment, bringing child protective services into the picture. This is the kind of thing a district attorney could have a field day with.
The parents could go to jail for child neglect and also for lying to a police officer which could be seen as obstructing an investigation. Both are federal offenses. And in my opinion your sister and husband should be in jail. Who puts a 7 month old in a car without a car seat. That is serious neglect and those people have no business taking care of a baby.
