Under Mothercare’s terms and conditions you have the right to a refund if the pram is unused or displays a manufacturing fault within 28 of purchase.
If you feel that the problem with your pram has been existant from day 1 then you could probably argue it is a manufacturing fault. I just skipped over the terms quickly but I think if the 28 days have expired you then only have a right to have the pram repaired free of charge, provided you are within your gurantee period.
Worth taking it in and having a chat with them though…..
That is ALOT of money for a travel system. Dont they have any Wal-marts there in Ireleand, lol. Some cheaper systems (Graco, Cosco) have wonderful reviews and no recalls.
I would first find the receipt, then clean it up , pack it up and take it back. You could always tell a little fib and say it was a gift and you already received one, etc…
I would ask for a refund or store credit on something else.
Sometimes once you have purchased an item and used it the store you purchased it from has nothing they can do for you. I would still try and take it back and demand something new for your baby! When you spend that much money on a car seat it should work properly!! I would try again to go back to the store and ask for a manager and calmly explain the situation and if they do have to send the car seat to the manufacturer then demand something comparable for your child to have in the meanwhile. Goodluck!
You should take it back and just say that you didn[t like it. You don’t need to lie to return an item. If it didn’t work the way you wanted/ thought then there’s no reason to keep it.
$700 is a lot of money to spend on a stroller. Once you take it back, you should order a cheaper one online or something.
Once the gril calls u back just get a different one. I used to work managment in retail for 6 years and i woiuld say i’m the queen of taking things back!
How long have you had the stroller (pram)? Check the store’s policy and see if you can still return it to the store, or if you have to send it back to the manufacturer. Whichever one it has to go to, I’d get rid of it too. A lot of stores have only a 30 day return policy here in the states. Not sure what it is in Ireland though. If you are within that return policy date, you can take it back to the store and exchange it for a different one. If you are out of that return policy date, you will have to send it back to the manufacturer, which generally gives you a 1-year warranty. They can refund you your money, but you’ll probably have to pay shipping costs, and then be without a pram until you get your refund. Unless you purchased it within the last 30 days, and if that policy is the same in Ireland as it is in the states, just exchange it. If you have to return it to the manufacturer, I’m afraid you will find more aggravation in the process. I hope once you get this settled, everything works out well for you and your family.
Try calling the company and complaining about it. Like the company that MADE the system. They will usually have you send it in and give you a full refund. Good luck!
