Whats the best booster car seat and…?
We have the graco comfort sport right now and my 3 year old can unlock the chest piece and take her arms out. I have been doing research and have found the safest booster seat to buy is a 5 point harness booster seat…But they all have the chest piece that looks just like the car seat she has now. In my opinion it wouldn’t be safe if she keeps unlocking the chest piece.
So should I get a regular booster seat that just uses a seat belt?
or
Is there another 5 pt harness booster with a chest lock thats harder to open?

She still needs to be in a 5 point harness. It wouldn’t hurt to get a new seat because she is probably close to outgrowing the comfort sport anyway. Some seats will have different chest clips, so you can look around and try her in some, but if she can get one undone, it’s only a matter of time before she’d figure out the next one. The first thing to do is to teach her not to mess with the chest clip. I know, easier said than done, but it is one step. The next thing you can do is take a piece of adhesive backed velcro, the scratchy side, and stick it to the front of the chest clip. Most children hate the feel of the scratchy velcro and will leave the clip alone to avoid touching it.

I know it’s not the easiest option, but what about teaching her that she has to leave it closed? Barring any mental delays, she should and can be expected to just leave it alone. Help her understand why she needs to wear it (to keep her from getting hurt), and enforce that. You can be kind and empathetic and still enforce "you have to stay in your harness when we’re in the car so you stay safe". I suggest this because she can just as easily reach down and undo the real seat belt. Changing seats might be a distraction, but it doesn’t really solve the problem.
Another idea could be to see if the problem isn’t "she’s undoing the chest clip and that’s bad so I need to get a clip she can’t undo" but the seat not being comfortable for her any more. Even if she’s still in the acceptable limits for the seat, she might be too tall or wide or something and the harness just isn’t comfortable now (leading to her undoing the clip to get extra comfort). Are the shoulder straps at or above her shoulders or below them? If her seat is just too small for her for some reason, getting a booster/5 point harness combo could work to solve that problem.
