Okay so I have a 5 year old and I have a almost 2 year old.
What I want to know is how big or/and old do they have to be before using the booster seat in cars?
I know the law now is something to the effect of until they are 8 years old or something like that.
My daughter is in a booster seat now and I think I put her in it at 3 years old but I can’t remember for sure, and anyways I want to put my son in a booster seat soon because I hate his car seat!

A child should be in a car seat with a five point harness until they reach 40 pounds. At 40 pounds they can be in a car seat without the 5 point harness (shoulder straps) or a booster seat.
They have to be in a booster seat until they are 8 or 80 pounds, which ever comes first.
I think they need an infant or convertible seat until they’re 40 lbs. Then, they can use a booster. It just depends on the booster seat itself though.
