When did you switch your toddler over from a carseat to a booster seat?
What is the normal age and weight recommendation and is there a specific booster seat you’d recommend? (I’m talking about the booster seat with the highback and arms – not just the base)

Sophie has a Britax Marathon, and it goes to 60 or 65 lbs. I think I’ll leave her in it until she is 45-50 lbs and then put her in a highback booster.
Check the laws where you live. In most US states (some with newly changed laws), children must be 4 years old AND 40 lbs. before they can move to a booster seat from a regular car seat. It’s best to keep them in a 5-point harness as long as possible.
Casidee has been in a high back 5 point harness Eddie bauer booster since she was 2. The weight requirement is 20lbs for that seat, it also reclines! I love it!!
We happened to look at some yesterday, and all the ones I saw were for kids 30lbs and up. Emma’s car seat goes to 50lbs, so I am probably just going to leave her in that until she grows out of it. Steven keeps trying to talk me into getting her a highback booster seat and giving her seat to Connor, but I said no…..lol. We’re on a hunt for Connor a new convertible seat since his fat butt is almost grown out of his infant carrier.
I was wondering this too. I guess 3 or so.
Most booster seats require the child to be 40 pounds AND 40 inches tall. This typically means around their 4th birthday (give or take 1/2 a year).
Graco products are terrible, Evenflo makes a much better product. I am still using my Safety 1st convertible car seat, and will probably switch my daughter to a high back car seat around age 5.
